The heartwarming video, shared by TikTok user @zankraze, showcases the spirited senior citizen, affectionately known as 'Opah,' enthusiastically participating in the popular racquet sport alongside her family members at an indoor court facility. According to the video caption, Opah receives coaching guidance from her grandson Zakwan, who helped her navigate the game's techniques and strategies during their family sporting session. The TikTok uploader expressed admiration for his grandmother's abilities, commenting: 'Yeah she still look sharp and good reflex action. Semangat tetap semangat'. Penang PKR Youth condemns upside-down Jalur Gemilang display at hardware store
KUALA LUMPUR: Penang PKR's Youth wing has strongly condemned the act of flying the Jalur Gemilang upside-down in front of a hardware store in Kepala Batas, Penang. Its chief, Muhammad Zakwan Mustafa Kamal, said the act was disrespectful, irresponsible, and an insult to the dignity of the nation. "The Jalur Gemilang is a symbol of sovereignty, unity, and the pride of the Malaysian people. Flying it upside down is an unacceptable insult, especially as we celebrate the month of independence," he said in a statement today. Zakwan called for an immediate investigation by the authorities and for legal action to be taken without compromise if the act was proven to be deliberate. He said the shop owner should also issue a public apology to all Malaysians. He also reminded all business owners in Penang to ensure the national flag is flown correctly and with the utmost respect. "We wish to remind everyone that the Jalur Gemilang is not merely a decoration. It is a symbol of the sacrifices of our independence fighters and the identity of our beloved nation. To neglect or make a mockery of it is a form of betrayal against the values of patriotism. "We will not remain silent when the nation's symbol is insulted. We stand firmly with Malaysians who love this country, demanding justice and ensuring that such incidents do not happen again," he said.

Football mad e-hailing driver's murder case transferred to the High Court
KUCHING: The case of an e-hailing driver charged with murdering his first-time date to steal her jewellery to fund his trip to an international football match in Phnom Penh last year has been transferred to the High Court. Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali made the order today when the case was brought up for mention before her today. Zakwan Mokhtar, 23, was charged under Section 320 of the Penal Code with murdering Nurul Asikin Lan in December last year. He was alleged to have done so to steal her gold bracelet and earrings, which he intended to pawn to fund his trip to watch Malaysia play Cambodia in the 2024 Mitsubishi Electric Asean Cup football tournament in Phnom Penh on Dec 8. If found guilty, Zakwan faces the death sentence or imprisonment of 30 to 40 years, along with a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane if not sentenced to death. Deputy public prosecutor Jean Siow Chung Hwei informed the court today that the post-mortem examination report on the 28-year-old victim, fondly known as "Amoi" to family members and friends, and the retrieval of the WhatsApp messages between the suspect and the victim have been completed. Zakwan, who was unrepresented, only nodded his head in acknowledgment when the murder charge was read to him by a court interpreter. On Dec 14, Nurul Asikin's highly decomposed body was discovered in a drain along Jalan Setia Raja in the residential housing area of Tabuan Jaya. Zakwan was arrested on the same day the body was found. This case attracted public attention after the accused, during police interrogation, was said to have confessed to the murder and his motive for the killing. He was charged later that same month.

Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali fixed the date following a request by deputy public prosecutor Jean Siow Chung Hwei, who sought additional time pending the forensic report on the extraction of WhatsApp messages.
