DPIIT signs MoU with Zepto to boost manufacturing startups through Zepto Nova challenge

The six-month programme will focus on identifying and mentoring startups developing solutions in hardware, IoT, packaging, and sustainable manufacturing. These startups will receive guidance to progress from prototype development to market-ready products by leveraging Zepto's delivery and digital infrastructure. The partnership will include mentorship, capacity building through expert-led workshops, and assistance from Startup India. Special emphasis will be placed on supporting women-led ventures and startups from Tier II and Tier III cities. Zepto aims to integrate over 100 Indian startups into its supply chain, providing them with market access and a platform to expand their presence. Joint Secretary of DPIIT, Sanjiv, highlighted the significance of unicorns contributing to the ecosystem, stating that market access remains a critical enabler for startup success. New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed an MoU with Zepto Pvt Ltd with an objective to assist early-stage startups in the manufacturing sector with the help of the 'Zepto Nova' innovation challenge. Addressing a ceremony, Sanjiv, joint secretary, DPIIT, stressed the support from unicorns for driving India's startup growth. He said it was the responsibility of unicorns to contribute to the startup ecosystem. This partnership focuses on training startups under the six-month programme by mentoring them on advanced technologies, including hardware, IoT packaging, and sustainable manufacturing. Moreover, the collaboration also allows conducting the expert-led workshops on focusing on women-led and Tier II/III startups. Zepto will also integrate about 100 Indian startups into its supply chain to expand its presence. Zepto co-founder Kaivalya Vohra said the partnership would support the future of manufacturing. DPIIT signs MoUs with Hero MotoCorp and Zepto to boost early-stage startups
New Delhi [India], August 12 (ANI): The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has signed two separate Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Hero MotoCorp Limited and Zepto Private Limited to support and scale early-stage startups across different to an official notification on Tuesday, the ministry stated that under the Startup India initiative, DPIIT and Hero MotoCorp will work together through the company's innovation accelerator programme 'Hero For Startups'. The collaboration will support startups focusing on the future of mobility, clean technology, and deep technology. Selected startups will get exclusive access to Hero MotoCorp's state-of-the-art research and development facilities in Germany and India, as well as the company's vast network of dealers, suppliers, and partners. They will also benefit from mentorship opportunities and have a chance to work on paid Proofs of Concept (PoCs), enabling successful pilots and valuable market on the occasion, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Sanjiv said the partnership would help strengthen product-focused startups that are solving India's mobility challenges. 'By connecting industry experience with grassroots innovation, we aim to fast-track the journey from idea to impact, especially in emerging technologies and Tier 2/3 markets," he MotoCorp's Executive Chairman, Pawan Munjal, said the company is committed to building a self-reliant and globally competitive Bharat, aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
