BSNL's global tech tie-ups put Jabalpur at the heart of India's 5G and AI future
Today, India stands at the cusp of a defining moment in its digital journey. Connectivity has become the new currency of progress shaping economies, empowering communities and expanding opportunities. Aligning with this ambition, BSNL has taken a decisive step towards building a future-ready telecom ecosystem. By forging strategic partnerships with 4 global technology giants - Ericsson , Qualcomm, Cisco Systems and Nokia - it is setting into motion a transformative initiative that will not only upgrade India's telecom capabilities but also equip India's young talent with future-ready four companies have joined forces to establish training centres at BSNL's apex training institute, Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute of Telecom Training (BRBRAITT) in Jabalpur , Madhya Pradesh. This marks a major step toward creating the national telecom R&D and skilling hub, Telecom Innovation , Research and Training Centre (TIRTC). TIRTC is envisioned to emerge as a global centre of excellence for advanced communications, 5G , 6G, AI and cybersecurity will set up a 5G centre of excellence at BRBRAITT, delivering hands-on training supported by world-class online modules, enabling students to gain exposure to global best practices, while benefiting from BSNL's robust telecom infra. Qualcomm will specialise in advanced 5G and AI courses, offering internships and sponsoring training for the first 100 students, thereby directly boosting employability and opening pathways to careers in high-demand tech will expand its renowned Networking Academy to democratise access to quality training in networking and cybersecurity. By collaborating with non-profit institutions, it will ensure that learners across India, regardless of location, have access to industry-relevant skills. Nokia will establish a 5G and AI-ML Lab, focusing on training in core networks and emerging telecom applications, with joint certification from Nokia and BSNL, enhancing graduates' industry curriculum, spanning from intensive 2-wk modules to comprehensive 84-hr programmes, is designed for students, working professionals and public sector employees. Beyond skilling, the initiative will encourage product innovation, prototyping and telecom entrepreneurship, turning learners into creators, not just consumers, of economies, especially in Madhya Pradesh, will benefit from increased employment opportunities, while India as a whole gains a workforce equipped to compete on a global stage. For consumers, the ripple effect will be better connectivity, more innovative telecom solutions, and faster rollout of next-gen local to global, India won't just make in India but for the world. And Jabalpur will be at the heart of this transformation. Aligned with existing initiatives like Digital India , Skill India, Make in India and Startup India, this collaboration positions India as a global hub for telecom innovation and expertise. It also gives a fresh boost to Aatmanirbhar Bharat with BSNL's remarkable comeback, achieving consecutive quarterly net profits after 18 years on its path to achievements in expanding affordable broadband, enabling digital payments like UPI, and using tech for governance have become case studies across the world. Hero Motocorp has launched the 2025 Glamour X starting at ₹89,999 (ex-showroom). The all-new Hero Glamour X gets a design refresh along with world-first and four segment-first features. The Glamour X will be offered in two different variants, including Drum and Disc. The Disc brake variant of the motorbike has been priced at ₹99,999 (ex-showroom), and bookings commence on August 20. Hero has designed the motorbike keeping in mind four things, namely, style, technology, comfort and performance. One of the fastest-growing segments in India is the 125cc segment, which grew by 19 per cent with over 3.6 lakh units sold annually. The new Hero Glamour X comes with a refreshed look, highlighted by an H-shaped LED headlamp and tail lamp, along with LED turn indicators. Wider nylon handlebar grips and improved pillion seating further enhance practicality and rider comfort. The bike offers a relaxed upright riding stance, aided by a wide handlebar and slightly forward-set footpegs. With a 790 mm seat height and 170 mm ground clearance, it ensures ease of handling for city and highway rides. What features does the 2025 Hero Glamour X get? The Glamour X is equipped with ride-by-wire technology, an electronic throttle body, and even cruise control, while retaining a kick-start option that many modern bikes lack. It also includes a panic brake alert for emergencies and an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the instrument cluster's theme. The coloured LCD offers over 60 features, including turn-by-turn navigation, ride mode selection, gear position indicator, distance-to-empty, i3s on/off indicator, date and time, and cruise mode status, making it one of the most feature-rich bikes in its segment. Adding to convenience, the Glamour X offers underseat storage that can fit two mobile phones, a tool kit, and a first-aid kit. It also comes with a 2A Type-C USB charging port for fast smartphone charging on the go. How much performance does the 2025 Hero Glamour X offer? Power comes from the advanced Sprint-EBT 125cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke engine with fuel injection, producing 11.4 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 10.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. A balancer shaft and silent cam chain help reduce vibrations, ensuring smoothness. Hero has also optimised cam profiles and gear ratios for better throttle response. The bike offers three riding modes: Eco for efficiency, Power for spirited riding, and Road for everyday balance. A bass-rich exhaust note adds a big-bike character, while Hero's AERA Tech further improves throttle precision and refinement. Riders also get the convenience of both a self-start and a reliable kick-start option, a rare feature in modern motorcycles. Which colours are available on the 2025 Hero Glamour X? The bike is offered in five colours.
