Shafiishuna Sam Nujoma, the new Governor of Khomas Region of the Republic of Namibia, having an in-depth exchange of views on promoting the friendly exchanges between China and Namibia at the local level. On April 14, Chinese Ambassador to Namibia Zhao Weiping paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia. Ambassador Zhao once again congratulated President Ndaitwah on her election as the President of Namibia, saying that the Chinese side always attaches high importance to China-Namibia relations, the potential for the bilateral cooperation in various fields is enormous, and the Chinese side stands ready to work together with Namibia to actively implement the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing summit and promote further growth in the bilateral relations. On April 2, Ambassador Zhao Weiping paid a courtesy call on Hon. Amb. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Minister of International Relations and Trade of the Republic of Namibia. Minister-Counselor Shen Jian attended. Ambassador Zhao congratulated Minister Ashipala-Musavyi on her new appointment and said that, as good friends, China and Namibia have enjoyed frequent high-level exchanges, deepened and expanded cooperation in various fields over the 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Ambassador Zhao Weiping Expresses Deep Condolences on the Passing of Namibian Founding President Sam Nujoma

On February 9, 2025, Ambassador Zhao Weiping sent a letter on the passing of H.E. Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma, the Founding President of the Republic of Namibia and Founding Father of the Namibian Nation, to Hon. Utoni Nujoma, the eldest son of President Nujoma and Minister of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation, and expressed his deep condolences. Ambassador Zhao said that President Nujoma was an all-weather friend of the Chinese people, who laid a solid foundation and left precious legacy for the development of China-Namibia relations, and we will always remember his historic contribution. On February 10, 2025, Mr. Shen Jian, Chargé d'affaires a.i. and Minister Counsellor of the Embassy visited President Nujoma's residence to sign on the condolence book and greet H.E. Kovambo Nujoma, the Founding First Lady of the Republic of Namibia. Mr. Shen also expressed his condolences when he was interviewed by the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation.
