2025 Jinyihu Zhejiang Half Marathon Team RaceKicks Off with Enthusiasm

At 8:00 AM on March 16, the shores of Jinyihu werebustling with excitement. With the crisp sound of thestarting gun, the 2025 Jinyihu Zhejiang HalfMarathon Team Race officially commenced.
Over ten thousand runners participating in the halfmarathon, health run, and parent-child run dashedfrom the starting line at the Jinyihu Cloud ButterflyCenter, embarking on a thrilling 21.0975-kilometerjourney along the 'Tech-Eco Racecourse.' Alongthe way, they poured out sweat while taking inbreathtaking views—the floral fragrance of theYanqu Hills Garden, the fiery hues of the AutumnMaple Port's red-leaf corridor, and the shimmeringreflections beneath Xifeng Bridge's stone ecological restoration project seamlesslyinterweaves its nine scenic spots, crafting apicturesque tapestry of 'mountains, water, city, andlandscape.' Here, technology meets nature, andpoetry blends with the journey, unfolding a dynamicand scenic panorama for runners along the ran hand in hand, young runners radiatedenergy, and senior participants showcased theirunwavering spirit. Together, they embraced the joyof movement, spreading health and happiness toevery corner.
Since launching the nation's first rural greenwaymarathon in 2015, Jinyi New District hassuccessfully hosted eight marathon events, with itsinfluence steadily growing. This year marks thedebut of the Zhejiang Half Marathon Team Race atJinyihu, attracting over ten thousand participantsfrom across the province and beyond. A total of 121expert, corporate, and professional marathon teamsjoined the event, setting new records in both scaleand participation.
Among them, the Haoyidian Running Team becamea standout presence along the lakeside track. Overthe years, this corporate running team has bravedall weather conditions, actively taking part inJindong's marathon events. For this race, their teamexceeded 100 members, featuring a diverse lineup—from product development managers trackingreal-time running data with smartwatches tofrontline technicians synchronizing their strides withthe rhythm of their workshop routines. 'Thetransformation is truly remarkable! Compared toprevious events, the racecourse scenery hasbecome even more stunning, and the organizingcommittee's services are more refined andthoughtful. Every aspect of the race is meticulouslydesigned, allowing runners to experience firsthandthe rapid changes brought by Jindong'stechnological advancements and thrivingindustries,' remarked Wang Ying, an administrativemanager at Haoyidian, after the race.
'The flag of Zhejiang University of ChineseMedicine Research Institute is over there!' Cheerserupted from the audience at the 5-kilometer 40-member team of research experts madetheir debut at Jinyihu, embodying the synergybetween scientific talent and urban leader Chen Yitao expressed his excitement,stating that the institute had officially settled inJinyihu, where the unparalleled ecologicalenvironment fosters both an uplifting atmosphereand an intensified passion for research. Sharing thissentiment was Liu Dong, Vice Dean of ZhejiangUniversity's School of Optoelectronic Science andEngineering, who was visiting Jindong for the firsttime. 'The lake's scenic greenways create a perfectharmony, and the eco-friendly track offers ever-changing landscapes with every step. Running hereis both a physical joy and a visual feast!' Liu isoptimistic about Jindong's future and hopes fordeeper collaboration to bring more optoelectronicresearch breakthroughs into practical applications.
Dressed in eye-catching outfits, runners showcasedthe city's vibrant energy. Some competitors stoodout with their dazzling attire, earning theaffectionate nickname 'attention-grabbers.'Whether aiming for personal bests or expressingtheir love for the city, these runners converged atJinyihu for an exuberant celebration ofsportsmanship. Among them, runner TangHongfang, fondly known as the 'Nezha Runner,'secured second place in the women's half marathoncategory. She praised the race's excellent trackconditions, scenic surroundings, andcomprehensive service support. 'The cheers alongthe route were simply overwhelming and gave methe motivation to achieve my best performance,'she shared.
Many runners reflected that each participation inJindong's marathon felt like witnessing the region'songoing transformation. Looking back, on January1, 2023, the Jinyihu project officially broke 700 days of tireless effort and the dedicationof more than 200,000 workers brought forth high-standard ecological restoration and landscapeenhancements. What was once a scatteredcollection of reservoirs and lake areas has beentransformed into three integrated lake districts,forming a spatial structure of 'Three RingsConverging at One Heart, Four Networks WeavingNine Scenes.' The landmark Jinyiji complex is nowa hub for tech innovation and high-endmanufacturing, connecting universities, researchinstitutes, and key laboratories to foster a thrivingecosystem of industry and talent.
Jinyihu has also embraced cutting-edge technology,introducing autonomous shuttle buses, intelligentroad monitoring, smart parking, and advancedwater management systems.
