Zyxel Networks achieves top customer ratings for firewall & VPNs
Zyxel Networks has been awarded Champion status for both its firewall and VPN solutions in the 2025 Professional User Rating: Security Solutions survey by techconsult. The survey is conducted by techconsult, an independent German research and analysis organisation under the Heise Group, with participation from over 4,500 IT professionals who evaluated products across user-friendliness, reliability, functionality, and customer satisfaction. Techconsult's Professional User Rating: Security Solutions 2025 survey ranks vendors based on Solution/Technology Excellence and Company Excellence. Zyxel Networks was one of nine vendors recognised as a Champion in the Network Firewall category and one of only seven in the VPN solutions category. The company's firewalls received high scores for user-friendliness and reliability, with strong marks for functionality and compliance. Zyxel Networks also achieved the highest customer satisfaction ranking in the overall Company Rating for network firewalls. Additionally, users commended the support and technical competency of Zyxel's consultants and partners, as well as ongoing improvements to its products. In the VPN category, Zyxel Networks was rated highly for performance, usability, and specific benefits. Users also highlighted features for innovation and customisation. The company's VPN support and partner network were noted, with Zyxel securing the top satisfaction ratings for both Company and Solutions in this segment. In the most recent survey, 23 vendors were featured in the network firewall analysis, and 21 were assessed for VPN solutions; only those with a sufficient volume of positive responses were included in the results. Zyxel upgrades USG FLEX H series for unified cloud security
Zyxel Networks has introduced an upgraded version of its USG FLEX H series firewall aimed at unifying cloud and on-premises security for small and medium-sized businesses and managed service providers. The new USG FLEX H series is designed to integrate cloud and on-premises security in a single platform, supported by Smart Sync technology. This capability allows for the synchronisation of security policies, network objects, and high availability settings across devices, aiming to create consistent protection and reduce manual duplication of security management tasks. The company stated that, through Smart Sync, the solution overcomes the division typically found between cloud and on-premises security in hybrid environments. The intention is to streamline management and efficiency while delivering a scalable and unified network experience. The USG FLEX H series now includes the Entry Defense Pack (EDP) as part of its standard offering. This package provides several essential security features upon installation, including content filtering, traffic analytics, reputation filtering, SecuReporter analytics, and priority customer support. Zyxel Networks claims the EDP ensures that businesses have protection against current security threats from the outset. The upgraded hardware underpinning the USG FLEX H series delivers what Zyxel describes as triple the firewall, VPN, and Unified Threat Management performance compared to previous models.
