BLUE BEETLE Star Xolo Maridueña Gives Update on the Future of His Character in the DCU — GeekTyrant
One of the few actors that James Gunn was willing to bring over from the previous DC film universe was Xolo Maridueña, who portrayed Blue Beetle in 2023. This film featured the first live-action Latin superhero to headline his own major studio film, and it was a lot of fun! The movie didn't take itself as seriously as many of the DC flops that came before it, and Maridueña gave a great performance. But we don't know when we will see him back in live-action. Last year, Warner Bros. announced that Blue Beetle would be getting an animated series, so the character does have something in the works, but we would still like to know how he will fit in Gunn's DCU. Maridueña gave an update on both fronts during recent appearances promoting the Smurfs movie, in which he is playing Brainy Smurf. In an interview with ScreenRant, the actor said of the animated show: "The universe is cracked open. Pandora's Box is open, for lack of a better word. I love the animation medium. I love getting to continue to explore and try my best to fit this character. Having already done Blue Beetle, I know the character and know the voice now. I'm excited to see him in the actual format of animation, and to see what stories we can tell that we can't tell in live-action... I'm excited to see how Blue Beetle fits in." Maridueña also spoke with a YouTube personality (via CBM) while making the interview rounds, where he again touched on the future of Blue Beetle: "James Gunn, Peter Safran, John Rickard- everybody over at DCU has been so kind in welcoming into the DCU. They just had a really awesome release, and I'm really excited that this is an awesome first step in the direction of opening up that universe," said Maridueña, referencing Superman's opening weekend domestic release. He continued: "We've got some animated stuff, some live-action stuff- a whole bunch of areas that Blue Beetle and the greater Reyes family can join in, so I'm blessed. I'm just hoping that it can be with Ángel Manuel Soto- that's my guy." We will just have to wait and see what happens with the character, but at least we know he's in the mix and his future is being considered at DC.

New trailer for 'King of the Hill' reboot is here. When does Season 14 premiere on Hulu?
America's favorite animated Texan is making a return. After a 15-year hiatus, Hank Hill returns to Arlen as "King of the Hill." The original series ended in 2010. With the series returning with a new plot, here is what you need to know about the new trailer before the show's official date. "King of the Hill" will stream on Hulu on August 4. What has Hank and his family been up to since the show's hiatus? Hank, after spending time in Saudi Arabia working on a propane initiative to secure his retirement and that of Peggy's, is seen returning to Arlen in the trailer for Season 14 of "King of the Hill." The revival explores the challenges they face as they confront the numerous changes that have occurred since they left. Bill, Dale (now voiced by Toby Huss following Johnny Hardwick's passing), and Boomhauer remain fixtures in Arlen. As shown in the trailer, they're still up for gathering in the alley with Hank while sipping a few Alamo beers. But, like Hank, they're also navigating the realities of a modernized Arlen, complete with craft beers, gender-neutral restrooms, and ride-share apps like Uber. Meanwhile, Bobby Hill is thriving in Dallas as an Asian fusion chef, maintaining close ties with childhood friends like Connie. With his father struggling to adapt after years abroad in the Middle East, Bobby steps into a guiding role, helping Hank find his footing in a world that has evolved well beyond his comfort zone. Seth Rogen's Wild Ride Continues in Vulgar Trailer for SAUSAGE PARTY: FOODTOPIA Season 2 — GeekTyrant
If you thought Sausage Party maxed out the insanity back in 2016 and with the first season Sausage Party: Foodtopia , think again, because it's back for Season 2, and the new trailer is a foul-mouthed, food-fueled fever dream that somehow turns the dial up even higher. In Season 2 of the animated series, 'exiled from home, Frank, Barry, and Sammy soon find themselves in New Foodland, a shining utopia for food and humans alike. 'But beneath the city's glossy fridges and cheery smiles lies a dark secret that threatens the entirety of sentient food society.' The trailer is bonkers with its full-on profanity-laced musical numbers, talking tacos with attitude, and existential hot dogs having meltdowns. And of course dialogue like, 'It was the best of times, it was the wurst of times.' The returning voice cast includes Seth Rogen, Will Forte, Edward Norton, Michael Cera, Sam Richardson, Ruth Negga, Yassir Lester, and David Krumholtz are all back in the mix. But Season 2 also comes with some fresh seasoning with new cast members including Marion Cotillard, Jillian Bell, Martin Starr, Melissa Villaseñor, Patti Harrison, Haley Joel Osment, and Andre Braugher. The series is once again run by Sausage Party vets Ariel Shaffir and Kyle Hunter, who co-wrote the original film with Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Conrad Vernon returns to direct, continuing his streak of animated food-based chaos. If the first season was any indication, this new chapter will be absurd, wildly inappropriate, and probably weirdly heartfelt. Season 2 of Sausage Party: Foodtopia hits Prime Video on August 13th.
