The DreamCloud mattress lineup recently saw upgraded design and construction changes, and the new and improved model was well-received among our testers who varied in body type, preferred sleep posture and gender. 'I would recommend this mattress to someone who wants a slight upgrade from a more value-conscious model, without veering into the 'luxury' territory,' says one tester. 'There's just enough sink to feel cradled but enough firmness to feel supported. My back issue might really benefit with this kind of hybrid,' adds another. Whether they were 150 pounds or 250 pounds, our testers praised the DreamCloud for its balanced feel and ability to relieve pressure without compromising on support.
The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is 12 inches tall and contains a blend of comfortable foam layers with supportive spring coils. Although, if you prefer a memory foam feel without coils, you can upgrade to the all-foam model for around $150 more.

The brand rates the bed as firm, but our testers found it has an ample amount of cushion that makes it feel closer to a medium-firm instead, or a 6 to 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. 'It has a lifted, cushiony feel. You get a nice level of support and are more on the bed than in it. It also feels a touch softer than the previous model of this mattress,' says Bridget Chapman , Forbes Vetted's senior mattress and sleep editor.

Another tester echoes her thoughts and says, 'It feels cushiony on the top, but with a solid firmness underneath so there's no sinkage like a true memory foam mattress . As a result, we think the DreamCloud Hybrid is best for back, stomach and plus-size side sleepers (back sleeping received an 8.5 out of 10 and stomach sleeping scored an 8 out of 10). Pressure relief is an important aspect for all sleep postures, but especially side sleepers whose shoulders and hips take the brunt of force while they sleep. Because the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress has a dense, medium-firm profile, it's a little too stiff for most side sleepers, unless you weigh over 250 pounds. 'I feel a bit of pressure buildup in my hip, which is inadvertently causing some pressure between my stacked knees,' says a tester. Back and stomach sleepers, on the other hand, can feel the top cover's gentle cushioning ease pressure from the spine as they lie down. The top cover on the DreamCloud Mattress is woven with cooling polyethylene fibers that help combat memory foam's natural tendency to retain heat, and its innersprings allow for air to pass through easier than foam. Most testers called its cooling feel subtle to average, but it does help regulate temperature better than a traditional memory foam bed. If you sleep with a partner or pet, you've likely awoken in the middle of the night from their movements carrying across the bed. A bed with good motion isolation stops those movements in their tracks. We found that the DreamCloud's capabilities are average, as we gave this category a 7.5 out of 10. If you're a light sleeper or prefer a mattress that deadens all movement across a bed, consider the all-foam DreamCloud Mattress, which is great at absorbing motion.

Every sleeper should prioritize support no matter their primary sleep posture. Back, stomach and plus-size sleepers, however, benefit from extra support to prevent the hips and spine from dipping out of alignment. One tester over 250 pounds says, 'I feel no sagging or dipping while sleeping on my back. I tend to store a lot of stress in my shoulders and upper back, and they felt fully supported.' Another heavyweight tester adds, 'My lower back feels supported [while stomach sleeping], which is good considering this position usually tweaks my back.' In total, the DreamCloud Hybrid is built to withstand up to 1,000 pounds evenly distributed (500 pounds on each side).
In terms of edge support, or how sturdy the perimeter of the mattress is, the DreamCloud Hybrid performed well and scored an 8 out of 10. 'This has great edge support while lying down. I feel stable and like I could comfortably stay here all night,' says Chapman. This makes it a good choice for couples who share a small bed (full or queen size) and want to feel more supported along the side. It's also helpful for people with back problems or mobility issues, as the bed is easier to get in and out of. Ease Of Movement
Especially important for combination sleepers and those with pain, the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid scored a 9 out of 10 for ease of movement. 'This mattress has a bouncy feel that makes it easy to switch positions with minimal effort,' says a tester. Like most online mattresses, standard shipping is free for your DreamCloud and it arrives at your door inside of a box. However, you can upgrade to white glove delivery and old mattress removal for an extra cost. DreamCloud says you can start sleeping on the mattress after just a few hours but notes it could take up to 72 hours for it to fully expand. Trial Period And Returns
DreamCloud is one of the handful of mattress brands that offers a lengthy 365-night trial, in addition to free returns in the contiguous U.S. if you decide not to keep the mattress. As the brand's top-tier mattress model, the DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid offers soft contouring and doughiness that's more accommodating for side sleepers than the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid, plus it features better cooling power.
The Premier Memory Foam model from DreamCloud has a few more upgrades than the flagship hybrid mattress, including a Euro top that makes it feel more plush and luxurious along with extra cooling fibers for better temperature regulation. However, it's best for those under 250 pounds because of its all-foam design.

It has a medium-firm profile that's dense and cushioned at the same time, and we found it offers strong spinal reinforcement for back and stomach sleepers. 'This feels a touch softer than its predecessor, putting it in the true medium-firm range, and it has better edge support than the previous model,' says Chapman.
It's also a great option if you live with back pain, since it has solid edge support and provides good ease of movement. However, people who value stellar motion isolation should consider the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress or another all-foam model instead. Side sleepers should also consider another choice that's softer, especially those under 250 pounds, like the DreamCloud Luxe or the Ultra, which offer more contouring under the body's curves.
