Hero bouncer beaten by off-duty cops for stepping in when one was assaulting his wife

A restaurant bouncer is being praised as a hero for stepping in when an off-duty police officer was allegedly assaulting his wife. Jaiden Perkins, 25, broke his silence after he allegedly caught Officer Dylan Davis, 33, outside a California restaurant, shoving and choking his wife. The Ventura County Sheriff's Office released a statement after the March 30 incident, confirming that Davis and another officer, Anthony Malagon, 27, were arrested and placed on administrative leave due to a 'domestic incident.' Nearly two months after the alleged attack, Perkins is still grappling with what happened during his shift at the El Rey Cantina in Camarillo, a city north of Los Angeles. Perkins told KTLA that the sequence of events began when Perkins noticed Davis' wife crying at a table with her friends. Surveillance footage revealed Davis allegedly pushed his wife before she returned to sit with her friends. 'She's just frantically crying, seemed very not at ease, very shaky. I ask her if she's okay and she tells me nothing,' Perkins said. He added that her friends said she was okay, and he continued his shift. The group then exited the bar. The situation escalated when Perkins claims he heard shouting outside and rushed out to see Davis assaulting his wife. 'He shoved her down. She got back up and he just started choking her,' Perkins recalled. He said that the altercation prompted him to intervene and he allegedly informed Davis that he 'cannot be touching a lady like that.' Perkins said Davis then allegedly threatened to 'kill' him and swung on the left side of the bouncer's face. Perkins told the Ventura County Star that the behavior was unlike him, confessing, 'I'm very hands-off.' 'If something happens, I intervene, but I don't intervene physically.' When the off-duty cops allegedly threatened to kill Perkins, he replied, 'You're not killing anyone, man. I just called the police.' Perkins told the VC Star that one of the officers then allegedly taunted back, 'You mean my buddies? I'm a sheriff.' The bouncer allegedly hit Davis back, but Perkins said Malagon intervened, and the two deputies tackled him to the ground. 'In the moment, I thought, "I'm never going to see my children again,"' he told KTLA. Perkins told the outlet that the recovery from the alleged assault has been brutal, and he's had to quit his security job due to the trauma. He also had to leave his job at the grocery store and as an Amazon delivery driver because of the physical toll. Emergency authorities arrived on the scene after the alleged fight, and Perkins was rushed to a local hospital. He was diagnosed with a locked jaw, loss of consciousness, a concussion, and head and neck injuries, according to a claim filed by Perkins' lawyers. The claim also alleges that the officers discriminated against Perkins as an African American man. The claim seeks $10,000 for medical bills, $50,000 for loss of earnings, $500,000 in general damages, and $500,000 in punitive damages. Maximiliano Galindo, the attorney representing Perkins, told KTLA that Malagon has multiple family members serving in the sheriff's office Perkins told the VC Star that he doesn't believe the officers 'deserve any inkling of mercy.' 'They didn't give me any,' he added. 'It's sad that it's supposed to be Protect and Serve, and I was the one protecting his wife that night.' Maximiliano Galindo, the attorney representing Perkins, told KTLA that the officers' behavior was 'hotheaded.' He added that Malagon has multiple family members serving in the sheriff's department. Davis and Malagon both face felony charges, including battery causing serious injury and using force likely to cause significant injury. Davis was also arrested for inflicting injury on a spouse. The Ventura County Sheriff's Office released a statement that the major crimes bureau was handling the criminal investigation, and the internal affairs bureau was conducting a separate investigation. 'Both investigations are critical to ensure accountability at every level. I want to assure the public and our community that the Sheriff's Office takes this matter very seriously,' Sheriff Jim Fryhoff said. 'We hold our deputies to the highest standards of conduct; any violation of those standards will be addressed appropriately, without hesitation…as that is what both our community and our agency expect and deserve.'

Shock moment bouncer is punched to the floor by rowdy pubgoer as pair grapple in late-night brawl outside busy venue

THIS is the shocking moment a bouncer is punched to the ground by a rowdy pubgoer. Emergency services were called last week to reports of the nasty brawl outside a North London bar. 6 6 6 The incident, which took place on the evening of May 10, was captured by an onlooker and shared online. Dramatic footage shows a man throwing multiple punches at the bouncer as he leaves Boxpark bar in Camden. Dressed in a hoodie and carrying a backpack, the thug is seen grabbing the man's neck as the pair scramble on the floor. He is then seen trying to throw more punches at the defenceless bouncer, before security guards rush to their pal's aid. As they try and pull the pubgoer away, a crowd of onlookers peer over trying to capture the terrifying moment. The pair are seen scrambling on the floor before security guards detain the man. A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We were called at 10.25pm on Saturday 10th May to reports of an incident in Camden High Street, NW1. 'We sent an ambulance and treated a man before taking him to hospital.' This comes just weeks after a jockey still in his riding gear was bundled into a police car after a pub brawl which left a pensioner fighting for life. The horseman was taken away after a fight broke out between four men in the middle of the day. A 70-year-old who reportedly tried to break up the brawl was put in a critical but stable condition. The punch-up near the Waggon and Horses pub in Newmarket, Suffolk, prompted a response from five police cars, three ambulances and an air ambulance — ahead of Cheltenham Festival which starts today. A source said: 'People were drinking in the pub when a fight started. "An old chap out celebrating his birthday with his two sons went to break it up. 'It ended up outside and he hit his head on the kerb — everyone thought he was dead. He's still in hospital.' Suffolk Police said its officers were called to reports of a brawl at about 3.40pm, when they found two men with injuries sustained in the fight. 6 6 6

Moment rowdy female partygoer is tackled to the floor and arrested by cops outside pub as punters watch

THIS IS the moment a rowdy partygoer was tackled to the floor by a group of cops outside a bar in front of shocked punters. Footage shows a woman in a party dress and chunky sandals going up to a female police officer outside a pub. 4 4 The officer shoved her away, before two male cops helped restrain the woman. The trio pushed the punter down onto the pavement and handcuffed her. A bouncer seemingly went to step in before another dissuaded him. During the row, a small crowd of partygoers watched on with shock. The incident went down at Waxy's Little Sister on Wardour Street in Soho, next to Chinatown. Cops said they were on the scene dealing with a pickpocketing suspect. The woman in the party dress was "interfering with the situation" and was asked to leave, with cops saying she hit an officer in the chest. She was arrested on suspicion of assaulting and obstructing a police officer. Video of the row was posted on X, with some comments criticising the Met Police for their handling of the woman. One social media user called it a "bit harsh" and another asked why the cops were being "so heavy handed". A police spokesperson told The Sun: "After this footage came to light officers from our Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS) carried out a fast-time review of the incident. "Officers considered a number of factors, including the circumstances leading up to the incident, whether the use of force was proportionate, and all available footage. "Officers were in Wardour Street, W1 at around 22.00hrs on Saturday, 17 May dealing with a suspect who had been ejected from a nearby pub following an attempted pickpocketing. "The woman in the video was asked on numerous occasions to leave the vicinity as she was interfering in the situation. She kept returning and on the final occasion, body worn video footage showed her striking an officer in the chest. Officers then detained her. "DPS concluded that officers acted appropriately and no disciplinary matters have been identified. "The woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting and obstructing a police officer. She was taken into custody and later accepted a caution for the offence." Earlier this month, shocked members of the public came across "fighting right in the middle of the road" when a pub row spilled onto the street. Footage appeared to show Hull City's captain, his teamate and ex-pro boxer brothers in a daylight brawl. The Championship club's topless skipper Lewie Coyle, 29, was seen being led away from a spat by his brother Rocco, 18, in Hull city centre. Hull City acknowledged the video and said they are looking into the matter. 4

Moment punter punches bouncer to the ground at London Boxpark before being wrestled to the ground by security

This is the shocking moment a punter was caught on camera punching a bouncer to the ground at Boxpark in London before security wrestled him to the ground. The incident happened on the evening of May 12 at Boxpark's Camden location. Footage shows a bouncer brawling with two angry revellers before one punches him in the face, knocking him to the ground. A huge scuffle erupted with more people joining before security quickly intervened and attempted to pull the punter off of the floored bouncer.
