I was fed up of neighbours looking through my fence – a £18 B&M buy gave me instant privacy & it looks so good

WHILE we all enjoy getting on with our neighbours, there's nothing wrong with wanting some privacy. And one woman has shared the easy and cheap buy to keep neighbours from looking into your garden. 2 2 Taking to social media, Steph Varnie decided to fence off her outdoor space. Her wooden panelled fence had large spaces in between them, which she wanted to cover up. So, she decided to head to B&M to solve the problem. Steph bought the Split Bamboo Screening for just £18 from the budget retailer. She wrote: "Let's get some screening up," with the hashtag privacy screen. In the clip, she showed herself putting it up along her fence to create more privacy. It was clearly an easy DIY task to do as Steph was able to do it alone with a staple gun to secure it in place. The bamboo screen was 2 metres in length, which meant Steph still had a small gap that went uncovered. "Shame I was just out... Need to think what to do with that little section at the end," she said. She went on to ask others how to cover the gap and many suggested buying another screen to cover it and make it thicker for more privacy. I made a DIY fence for £68 with pallets from Facebook Marketplace - it gives more privacy & people say it's 'fantastic' The clip was posted to her TikTok account @ steph_varnie with over 162k views and 300 likes. One person wrote: "Ours lasted years, we put one lot up and then added another on top for extra privacy." Another commented: 'We've done the same. 3 rolls deep to block out the neighbours, made a beautiful border now we have a private garden." "You did an amazing job," penned a third. Meanwhile a fourth said: "Double it up for more privacy." "Should have started from that end more privacy from neighbours,' claimed a fifth.

B&M is selling a garden gadget that will light up your space – and it's got EVEN cheaper at just £1

A POPULAR garden gadget that lights up your outdoor space is now available for just £1 at B&M. The latest addition to the retailer's seasonal range has already seen plenty of attention online with garden fans snapping up the bargain buy. The Modern Solar Table Lamp has been reduced again to just £1, down from £1.50. The item is described as "great for providing a warm white LED light at night". Simply place in a sunlit area during the day and watch them burst into life as the sun sets. It's caused a buzz on social media too, with more than 260 likes in under a day. Posting on Instagram, B&M said: 'Is your Garden summer ready? Now's the time to turn your outdoor space into the ultimate summer sanctuary and we're here to help you do it for less. Big reductions. Beautiful results.' Shoppers have been flocking to buy up a range of garden lights the budget retailer has to offer. Also up for grabs on a discount is B&M's Dome Solar Light Post for just £2, down from £2.50. If you're looking to add a bit more colour to your garden, these posts will add a colourful glow at night. You can also buy their Morocco Solar Light Post for the same price. Perfect for lighting up your pathways, the item contains a realistic flame effect providing an ambient glow to your outdoor spaces. You can purchase something similar in bulk too with a pack of five Morocco Solar Powered Post lights available for just £10. If these aren't quite your style, shoppers are also nabbing the Solar Bubble Ball Ground lights - a 20-pack of cool white LEDs for £8, ideal for lining borders or lighting paths. There's plenty of deals to be had elsewhere too. Lidl shoppers have been racing to the stores this month to get their hands on their five-pack of LED solar lights for just £4.49. Working out at just 89p per light, it makes then one of the most affordable options available on the high street right now. Aldi have also just launched their new tropical paradise inspired garden range with cheap items and gadgets from £4.99. This range includes a range of lighting options from their Party Spring Lights for £4.99 or their slightly more expensive Solar Acapulco Lantern for £6.99. How to save money at B&M The B&M scanner app is free to download onto your smartphone via the Apple App Store or Google Play and flags potential bargains. Once downloaded, use the camera on your phone to scan product barcodes around the store. The app then tells you the true price of that product, which is sometimes much lower than the price tag says it is. One shopper used the app to get a £10 long hot water bottle for just 10p. The best time to get cut-price products is 10am on a Wednesday, according to one ex B&M manager. This is when staff slash items to as little as 10p to clear excess stock and make way for new products. Deals expert Tom Church said to keep an eye out for red sticker products as well. 5 ways to save money in your garden Garden design experts at Lighting Legends have revealed the ways you can lower gardening costs. 1. Install a water butt Water butts are a large container that sits in your garden and collects rainwater. This water can then be used to water plants, top up ponds or water features and wash the patio and other garden furniture. The natural outdoor water could help you save money on your water bills as you are less likely to use a hose during the summer months. 2. Use solar powered or LED lighting Solar powered lights get their energy from the sunlight in the day so they can illuminate your garden at night. They're easy to install and are a great choice for keeping electricity bills low. LED lights are another option that are long lasting and energy efficient. 3. Grow your own salad and vegetables Growing your own salad and vegetables will not only save you money but it can also feel really rewarding. Things like lettuce, radishes, and spinach are all fairly easy to grow. 4. Upcycle waste and rubbish Get creative and start upcycling items instead of throwing them away. Use sticks from ice lollies as plant tags or turn old watering cans and wheelbarrows into planters instead of buying new pots. Once you get creative the ways to upcycle are endless. 5. Start composting Start composting your kitchen scraps like vegetable peelings and coffee grounds and combine them with garden waste such as leaves and grass clippings to create a nutrient rich compost. This could reduce your need to spend money on expensive fertilisers.

I bought a $30 item from Kmart - and it's my favourite cleaning find of 2025

A humble household chore item has been declared the 'cleaning find of 2025' – and it can be purchased for just $30. A recent video shared to the Kmart Australia social media accounts demonstrated the 3-in-1 Mop and Bucket Set, with fans quickly pouring into the comments section to confirm it's 'the best mop I've ever used'. While a mop hardly sounds like a groundbreaking cleaning tool, the mass budget retailer's latest offering stands apart thanks to some clever upgrades to the mop bucket itself. The biggest difference is the mop's unique three-chamber separation bucket. As explained in the voice over, this chamber system removes a common gripe people have while mopping. 'One of the reasons why I didn't enjoy mopping in the past was it felt like I was just moving around dirty water on the floors,' they confirmed. The correlating caption on the video post confirmed that the unique bucket chamber 'keeps clean and dirty water separate – so every swipe actually helps clean'. Demonstrating the three-chamber system in action, the video starts by showing how to fill the far-right chamber with fresh water and detergent. The video then proceeds along to the middle chamber, which has a tap-like dial on top of the bucket, which allows clean sudsy water to filter in from the first chamber. On top of the middle chamber is a slim opening for the mop head to be neatly inserted and dipped into the clean water. Next, as you wring the mop by lifting it up and out of the bucket, any watery remnants from the mop pad filter into the adjacent third 'dirty water' compartment. 'When you lift this up, it rings the dirty water out on this side,' explains the video voice over. The video also explained that in the event the third 'dirty water' compartment needed to be emptied, there was also a convenient 'nozzle' cap on the side that can be released to allow dirty water to drain out of the side of the bucket. One of the other features highlighted in the video was its ability to be compactly stored, which is especially useful for those in smaller homes where storage space is at a premium. All the mop's components can be disassembled and neatly packed into the bucket itself – which also helps prevent losing any parts. The microfibre mop heads are additionally detachable and machine washable. In the event that the mop heads become completely worn out, Kmart also stock a 2-pack of Mop Set Refills for $4. Kmart shoppers took to the comments section to declare their excitement over the simple yet 'gamechanger' upgrade to the basic mop and bucket. 'I absolutely love this mop - I threw out my expensive one for this!' said one happy convert adding, that their 'floors have never been so clean'. 'I bought one today and I absolutely love it,' said another. 'The best mop I've ever used!' chimed in a third. 'This is game changer. I love it! Cheap and working great,' added another happy customer. Other online Kmart fans noted the additional cleaning 'hack' of using this mop as a wall cleaning device. 'The best wall washer,' said one fan. 'I do home cleaning and this is, a life saver, for wall, ceilings and floors, win-win,' confirmed another. '[W]alls + grubby kids + this mop = clean walls,' read part of a third comment. The new 3-in-1 Mop Bucket is just the latest Kmart cleaning tool that's upped the mundane task of house chores. The budget retailer also recently released the Anko Robotic Vacuum, which promptly sold out online and is extremely difficult to find in stores. The $169 Kmart item has been heralded as a great value entry-level robotic vacuum that works well on light messes and is ideal for small households. This robo vac is also marketed as a 3-in-1 device, which can simultaneously 'sweep, vacuum and mop', thanks to the addition of a water tank attachment and mop head.

Shoppers race to B&M for £6 fence that instantly divides gardens from their neighbours & they even have a £4 version

MORE and more people are spending time in their gardens now that the sunshine has finally arrived. So it's no surprise that many are beginning to notice areas that could do with a bit of TLC. 4 4 Whether it's adding a few extra plants to brighten up the space or realising that your garden could do with a bit more privacy from your neighbours, spending more time outdoors often highlights these little details. Fortunately, you don't have to break the bank to spruce up your garden. Local supermarkets and budget retailers may have just what you need. Unsurprisingly, B&M has become a go-to destination for gardening essentials, offering affordable solutions that make a big difference. One popular product is a hammer-in fence that instantly divides gardens from neighbours. Haz shared a video with her 7,420 followers, showing exactly where to find this handy garden divider. B&M has also confirmed that the fence is ideal for use around curved paths or flower beds, making it a versatile addition to any garden. In addition to the fence, the budget retailer is selling a four-pack of stone-effect lawn edging for just £4 in grey, which Haz described as 'cute.' Gardeners rush to B&Q to snap up £15 bargain that will transform your home into a Mediterranean paradise, and they're cheaper than Home Bargains Her video received 116k views within a day of being shared, along with 453 likes and 20 comments. One viewer commented: 'I love the B&M garden ranges,' to which Haz replied: 'I've never looked properly before until now, and it slaps.' Another follower added: 'B&M is the best.' Reflecting on how easy it is to splurge in the shop, Haz admitted: 'Haven't been in months, then been three times in a week. "It's dangerous in there.' 4 May gardening jobs The Sun's Gardening Editor, Veronica Lorraine, has shared the tasks you need to crack on with in May. GARDEN growth can go from nought to ninety in May, depending on the weather. The last UK frosts are generally seen at the beginning of the month, so all of a sudden there's so much more to do and grow. Plant out dahlia tubers It's a joy to finally plant out your dahlia tubers. Remember how big they can get - and space accordingly - anything up to half a metre apart. It's a good idea to put your support stakes in now instead of trying to work around them. And make sure you include lots of well rotted manure or decent compost to feed it and then mulch to keep it moist and suppress weeds. They generally start blooming in July. Final feed to Spring flowers You can give a cheeky feed to all your remaining tulips and daffodils. Although the majority of bulbs aren't guaranteed to come back year after year any more, as long as you've left them to die back naturally there's a good chance they'll have stored enough energy to come back again. Tomato feed is fine. Tie up climbers Your clematis, honeysuckle and rambling roses should be well on their way by now - try to use plastic free string to tie them back into their support, or tuck them round each other to make sure they don't sprout off in crazy directions. Feed the lawn It's not too late to give your lawn a good feed. Whether you use granular or liquid, it can give it a good boost to see it through the harsher summer months. While mowing, don't go too low with your cut length yet and never take more than a third off the grass height. Get creative It's also time to get creative with hanging baskets and pots. Trailing pelargoniums, which a lot of people call geraniums, and Begonias are a good, low cost way of getting lovely returning blooms throughout the summer in your baskets. And pots can be planted with spring bulbs. Don't forget the greenhouse! Give your greenhouse a good tidy and clean the glass inside and out. The improved light will help plants grow quicker inside and tidying is good for the soul. You can just use a household white wine vinegar and water solution - or even neat if you're feeling spendy - which gives a really good shine.
