Poundland is shutting ANOTHER branch for good after announcing 25 closures in major shake-up – see the full list
POUNDLAND has shut down yet another location in a string of recent closures. It comes after the budget retailer launched a restructuring plan last month. 2 Poundland closed the doors of its Whiteley location for the final time on Monday, July 21. The closure was confirmed in a post on social media from the Whiteley Shopping Centre. A representative expressed sadness in seeing Poundland leave the premises. Local reaction "We're sad to see you go, Poundland. We're truly saddened to share that our local Poundland has now closed its doors," a representative said. "It's been a part of our community for years, offering great value and friendly service, and it will certainly be missed. 'We want to wish the whole team at Poundland all the very best for the future — thank you for everything." They added that shoppers could still find another Poundland location nearby. "For anyone still looking to shop at Poundland, the nearest store is now in Fareham on West Street," the post read. String of closures Poundland stores across the country are facing uncertainty, as the brand announced 25 locations will close in the coming weeks. Plans were submitted to the courts to close 68 shops as part of the new owners restructuring. ‘Here to stay': Kmart responds to divisive homewares trend
It's a colour that can instantly reveal someone's age – but despite it's confronting ability to expose us, one of Australia's biggest retailers said it's not going anywhere. 'Millennial green' is a recently coined term which refers to the trend of using various shades of muted, earthy greens in interior design, particularly among those aged 29 to 44 years old. While undoubtedly popular, the colour's apparent power to out those in the millennial age group, has proved unsavoury among some online. After being brutally labelled 'the new sad beige' by several critics on TikTok, some have sworn off the trendy colour – but now Kmart has weighed in on the debate, declaring it is 'here to stay'. Speaking at a showing of the budget retailer's new homewares range, buyer Nic Holmes said green – particularly the sage shade – was a trend that was going nowhere anytime soon. 'Millennial green is here to stay. I fall into the category where everyone loves it, and I look around my house and think, 'ohh, I've got a lot of green',' the long-running Kmart staffer told 'The design team, who are currently working two seasons ahead in 2027, are still seeing green introduced and carrying on.' Because of this, the store's 2025 August living range, designed to help 'Australians refresh their homes at everyday low prices', has 'millennial green' wove through every category, from homewares to kitchen accessories. The trendy hue even has a starring moment in Kmart's new 'expandable' range, with a green lounge chair that comes in a compact box before expanding once opened. Priced at $169, the Como Chenille Lounge Chair only recently hit stores, but it's already proving incredibly popular. 'Run to Kmart for this new release,' one TikTok user declared in a video. As another, who showed how you could use three of them to make a couch, described the item as a 'good little buy'. 'They're soooo comfortable! Got mine last night,' one raved in the comments section. 'You're kiddddding these are Kmart?!' shared another. As one added: 'Obsessed!' Mr Holmes also shared his tips on styling with the colour, explaining that to nail the green trend, it was 'all about layering different tones of green'. 'This trend is not going to go anywhere because the colour is just too versatile,' he shared. 'We call it the new neutral, so if you're a neutral cream customer, and you introduce the sage greens to your home, the palettes work so well together. 'The exciting thing for me is that it is going to be forecast as continuing to grow, it's going to explode.' Kmart said the expanded furniture offering is a 'major highlight this season', adding that it features exciting new innovations that have been compressed to make it 'easier than ever to shop large furniture'. 'Key pieces include the ever-popular Nate Range which has now been extended and reimagined in black with slatted panelling and lozenge shapes,' a spokesperson said. 'There's also the Charles Cabinet ($89) with bold ball feet and arched panels and additional items like the Wave Bedhead ($139) and the Mali Lounge Chair ($179), are expected to be high-impact hero items for customers.'

Primark's genius 5-piece buy costs just £1 & means you can bring ALL your favourite liquids in your carry-on this summer
TRYING to pack for a holiday is never an easy task, but it's even worse when you're just relying on hand luggage. Not only do you have to squeeze in multiple outfits and shoes, you also have the issue of finding space for liquids. 2 Liquids are particularly difficult as you are only able to bring 1 litre of it with you in hand luggage. And to make it even harder, each liquid has to be in packages that are under 100ml, even if the product is only half full. Most airports also ask you to place the liquids into a small plastic bag, and many limit one bag per flyer. That can make it massively difficult for us to fit our favourite perfume, bodycare, skincare and make-up into the tiny plastic bags. Too many times have we been caught out by the liquid limitations and had to throw away a deodorant or toothpaste before even making it through security. But there's an easy solution to prevent you from having to throw your toiletries away. You can, of course, use a bar of soap instead of shower gel, and you can even swap liquid shampoo for a shampoo bar as well. This will not only save you money from buying the mini toiletries, but gives you more space for your liquid limit too. But for those pesky toiletries like foundation or face wash, there's an even cheaper option available thanks to Primark. The budget retailer is selling a five-piece travel bottle set for just £1. Primark launches new range of cabin bags on wheels - they're approved by all budget airlines & there's matching carry-ons too The pack comes with a spray bottle for heat protection spray, a dispenser bottle for body lotion, two squeeze bottles for shower gel and hair products and a small plastic tub. This means you can decant your larger must-have products into smaller packaging so you don't have to miss them on your travels. The set also comes with stickers so you can label each product as well as a pourer to make sure moving your liquid products doesn't get messy. It's the perfect way to store products in your carry-on without them taking up lots of space. Holiday packing tips Jemma Solomon, aka The Label Lady has got 5 packing tips to help you get organised for your next holiday. 1. Write a list Think about all the essentials you need to take with you; suncream, medicine, a few games for the kids, beach towels, and write everything in one list, which you can tick off as you add it to your suitcase. Or for complete ease, try Google's AI app - Gemini - which will create a list for you and help you not over pack. 2. Involve your kids Jemma said: 'My girls are getting older, they're 11 and nine, and they enjoy helping to pack. So I send them a list, and say 'this is what you need' and they follow the list. 'And then I give them a rucksack each - and say to them 'you can have whatever you want in there as long as it's not liquid', and they can take that on the plane. And that's their 'home away from home' items.' 3. Try a hack or two She said: "I think they all work, but for different reasons - and you've just got to pick the right one for your trip. "Rolling your clothes is really good to stop your clothes from getting creases. And if you're trying to get a lot of items into your case, it's a space saver. 'Packing cubes are great - for example, I'm going on holiday with my three kids and we're all using the same suitcase for our clothes. "These handy compartments let you separate your clothes, toiletries and tech into designated cubes, maximising luggage space by keeping your items compressed and neatly stacked. "I love taking them abroad with the family and it means my kids can easily take charge of their own items once we've arrived." 4. Decant beauty products Do you really need to take full-size bottles of shampoo and conditioner with you? The beauty industry has evolved so much, you can now buy shampoo bars or sheets - which are much lighter and smaller. Or, if you'll be popping to the shops when you're abroad, consider buying some items when you arrive. 5. Get organised before you come home Jemma said: 'When you repack on holiday [before coming home], the trick is to separate clean from dirty clothes. 'Also pack it in some form of order - so lights, darks, colours for items that need washing, or if you wash your clothes by person in the household, piles for each person. "Then you can put it straight into the washing machine. Do it straight away, don't leave it." More Travel Buys It's not the only travel must-have Primark shoppers a re going wild for. Primark's underseat bag has racked up a legion of fans, and measures 40x20x25cm, when its wheels are removed, meaning it's fully compliant with Ryanair's underseat baggage dimensions (40x20x25cm) TikTok user Pia Blossom decided to put it to the test and see how much the popular tiny bag can hold - while being within the regulations. It's also ideal for EasyJet customers, with their under-seat cabin bag's maximum dimensions being 45x36x20cm, including handles and wheels. She said: 'I am a chronic overpacker that refuses to pay for luggage, so this is ideal. 'Shall we see how much we can fit in it? Getting to work, Pia managed to add a 'couple of dresses, a couple of jackets, cardigan, underwear, spare bra and [two pairs of] summery shoes.' She also added a jacket and pyjamas and was thrilled to see it all fit in easily to the £25 cabin bag. 'This is closing much easier than I thought it would, which feels like a challenge to put more in," she joked.

Kmart releases popular furniture item for $85
A brand new $85 product from Kmart has caught the eye of shoppers before even hitting stores. The Kmart Expanding Chair is yet to be released by the popular budget retailer, both in store and online, but it dropped in a small number of stores three weeks before it was due to hit shelves, sending social media users into a frenzy. The 12kg chair, which comes compacted before expanding as per the name, retails for $85 and comes in a green corduroy or a white fluffy fabric. TikTok user @kittysaltyy posted a video of the hot ticket item when she initially snapped one up, as well as a 24-hour update. 'As far as my review goes, it is super solid. Very heavy, it seems to be holding its shape well,' she said. 'I wouldn't necessarily say run to go get one — it's not that great but I kinda like it.' She said when she purchased it, she thought it was going to be a full sized armchair, but her cats loved it and it was comfortable. She said it was cute and liked having something closer to the floor. In response to some questions from fellow social media users, the TikTok creator said the chair didn't have a smell of any kind and the cover came off so it could be washed. Many social media users were excited by the idea. 'Keen to see how it turns out,' one person said. Another added: 'I can't find it on their website! I need it.' 'OMG running to get one for my cats. Thank you,' another cat owner commented. Someone else mentioned: 'I cant wait to see. I'm forever seeing these on ads so I love that Kmart has jumped on the trend!!' 'I feel like it is a good pet bed. Kmart got that advertising wrong,' one commented. Another added: 'I need three for my kids! They're perfect kid sized!!!' 'No because PLEASE tell me you accidentally LIED when you said you got it from Kmart!!! I LITERALLY CANT FIND IT AND I NEEEEDDDD THIS CHAIR,' another commented. But some people were hooked on the price point after @kittysaltyy said she felt like it was reasonable for a 'literal arm chair'. Holiday makers are rushing to Primark to snap up their colourful £2.50 bikinis & they are also mix and match
PRIMARK fans are raving about their 'mix and match' bikinis which are down to just £2.50. The budget retailer is selling a whole range of colourful swimsuits, which look perfect for holidays or sunbathing in the garden. 5 5 Shopper Claire, who posts under @claireeaford, filmed the display she spotted in her local store. One of the pretty designs was an orange, yellow and white striped triangle bikini, which could be matched with some identical bottoms. However, they also had solid orange bottoms if you'd prefer this. They also had leopard print two-piece swimsuits, along with classic black ones. Meanwhile, Primark is also selling some lemon-themed ones, which look perfect for Italy. Claire wrote: 'Primark's summer collection. 'The bikini tops & bottoms are £2.50 each so you can mix and match.' The good news about buying the top and bottom pieces separately is that you can get exactly the right size for your body. And for a whole bikini set for £5, it certainly is a bargain compared to pricier brands. Her video has racked up over 64,000 likes, and people were quick to chime in with their views. One said: 'I got the LEPORD print one.' A second added: 'Need to go primarkkkk.' Primark's social media team previously took to Instagram to share a reel of some of this year's designs. They assured that the iconic store will be 'serving beach fits all summer long'.
