Smith added 62 in just 35 balls with fellow opener Nat Wraith, but Rockets were pegged back as both were dismissed in the space of three balls by seamer Eva combined with Australia all-rounder Gardner for a stand of 60, though a collapse of four wickets for 11 runs at the death saw Spirit fight back strongly as Gray finished with impressive figures of 4-19. But Sciver-Brunt reached her fifty with a six off Charlie Dean from the last ball of the Rockets' innings, pushing them to the competitive total and adding to a difficult day for the Spirit captain as she finished with figures of 0-40 from just 15 balls. Table England batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge's 59 from 39 balls and a fine all-round display from Sophie Devine led Southern Brave to a 15-run win against Birmingham Phoenix in the women's Hundred. Phoenix slipped to 22-3 in pursuit of 140 to win, but captain Ellyse Perry led a revival with stands of 37 with England's Amy Jones and 36 with Sterre Kalis. The visitors were in a strong position with 45 needed from the last 30 balls, but New Zealand all-rounder Devine crucially dismissed Perry for 26 to spark a collapse from 95-4 to 124 all out. Devine also held on to the catch to dismiss Jones for 20, removed Ailsa Lister for one and executed a brilliant run out in her follow-through to get rid of Megan Schutt for seven as Phoenix's lower order buckled under the pressure, with nobody able to support Kalis' 44 from 34 balls. England seamer Lauren Bell also impressed for Brave, with 3-17 to continue her fine form after a three-wicket haul in their opening win against Manchester Originals on Wednesday. Earlier, Wyatt-Hodge added 52 for the third wicket with Devine, who made 27, after Maia Bouchier fell cheaply for six and South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt made a fluent 28. Originals edge Invincibles in last-ball thriller
The Hundred women's competition, The Oval Manchester Originals 139-6 (100 balls): Mooney 70 (45); Kapp 2-22 Oval Invincibles 137-3 (100 balls): Lanning 56 (42); Ecclestone 1-18 Originals won by two runs Scorecard. Table Manchester Originals held their nerve to claim a dramatic two-run win over Oval Invincibles in The Hundred. Having set the Invincibles 140 to win, with captain Beth Mooney hitting a fine 70 from 45 balls, the Originals took just three wickets but maintained their discipline as the match went down to the last ball. The game swung one way then the other in the closing stages, culminating in the Invincibles needing four to win off the final ball. But Originals all-rounder Deandra Dottin nailed her yorker and Marizanne Kapp could only dig it out for a single. Former Australia captain Meg Lanning led the way in the chase and when she was dropped on 52, with the ball going for four after slipping through Fi Morris' grasp, it looked like being the Invincibles' day. However, she was caught in the deep next delivery and, despite Paige Scholfield thumping Dottin for six to leave the hosts needing five from two balls, the Invincibles fell to a second loss in two games. Originals can celebrate their first win of the campaign - and their first over Invincibles in The Hundred. The Hundred 2025 - fixtures, results & reports What is happening on Sunday?
