Are promises for Cheltenham's Golden Valley being diluted?
Billed as one solution to the ever-growing housing need in Cheltenham, the £1bn Golden Valley cyber and housing project promises to deliver thousands of new developers are also planning to build a world-leading National Cyber Innovation Centre and create more than 10,000 scheme was first conceived in 2017 and an overall planning application was submitted in 2023. In a statement, CBC councillor Alisha Lewis said the authority was "proud" of the scale of investment in the Golden said it had already increased the amount of affordable housing in the southern part of the development from zero to 26%.Ms Lewis said she hoped there would be opportunities to increase affordable housing provision in later added: "We're working with local housing experts to make sure the homes we do build meet Cheltenham's real needs, from accessible homes to larger properties for families, and a mix of different tenures."Our priority is not just to build homes, but to build the right ones, for the people who need them most."She said the borough council was building more purpose-built affordable homes than ever before.

4 arrested for running illegal betting website
Kolkata: Bidhannagar Police, with help from the cyber crime wing, arrested four persons, including a Nepali national, for operating an illegal online betting website. The accused — Debjit Basak (26), Ankit Gupta (27), Kushal Roy (28), and Sambhu B K (32) — were nabbed during a raid at a condominium in New Town on Wednesday. The website, sources said, took bets of around Rs 30 crore during the last IPL tournament and deceived thousands with promises of substantial profits. They carried out operations across Nepal and Sri Lanka, too. Cops also seized smartphones, SIM cards, laptops, ATM cards allegedly obtained through forged documents, and Indian and Nepali passports. SI Debabrata Banerjee of Bidhannagar cyber crime PS is leading the probe to nab other members of the gang.
