Jennifer Lopez Kicks Off 2025 AMAs Dancing to Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan Hits
Jennifer Lopez kicked off the 2025 American Music Awards with an extensive six-minute dance number soundtracked to biggest songs of the past year. The 'On The Floor' singer began the night with her own hit 'Dance Again' before launching into a dance performance featuring songs from various nominated artists. Lopez commenced the hybrid number to the tune of Kendrick Lamar's 'squabble up,' before transitioning into including Shaboozey's 'A Bar Song,' Bruno Mars and Rosé's 'APT.', Post Malone's 'I Had Some Help,' Chappell Roan's 'Hot To Go!,' Billie Eilish's 'Birds of a Feather' and Benson Boone's 'Beautiful Things,' among others. Lopez is pulling double duty Monday night, acting as host Monday evening along with her role as one of the award show's many performers. 'Tonight, the spotlight belongs to you because this is the world's largest fan voting award show where you decide the winners,' Lopez told the crowd during her monologue after the performance. 'And this year, yes, there were more votes than ever before.' Janet Jackson is set to be honored with the Icon Award later Monday evening, and she'll be performing her first television performance in seven years. Previously, the 'That's the Way Love Goes' singer received the Billboard Music Awards Icon Award in 2018, where she performed a medley of 'Nasty,' 'If' and 'Throb.' Rod Stewart is another special honoree at the night's ceremony, receiving the lifetime achievement award. The 2025 AMAs marked Stewart's first time he was on the AMAs stage in over two decades since his last appearance in 2004. Heading into Monday night, Lamar led this year's nominees with 10 nominations, followed closely by Malone, Eilish, Roan and Shaboozey. The AMAs are produced by Dick Clark Productions. DCP is owned by Penske Media Corporation, The Hollywood Reporter's parent company, in a subsidiary joint venture between Penske Media and Eldridge. Denver's Cleo Parker Robinson Dance celebrates women with Legacy concert
Cleo Parker Robinson Dance is offering a Mother's Day treat for Denver audiences. The dance company is performing its spring concert called Unstoppable Legacy. The program is a celebration of women. CBS It features a new work by award winning dancer/choreographer Hope Boykin. She recently spent some time in Denver to put the final touches on the piece which will be come part of the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance repertory. "It is a combination of everything she's ever experienced in her work, as a choreographer, as a motivator, as an extraordinary, strong woman," said Cleo Parker Robinson, Founder & Artistic Director of Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. The Unstoppable Legacy concert will also include a new piece by Associate Artistic Director Winifred Harris called Internal Landscapes. Parker Robinson is reconstructing Mary Lou's Mass, a piece she originally choreographed 20-years ago. "This concert really has a little of the past... a little we've been so we have Katherine Dunam's excerpt from Southland, so we have that excellent work that she did that's never been shown in our country," Parker Robinson explained. CBS Unstoppable Legacy is four incredible pieces that are created by women and explore the emotions, relationships and achievements of women. "We're honoring women, and all the work that women do, and have done, and will do," Parker Robinson said with a laugh. Amy Dowden makes Strictly Come Dancing return for special BBC VE Day performance
Amy Dowden reunited with her fellow Strictly Come Dancing professionals for a special performance during the BBC 's VE Day 80 celebrations on Thursday, 8 May at London's Horse Guards Parade. The dancer, 34, performed during Fleur East's opening rendition of 'I Got Rhythm' in front of veterans and members of the royal family, including King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales. In April, the BBC confirmed that Dowden will return to the dancing competition for the 2025 series. She had to pull out of the 2024 series due to injury, after returning to the show following treatment for breast cancer.
