[UPDATED] Police confirm nudity at marriage motivation programme
SHAH ALAM: Police have confirmed that nudity occurred during the recent eHati marriage motivation programme. Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said four facilitators were involved in a "rebirth" ritual during the event where they were naked. "Based on our investigations, participants were charged between RM6,000 and RM9,000 for two separate packages. "Those who paid for the RM9,000 package were granted access to a 'Queens Night' scene where nudity was involved," he told reporters today. He said investigations revealed that participants included professionals and civil servants. "The participants came from all over the country. One of them was traced and caught in Kedah. "Based on our checks, the event was not religious or Islamic in nature but based more on motivation," he said, adding that participants from different religions were also involved as it aimed to help them rediscover happiness. He said these programmes had been conducted in the past but police believed this was the first time the "Queens Night" ritual was performed. "We have gathered various liquid samples from the event for further analysis by the Chemistry Department to identify if they were laced with drugs or prohibited substances. "We have a list of the 50 people, including participants, who attended the event. "To date, we have already recorded statements from 30 of them, including the organisers and facilitators. "Those who have yet to come forward should do so immediately," he said, adding that stern action would be taken, including making arrests. It was reported that eHati International Sdn Bhd founders Diyana Tahir and Rahim Shukor, along with four others, have been remanded for three days. The remand order was issued by magistrate Ameera Mastura Khamis after the four women and two men, aged 26 to 57, were brought before the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court. They are being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person, Section 294 of the Penal Code for indecent behaviour, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act. Lawyer Datuk M. Reza Hassan, who is representing four of the six, including the couple and their child, said he has filed an application to review the decision to allow a three-day remand. Yesterday, it was reported that Diyana and Rahim were detained after giving their statements at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters. The couple have denied allegations of spiked drinks and deviant practices at one of their recent events. They also said they have lodged a police report and a report with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission over the claims.

SHAH ALAM : Police have confirmed that the controversial eHati marriage motivation programme held last year featured an activity involving nudity. Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the nudity-related acts took place during the 'Queens Night' segment on the final day of the programme, held from Sept 27 to 30, 2024. 'There were two packages offered as part of the programme – Package A, priced at about RM6,000, and Package B, at about RM9,000, which included the Queens Night,' he told a press conference at the state police headquarters here today. This follows claims by a Facebook user alleging that a female speaker, initially dressed in a bikini, had stripped naked and danced with participants during the event's final night. They allegedly encouraged participants to follow suit, and remove their clothes after giving them a 'mysterious' drink. Hussein urged those involved in the programme to come forward and give their statements. He said six people have been arrested so far, comprising four women and two men, including two married couples. Police also seized several items, including liquids, as part of their investigation. Statements have also been recorded from 30 people, including the event's organisers and participants. Yesterday, police arrested Diyana Tahir and Rahim Shukor, the founders of eHati International Sdn Bhd, and raided their home after they gave their statements at the police headquarters. The couple previously denied promoting obscene acts and insulting behaviour in their eHati marriage motivation programme, saying the activities were aligned with Islamic values. Police are investigating the programme under criminal laws covering obscene acts, modesty, and public decency.

SHAH ALAM: eHati International Sdn Bhd founders Diyana Tahir and Rahim Shukor, along with four others, have been remanded for three days. The remand order was issued by Magistrate Ameera Mastura Khamis after the four women and two men aged 26 to 57, were brought before the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court. They are being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person, Section 294 of the Penal Code for indecent behaviour, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act. Lawyer Datuk M. Reza Hassan, who is representing four of the six, including the couple and their child, said he has filed an application to review the decision to allow a three-day remand. "One of my clients submitted a medical report as they are unwell, but the court did not accept it, which is why we filed the review application," he said when met at the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court today. Earlier, all six suspects arrived at the court at 11am for the remand application. Yesterday, it was reported that Diyana and Rahim were detained after giving their statements at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters. The couple have denied allegations of spiked drinks and deviant practices at one of their recent events. They also said they have lodged a police report and a report with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission over the claims.

This was due to a claim by Facebook user Masyitah Ashari alleging a programme by eHati involved strange rituals, sexy and ''naked'' dances, which go against Islamic teachings. She claimed that participants were also given Piya, a drink allegedly spiked with ''magic mushrooms,'' which allegedly caused some participants to behave strangely like removing their clothes while dancing. Image: TRP File The programmes help women Diyana and her husband, Rahim, shared that they're certified practitioners in hypnotherapy and all company programmes follow the professional ethical standards and local values and cultures. The programmes by eHati aim to help women in Malaysia, regardless of race and religion, to achieve peace, calm, motivation, and heal from deep seated trauma. They do this through several approaches including Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), psychotherapy, and hypnotherapy. The programme modules include sessions on breathwork, Trauma Release Exercise, and hypnotherapy to help participants achieve inner and mental calmness. The company believes all women deserve to enjoy a loving marriage and allegedly has never encouraged participants to forgo marriage. They aim to help couples improve and strengthen their relationship. The company founders also clarified the alleged Tantra massage that took place. They explained that the massage provided has been adapted to suit local sensibilities, which includes a combination of pelvic floor massage and Thai massage. They emphasised that the massages are an optional module and not forced on participants. No spiked drinks and deviant teachings Regarding the spiked Piya drink, the founders explained the drink was made by mixing raw cocoa, honey, and natural herbs to help calm the mind and body. They claimed the drink does not contain prohibited substances or magic mushrooms. Diyana and Rahim deny the claims that they brought participants to Bali, Indonesia to spread deviant teachings (ajaran sesat). The viral picture showed participants at a retreat doing breathwork and the flower decor was provided by the hotel and not a part of a ritual. The man in the picture is a health detox expert sharing his experience and not a spiritual guru. The programmes provide safe spaces for women In November 2022, they gave their statement to the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) about a programme offered by eHati. After some questioning, JAIS accepted the explanation and allowed the programme to continue. However, JAIS advised the company to include a Disclaimer, which they have done, so that participants understand the programme objectives clearly. Diyana and Rahim believe their programmes have given positive impacts to women in Malaysia. They describe their programmes as safe spaces for women and reiterated that they have not received any complaints regarding their service offerings thus far. They hope the public will not blindly listen to rumours but to verify facts before spreading them publicly. They reiterated that their programmes do not go against Islamic teachings and the marriage institution. They have lodged a police report on 12 July 2025 so a full investigation can take place and another report has been lodged with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). [UPDATED] eHati founders detained after giving police statements
KUALA LUMPUR: eHati International Sdn Bhd founders Diyana Tahir and Rahim Shukor were detained by the police today after giving their statements at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters. Their lawyer, Datuk M Reza Hassan, confirmed the matter, saying that their client was detained by Shah Alam district police after providing their statements at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters. He said their clients were detained under sections 294 (obscene songs) and 509 (Word or gesture intended to insult the modesty of a person) of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act. The New Straits Times has since reached out to police for confirmation of their arrests. Yesterday, it was reported that police will summon all participants of the recent eHati marriage motivation programme to have their statements recorded. Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said investigations were launched after an investigation paper was opened into the case. Hussein said more detailed investigations were needed to ascertain if there were obscene elements or teachings that deviated from societal norms, as has been alleged. Previously, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari had asked the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) to look into allegations of immoral activities occurring during the organisation of eHati programmes at a convention centre.
