Clairwood residents urged to prepare for one-hour power cut

THE public is advised of planned electricity outage which will interrupt electricity supply on Sunday, July 13 for one hour from 15:30 to 16:30. The supply interruption is required to allow eThekwini Electricity to safely energise the 33kV Bayhead, Rossburgh circuit at the Rossburgh substation. Only the Karim Lane substation will be affected by this outage. eThekwini Municipality's 10-hour power outage to affect 10 suburbs

The eThekwini Municipality has confirmed a planned 10-hour power outage which will interrupt electricity supply on Wednesday, 21 May. The outage is scheduled from 8:00 to approximately 18:00. The metro municipality said the scheduled outage is necessary to allow eThekwini Electricity unit to perform medium voltage switchgear maintenance at the Eastbury Substation to improve the reliability of the substation. To execute this work safely, it is necessary to interrupt electricity supply at the Eastbury Substation, the municipality said. Parts of the following areas will be affected: Brookdale Caneside Eastbury Forest Haven Grove End Longcroft Stanmore Sunford Westham Whetstone 'We urge customers in these areas to plan for this outage. However, customers that are not switched off by 8.30 can assume that they will not be affected by this outage. 'During this outage, the public is advised to treat all electrical installations as live,' the eThekwini Municipality said.
