Leicester City legend spotted at Celtic as Brendan Rodgers gives VIP tour of Lennoxtown
The Premier League winning legend was pictured at Celtic's training base ahead of Wednesday's Champions League playoff All the talk has been about Jamie Vardy making a stunning move to Celtic Park. But another Leicester City legend has been reunited with Brendan Rodgers in Glasgow. Premier League-winning legend Marc Albrighton was given a VIP tour of Lennoxtown today after being invited north by former boss Rodgers. Albrighton, 35, worked under Rodgers at the Foxes but retired in 2024 following the end of his contract at the King Power. The former winger - who played a key role in Claudio Ranieri's remarkable 2015/16 title-winning side - has since returned to boyhood club Aston Villa in a coaching capacity. Albrighton currently works with Villa's academy players and was spotted at Celtic's training HQ in Lennoxtown today as the Hoops were put through their paces ahead of Wednesday's Champions League playoff blockbuster with FC Kairat. The ex-Villa and Wigan star will have been given a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into Rodgers' coaching methods as Albrighton looks to continue his own coaching journey. It comes as ex-Foxes teammate Vardy has reportedly set his heart on a sensational switch to Celtic Park. Ex-England star Vardy, 38, is out of contract after leaving Leicester at the end of last season and has been linked with Napoli, West Ham and Wrexham. But reports claim the veteran striker would love a crack at life with the Scottish champions, and has set his sights on playing at the highest level for another couple of seasons. Jamie Vardy to Celtic transfer curveball would throw up Mission Impossible scenario for Rangers
The Premier League icon is still without a club after calling time on his incredible 13 years with Leicester City earlier this summer Whispers of Jamie Vardy making a sensational switch to Rangers refuse to go away. But Paul Dickov reckons Celtic would be truly uncatchable if Brendan Rodgers lured the Premier League icon to Parkhead. Vardy, 38, is still a free agent after departing Leicester City as the club's greatest-ever player at the end of last season. The former England goal machine has been linked with the likes of Man United and Newcastle, as well as a transfer north of the border. But ex-Foxes hero Dickov believes the veteran hitman would be a formidable signing for five-in-a-row chasing Celtic. Vardy played under Rodgers at the King Power Stadium and with Celts in the market for more firepower, Dickov has no doubt he would fire the Hoops to title no.56. He told WDW Bingo: "Jamie Vardy at 38, has still got a hell of a lot to offer. He's still got the hunger, and real desire in his game. "I'm sure he has plenty of offers from clubs all over the world, but wherever he chooses will gain a Premier League legend and a wealth of experience. "Aside from his experience, his goal-scoring hasn't slowed down. He scored nine goals last season in a poor Leicester team in the most challenging league in the world, so he will score plenty wherever he moves. "It's difficult to pinpoint where Jamie is going to land, but it could be a real swing in the next couple of seasons of the Scottish Premiership. "If he went to Celtic, it would make it even more difficult for the rest of the teams to catch them. I would go as far as to say borderline impossible. "However, if he chose Rangers, he could really drag them closer to Celtic with the goals he would score. "If he signs for Rangers, Scotland would have a really competitive league next season, which would be great to watch and draw eyes to the games. "That's how big a factor he could be, and people keep talking about his age, but he is chasing down defenders as well as he was ten years ago, from what I can see. "Whoever signs Vardy will have a fantastic asset who will guarantee goals and energy from the front."

'As bad as it's ever been' - Have Leicester reached a new low?
It has been 720 minutes since Leicester last scored at home in the Premier Monday's 3-0 defeat by Newcastle, the Foxes became the first side in the top four tiers of English football to lose eight successive home league games without van Nistelrooy's relegation-bound side have not found the back of the net at the King Power Stadium since 8 December - a 2-2 draw with Brighton."Nothing surprises me with this group and this manager and this football club at the minute," ex-Foxes winger Matt Piper told BBC Radio Leicester. "The anger for me is done, they are sucking the life out of me. This is as bad as it's ever been and we are a club that has dropped down to League One football." Leicester have registered 82 shots on goal this term but have only accumulated an expected goals (xG) tally of Newcastle, Leicester's possession was at a healthy 58% but that creative spark was missing once again with an xG of only from a side that have seen the tremendous highs of lifting the Premier League title, travelled Europe in the Champions League and hoisted the FA Cup high at Wembley Stadium."This season they are not good enough, there is no fight, there is no determination, there is no want to wear the shirt, there is no confidence," he said."Then there is a manager that goes missing in the dugout. There are major things wrong at this football club and it's been like this for some time. It's just not good enough. There are so many things wrong and I really fear for this football club in the coming years." 'It's a horrible moment for the club' Leicester's current run of eight games without a goal at home equals that of Manchester City in May 2007. And with table-toppers Liverpool next to visit, a new record could very well be Nistelrooy is only the second manager in Premier League history to lose eight successive home games in the competition, after Daniel Farke in September 2021 with Norwich City."What is worrying is the run of form, lack of goals, the lack of results we can produce," he told Sky Sports."Trying different things, different structures, different players in different positions and the results are not there. That is the worrying thing. This is a difficult night, especially in the run of form we're in. "It's important to analyse this, sleep on it and recover from it. That's it for now. There's no questions, it's dealing with this setback, another one, and that's for now what I can say."Foxes defender James Justin said players are struggling for confidence as the weeks pass by."It's hard to describe, to be honest, with how it's been and it makes us feel awful right at the moment," he said."It's hard to find confidence. It's a horrible moment for the club with how we're playing on the pitch and trying to regain any confidence."Despite being on a winless run of nine games, Leicester still have their Premier League status intact, but Justin did not provide much hope when pressed on the topic."There is still a chance for us and we have to fight and claw for it, but we aren't showing it on the pitch," he said. What do the fans say? Padraig: Dismal. Setting new records that nobody wants every week. Fans feel disconnected from a mismanaged club that once had the opportunity to be a regular mid-table Premier League team. We threw it away. Incredibly It's a Groundhog [Day] Season for us. Breaking [unwanted] records, can't score, can't even shoot, same players every week, same rhetoric before and after the game, we've become numb to it all Will we ever score a goal again? I'm a season ticket holder and haven't seen them score in 2025. Ruud is out of his depth, I can see us finishing Just goes from bad to worse - the whole club needs a clear out. Despair as to next season - the fans have lost faith in this bunch of players with the manager, they are clueless.
