Rams named potential landing spot for recently-released star CB
Rams named potential landing spot for recently-released star CB The Los Angeles Rams didn't make many changes to their secondary and could be looking to add a veteran ahead of the 2025 NFL season. While most eyes are on the Miami Dolphins and one-time ex-Rams star Jalen Ramsey, there is another name out there who could be on the Rams' radar: Jaire Alexander. The Green Bay Packers recently released the two-time Pro Bowler after seven seasons when they couldn't find a trade partner or agree to a new contract. In the wake of this news, Pro Football Focus' Trevor Sikkema named the Rams as a potential landing spot for Alexander for the same reasons as Ramsey: They need star power in the secondary. "The Rams surprisingly didn't make any changes at cornerback this offseason," Sikkema wrote. "Darious Williams (865), Cobie Durant (843) and Ahkello Witherspoon (598) played the most snaps at cornerback for the team last season, but none earned a PFF coverage grade above 62.0. "Alexander is the kind of veteran whom Los Angeles has been interested in before. The team traded for fellow star cornerback Jalen Ramsey in 2019, which proved a worthwhile addition. A move for Alexander wouldn't be as big of a splash, but it would be in the Rams' wheelhouse." The pros and cons of adding Alexander are obvious: He's elite when he's healthy, but he's expensive and recently very injury-prone. Alexander is only 28 but played just 14 games over the past two seasons. He tallied 10 interceptions in his first five seasons but just one in his past two. If the Rams add him, it will likely be for less than he could get elsewhere. But if he wants to chase a ring, the Rams offer a path to that possibility.

Aaron Donald and Jared Verse post a preview of their workout together
Aaron Donald and Jared Verse post a preview of their workout together Aaron Donald and Jared Verse made good on their promises to work out together. Following days of the two joking back and forth about how hard it is to work out, the two actually did it. Donald posted a video and photo of the two on his Instagram with the caption, "Ask and you shall receive. Workout video coming soon." Current and former Rams players sounded off in the comments, too. Rams defensive tackle Kobie Turner wrote that he's "been waiting all day for this," while receiver Tutu Atwell tagged Verse with and wrote that the young edge rusher "look tired my boy." Even ex-Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who played with Donald, commented a bunch of laughing emojis, "😂😂😂😂😂." While it's unclear who won the "bet," Verse later posted on X that he "tried to test a legend ... And he responded with a workout from hell. Learned my lesson. Respect OG." He also posted on his Instagram story that, "Rule 1: Don't call out AD." Stay tuned for the full video.

Rams set themselves up to make a big QB move in 2026
Rams set themselves up to make a big QB move in 2026 Next year marks two milestone moments in the recent history of the Los Angeles Rams: It's the 10th anniversary of the team's decision to move up to draft Jared Goff No. 1 overall in 2016 and it's the fifth anniversary of the blockbuster trade for Matthew Stafford in 2021. Could history repeat itself in 2026? The Rams have certainly set themselves up to make either of those types of moves for a quarterback after L.A. traded out of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft and picked up the Atlanta Falcons' first-round pick in 2026. And the last time they did, the Rams reached a Super Bowl within three years of the move. Now, the Rams have two picks in what looks like a great quarterback draft. As we know from last two times a team traded up for the No. 1 overall pick, the starting point for any negotiations is two first-round picks. The Rams have that in their pocket now, and can use it at their leisure. This is, of course, all speculative and only on the table if the Rams see themselves moving on from Matthew Stafford in the next few years. Since he'll be 37, that is more than likely sooner rather than later, especially after the offseason contract negotiations. The 2026 draft is full of quarterbacks. Arch Manning (Texas), Drew Allar (Penn State), Cade Klubnik (Clemson), Garrett Nussmeier (LSU), LaNorris Sellers (South Carolina) and Nico Iamaleava (UCLA) are all projected first-round picks at this point in their careers. Others could join this group as the year unfolds, too. The Rams, armed with two first-rounders, are in prime position to move anywhere in the draft to snag one of them if they want. However, the Rams could also go down the veteran trade market and use their picks as assets to acquire an established quarterback, like what they did with Stafford in 2021. This would take a bit more work and would require another team to want to move a quarterback. Less likely, but not impossible. The Rams offer something a lot of other teams don't: Stability, good coaching, a big media market and a willingness to pay for talent. They did it with Stafford and could do it again in 2026. The problem is there aren't many quarterbacks who could fit that bill. Things can change dramatically in a year, but unless feelings change between player and franchise, every franchise-caliber quarterback seems to be locked into their team for now. And the ones that aren't wouldn't be worth the Rams' picks. If we had to guess, the candidates for potential movement in 2026 include Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert for a variety of reasons. Lawrence hasn't lived up to his billing as a generational talent and the new Jacksonville Jaguars regime has Rams' connections (general manager James Gladstone and head coach Liam Coen), similar to what happened with Stafford trade with the Detroit Lions and ex-Rams executive Brad Holmes. Maybe Jacksonville wants to go in a different direction under center? Burrow will always be a name to follow given the Cincinnati Bengals' proclivity for frugality, although they just paid Burrow's receivers in Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Tagovailoa seems to always be on the hot seat, while Herbert might eventually get fed up the Los Angeles Chargers' inability to progress and head coach John Harbaugh may want to start over with a new hand-picked quarterback. Again, this is all speculation with months to go before the 2025 season even starts. It's impossible to predict where the Rams will be a year from now and how they'll feel about their quarterback. But with those two first-round picks and a win-now attitude, the Rams are primed to make a quarterback splash either in the draft or with a veteran next year.

Steelers sign ex-Rams WR who won Super Bowl with L.A. in 2021
A former Los Angeles Rams receiver is once again heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Robert Woods, who last played for the Rams when they won the Super Bowl in 2021, reportedly signed a one-year, $2 million deal with the Steelers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Advertisement Woods, 33, spent the past two seasons with the Houston Texans after one year with the Tennessee Titans prior to his five years with the Rams. He caught 367 receptions for 4,626 yards and 26 touchdowns in 68 games for L.A. His time with the Rams ended abruptly, though, after Woods tore his ACL in 2021, months before the team won Super Bowl LVI over the Cincinnati Bengals. Age and injuries caught up to him over the past few years, though, as he's only caught 113 receptions for 1,156 yards and three touchdowns in 46 games since 2022. Woods formed one of the best receiver duos in the NFL alongside Cooper Kupp during their time together in L.A. Now, the Rams have a new twosome in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Advertisement The Woods deal is funny because, as Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette pointed out, Woods is the fourth former Rams wideout to join the Steelers over the past several years. Pittsburgh has also signed Allen Robinson (2023), Van Jefferson (2024) and Ben Skowronek (2024). He now joins a younger receiver corps in Pittsburgh with D.K. Metcalf and George Pickens. The quarterback remains a mystery, though, as the Steelers appear to be interested in Aaron Rodgers or would have to start Mason Rudolph of 2025 sixth-rounder Will Howard.
