THE CANADIAN PRESS/David Lipnowski The Winnipeg Police Service is searching for a suspect after an 18-year-old man was attacked outside a Winnipeg convenience store earlier in July. Around 4:30 a.m. on July 13, police were called to the 800 block of Selkirk Avenue where they found the victim lying outside a convenience store. Police noted he was bleeding profusely and suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable condition. Another person also stopped and provided medical care until the arrival of paramedics. Police describe the suspect as a man on a BMX-style bicycle. He had a black backpack and was wearing a ballcap that may have had a white NY Yankees logo on the front. He was last seen heading down Selkirk Avenue toward Main Street. The major crimes unit is investigating. Anyone with information, including video surveillance, is asked to call police at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
