The Thane Metro section is part of the 32.32 km Metro Line 4 (Wadala-Kasarvadavali) and 2.88 km Line 4A (Kasarvadavali-Gaimukh) corridors. Once fully operational, Line 4 will connect Mumbai, Thane, and the eastern suburbs through 32 stations, providing interchange with Mumbai Metro Lines 2B, S, and 11, as well as suburban railways and the upcoming Thane-Borivali underground tunnel.. A new coastal route is also in the works. The proposed road will connect Thane directly to the coastline, running from Saket Creek to Ghodbunder Road via Gaimukh and Fountain. It will link with the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway, creating an alternative corridor for vehicles that currently pass through Thane's crowded streets. (Photo: X/@marinebharat)
