Cops probe woman, 70, for driving on motorbike lane at Penang second bridge

PETALING JAYA : Police are investigating a 70-year-old woman for allegedly driving on the motorcycle lane of the Penang second bridge.
Seberang Perai Selatan police chief Jay January Siowou said a video of the incident, showing a Proton X50 using the motorcycle lane of the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Bridge, had made its rounds on social media.
He said a preliminary investigation found that the footage was captured at Km8.6 of the bridge, heading towards the island, at about 1.30pm on June 20.
'Police managed to track down the driver and had taken her to a police station for further investigation,' Jay said in a statement yesterday.
The case is being investigated for the offence of using an unauthorised lane.
