Gab AI's X Account Permanently Suspended For Antisemitic Hate Speech; User Suggests Ways for Gab AI To Circumvent X's Antisemitism Policies
On August 1, 2025, the CEO of Gab CEO posted a screenshot of Gab AI's X (formerly Twitter) account which showed the account had been suspended. According to a user's query to Gab AI, the account was suspended following its publication of a post claiming the Anti-Defamation League's latest hate speech report cited online incidents of antisemitism as 82% of its total count of antisemitic incidents. Neo-Nazis on X objected to Gab AI's suspension, calling it a violation of the First Amendment's freedom of speech protection, blaming a recent report on Artificial Intelligence (AI) from the Combat Antisemitism Movement, and suggesting ways for the AI to circumvent antisemitism guidelines on X. This report will review neo-Nazis' reactions to Gab AI's suspension. YOU MUST BE SUBSCRIBED TO THE MEMRI DOMESTIC TERRORISM THREAT MONITOR (DTTM) TO READ THE FULL REPORT. GOVERNMENT AND MEDIA CAN REQUEST A COPY BY WRITING TO DTTMSUBS@ WITH THE REPORT TITLE IN THE SUBJECT LINE. PLEASE INCLUDE FULL ORGANIZATIONAL DETAILS AND AN OFFICIAL EMAIL ADDRESS IN YOUR REQUEST. NOTE: WE ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE A COPY ONLY TO MEMBERS OF GOVERNMENT, LAW ENFORCEMENT, MEDIA, AND ACADEMIA, AND TO SUBSCRIBERS; IF YOU DO NOT MEET THESE CRITERIA PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST. Gab CEO Announces Gab AI's Suspension On X The CEO of Gab published a post on August 1, 2025, on X announcing X's suspension of the Gab AI account. He captioned the post: "We're looking into this and have reached out to the X support team. In the meantime you can continue using Gab AI in the main dashboard here: Please support our efforts to build this great product by upgrading to Gab AI Plus. Thank you for your attention to this matter." Four days later, on August 5, he published an update on Gab AI's X suspension. The post stated that he had "not heard a single word back from X on this [suspension] even after backchanneling through three different teams on their [X's] end." He also complained that Gab spends "five figures a month" on X, and as such should not be treated this way. He concluded that X was uncooperative because: "Gab AI is a serious threat and a very real competitor in the AI space," which is why X lets "the @AskPerplexity bot and many others here and don't care." Neo-Nazis On X React To Gab AI's Suspension A neo-Nazi X user published a post on August 4, 2025 that also claimed X had suspended Gab AI's account because "Gab was absolutely dragging Grok, that's why lol." Another neo-Nazi X user reacted to Gab's CEO's post on August 1 claiming that the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) was responsible for Gab AI being banned on X. The neo-Nazi account posted a screenshot from CAM's website that called for "tech companies, regulators, and civil society" to support and enact "banning explicitly bigoted systems like Gab AI from mainstream platforms."

The Kremlin's hybrid warfare doctrine entails attacks executed with different means than troops, tanks and rockets. Complacent Europeans and Scots fail to notice this insidious Russian conquest of our minds and public spaces. Unless we wake up to the ugly reality, soon we may have to live under Moscow's dominance, diligently learning Russian and careful not to anger the overlord in the Kremlin. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Russian propagandists claim that since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Russia has been under the West's relentless attack. Meanwhile, Moscow's patience wore thin and, thus, it had no choice but to start defending the Russians against 'neo-Nazis' in Ukraine. In June 2025, the Kremlin dictator stated 'all of Ukraine is ours'. Besides insufficient and faltering weapon and ammunition supplies, no Western troops have been deployed in a combat role on Ukrainian soil to help Kyiv in the unequal fight against the Russian invaders. Apparently, democracies do not fight each other, and neither do they come to each other's aid. That is the best recipe for a resolute alliance of autocracies to take out one democracy after another. Europeans – who still enjoy the privilege of living in the countries that do not border on Russia or on the states under Russian attack – prefer to see the war in Ukraine as not of their (immediate) concern. They want a return of the old normal that is never going to be re-established. The world has irrevocably changed. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Posing as friends The American beacon of democracy dims, replaced by authoritarianism and the cult of personality. Neither democracy nor peace and prosperity in Europe can be taken for granted any longer. The preservation of these achievements depends on how Europeans will reply to aggressive Russia's nefarious designs on Europe. Meanwhile, Russians already lurk in Europeans' backyards, posing as friendly and unobtrusive neighbours and fellow Europeans. These Russians, however, are not what they appear to be. Instead, they just wait for the right moment to do the bidding of their overlord in the Kremlin. I do not mean the obvious cases of Russian illegals, poisonings, arson attacks or assassinations. No sensible person is going to overlook them. Yet, such cases just amount to the tip of an iceberg. The challenge is to learn how to soberly perceive the full extent of Russian influence aimed at undermining Europe, carefully designed to bring the continent under Moscow's direct or indirect control. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad In early 2025, Britain and Ukraine signed a 100-year partnership agreement to signal both countries' unshakable alliance in the face of Russia's aggressive imperialism. But this document does not scare off Russians from continuing to claim British public spaces for the Kremlin's ideology and war effort with their enemy symbols. Black and orange ribbons of Saint George, seen on a war memorial in Dundee today, are a symbol of Russia's war on Ukraine | Tomasz Kamusella Warping the past Unfortunately, the British fail to notice, treating these symbols and their display as harmless ethnic flourishes of no importance. In this context, it is especially galling that warmongering Russia's propagandists, posing as diplomats, are allowed free rein to spread their neo-imperialist message of the Russian world (Russkii mir), for instance, in the Scottish city of Dundee. A coordinated action of this type takes place each year on VE Day, under the guise of commemorating the Allied victory over Nazi Germany. Another was held on Sunday. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Hence, this Soviet legacy now belongs to each of the 15 post-Soviet states, including Ukraine. Besides this mendacious warping of the past for present-day uses, quite shockingly, Dundee and other Scottish authorities tolerate the employment, in these wreaths and flowers, of black and orange ribbons of Saint George, first introduced when Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. After 2022, this ribbon underpins the Z symbol of Russia's war on Ukraine, or the 'Z-swastika', dubbed so because of its visual similarity with the Nazi symbol. Both were deployed for similar ideological ends, to propagate imperialism, war and racism for the sake of replacing democracy with totalitarianism. Wrong message to Navy cadets Ironically, the aforementioned Submarine Memorial is located next door to the Dundee headquarters of the Royal Navy Cadet Forces Training Centre. It is the place for Scottish teenage cadets to learn how to sail, military-style discipline and to train for a potential career in the Royal Navy. Hence, in the future they may have to defend Britain and Nato allies against a Russian onslaught. But now, year after year, tasked with the maintenance of this memorial, the cadets are inadvertently exposed to Russian imperialist symbols. In this manner, the sight of these anti-Western and anti-British symbols becomes normalised and may make them acceptable in the cadets' eyes. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad What a cheap and easily preventable win for Russia in this simplistic psyop. If the cadets ever find themselves in battle with Russian troops festooned with these symbols, some may doubt they are facing a genuine enemy. Should we really let the Kremlin expose European soldiers to symbols of Russian imperialism when it is seeking to destroy Europe?

Changes to taxi fare costs likely to go ahead in Glasgow
Glasgow's licensing committee has agreed to propose a 3.32% increase to the city's taxi fare scale, following an independent review. It would see the minimum charge flag fall rise from £4.40 to £4.50 and the soiling charge lifted from £46 to £47.50. The changes will now be open to representations, which would be reported back to the committee. Some trade representatives disagreed with the review's findings that insurance costs have decreased, saying drivers are reporting rises. At a licensing meeting on Wednesday, the trade pushed for a more detailed 'bottom-up' review to be carried out. Cllr Alex Wilson, SNP, the licensing committee chairman, said: 'A bottom-up review would be a great thing for us going forward, certainly there are more changes to the dynamics of what is happening out there. READ MORE: Glasgow's new tourist tax approved - here's how much visitors will be charged 'I think we need to find out exactly how that is going to impact the trade.' The review of the taxi fare scales has been carried out by Dr James Cooper. Changes were recommended after the review concluded the 'costs of operating a tax in Glasgow, the production costs, have increased'. Under the plans, the flag fall distance and time would change from 889 yards to 880 yards and 167 seconds to 165 seconds. Each additional increment is set to change from a distance not exceeding 179 yards to a distance not exceeding 174 yards and the time changed from 38 seconds to 37 seconds. However, the distance and time charge would remain at an increment of 30p. The additional charge for hires after 9pm and before 6am is expected to remain at £1.50 and the extra charge for hires between 9pm on December 24 and 6am on December 27 and 9pm on December 31 and 6am on January 3 is to stay at £2.70. Glasgow Taxi Owners Federation wants to see extra charges for additional passengers, beyond two, and an increased night charge of £2 rather than £1.50 to 'encourage night working'. It also proposed an alternative tariff which it said would be cheaper for customers. Dr Cooper said there was 'certainly a point of discussion around the structure of the tariff' which could be covered by a bottom-up review in future. READ MORE: Group of 'neo-Nazis' kicked out of full council meeting Glasgow Taxis said it had carried out work around demand and usage in the city and would like an opportunity to produce its evidence. Dr Cooper's report had noted that 'insurance costs have declined over the period of review' but this 'follows a significant increase in the previous period'. A representative from Unite the union was unable to attend the meeting, but, in a submission to the committee, it stated members had been surveyed and 'not one has reported a reduction' in insurance costs, with an average increase of around 8% instead. The union also said radio dispatch costs have increased, and high new vehicle costs, plus the removal of some grants, are 'creating financial barriers'. It added the 'council list of approved vehicles needs to be reviewed, as the dependence on local suppliers is preventing competitiveness, as more cost-effective vehicles are now available across the UK'.

Stephen Fry says JK Rowling has been 'radicalised by Terfs'
The TV presenter and comic described the bestselling writer, whose net worth reportedly stands at £945 million, as a 'lost cause' because of her views. Fry has historically been wary of wading into the transgender debate but has now come out to say he disagrees 'profoundly' with Rowling's views. He narrated the audiobooks for the whole Harry Potter series and said he was 'sorry' about his rift with Rowling over the issue. Fry told The Show People podcast last week that he previously enjoyed Rowling's company but said her gender critical views had 'completely altered the way she talks and engages with the world now'. He said: 'She has been radicalised I fear and it may be she has been radicalised by TERFs, but also by the vitriol that is thrown at her. 'It is unhelpful and only hardens her and will only continue to harden her I am afraid. I am not saying that she not be called out when she says things that are really cruel, wrong and mocking. She seems to be a lost cause for us.' Terf stands for trans-exclusionary radical feminist and is used as an insult by pro-trans activists. Fry, who formerly hosted the quiz show QI, added: 'She started to make these peculiar statements and had very strong difficult views. She seemed to wake up or kick a hornet's nest of transphobia which has been entirely destructive. 'I disagree profoundly with her on this subject. I am angry she does not disavow some of the more revolting and truly horrible, destructive violently destructive things that people say. She does not attack those at all. 'She says things that are inflammatory and contemptuous, mocking and add to a terribly distressing time for trans people.' READ MORE: Group of 'neo-Nazis' thrown out from council meeting about 'far-right racist' banners On Rowling's interventions in Scottish politics, which has been at the centre of UK-wide debates about trans rights, Fry said: 'She has crowed at the success of legislation in Scotland and elsewhere declaring things about gender. 'So I am very happy to go on the record to say that I am really angry about that.' Fry expressed regret about how Rowling (below) had changed, as he saw it. 'I am sorry because I always liked her company,' he said. 'I found her charming, funny and interesting and then this thing happened and it completely altered the way she talks and engages with the world now.' Fry, who is himself gay, previously faced criticism from parts of the LGBTQ+ community for not being more strident in his comments about the trans rights debate. In 2022, he called for both sides to stop fighting one another, saying: 'There is no winner.' He previously described Rowling as a 'friend', adding: 'I have trans friends and intersex friends who are deeply upset by her. That is a circle I have to square personally.' Fry added that he did not intend to 'abandon' friendships.

Israeli strikes kill 72 Palestinians, 29 waiting for aid trucks
Another Israeli air strike on a home in the Zeitoun neighbourhood south of Gaza City killed eight people, leaving multiple other people wounded, according to medical sources. Eight more people were killed, and others injured, including a woman and two children, in Israeli strikes on tents of displaced people in al-Mawasi camp in Gaza's south, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. READ MORE: Group of 'neo-Nazis' thrown out from council meeting about 'far-right racist' banners Meanwhile, a further 10 people, including a husband, wife and children from a single family, were killed in another Israeli air strike on the Maghazi camp in central Gaza, local reports have said. The Israeli military told the Reuters news agency that it was looking into the reported deaths of people waiting for food aid. The bodies of 20 people shot dead in northern Gaza by Israeli forces while waiting for aid trucks were left on the street for five days before Civil Defence paramedics from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs were given approval by Israeli officials to recover them. Ahmed Ghaben told Al Jazeera about the death of a relative saying that his nephew wasn't a resistance fighter and that he simply went to get a bag of flour. He said: 'My nephew went to bring his children a bag of flour, but he was brought back a lifeless body, as you can see, a martyr. 'He left 14 family members. He went [to get aid] due to hunger. He wasn't a resistance fighter. He went to get a bag of flour.' Al Jazeera's Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting from Deir el-Balah, said, 'It's very clear that Israeli forces are targeting civilians who only went to get bags of flour or boxes of food. 'Eyewitnesses say the soldiers used a variety of weapons, including drones and tanks. Snipers who have been deployed in nearby hills have also been gunning down the civilians. 'The Israeli military claims these hungry crowds are a security threat, but these claims have not been substantiated with clear evidence.' Experts have warned that Israel's ongoing war on Gaza and restrictions on the entry of aid have put Gaza, which is home to some two million Palestinians, at risk of famine. The UN's human rights chief, Volker Turk, condemned Israel's conduct around the aid centres this week.
