Joseph Fiennes recalls devastating moment he held a fellow traveller as she died after being crushed by a horse in 'unexpected horrific accident' during holiday in Costa Rica
Joseph Fiennes has recalled the horrifying moment he held a fellow traveller as she died after being crushed by a horse while holidaying in Costa Rica. The Shakespeare in Love actor, 55, who is an avid rider, said the woman, whom he did not know, had recently got married, tragically fell from her steed and 'really broke her head' after hitting the ground in front of her new husband. Joseph described holding her as she 'slipped away' in what he described as the 'unexpected horrific accident' that left him unable to sleep for a month. Speaking on the Travel Secrets podcast, he said: 'I love horse riding and I got onto a horse early in the morning to go with a fellow traveller who was staying at the Haciena, who had just got married,' 'I remember getting on the horse, seeing this lovely woman kiss her husband goodbye, and then the horse reared up, and she sadly pulled on the reigns and the weight of the horse came over her and the whole horse landed on her and she fell back and really broke her head on the gravel and died'. He went on: 'I held her for a while, her poor husband was in such shock, he couldn't comprehend or communicate, and she slipped away'. The actor said the woman, whom he did not know, had recently got married tragically fell from steed and 'really broke her head' after hitting the ground in front of her new husband Before adding: 'I couldn't sleep for, God I think, a month, I remember going back into the jungle at the foot of this volcano, and I was really shaken'. Joseph will next be seen in TV adaption of award winning play Dear England, reprising his uncanny role playing England football manager Gareth Southgate. Last week he was seen on set for the first time as filming got under way for the highly-anticipated four-part series, which will air next year. Jospeh was spotted wearing an England training kit while recording scenes at top public school Harrow, which is being used for the squad's Staffordshire training ground, St George's Park. He was joined by former Doctor Who star, Jodie Whittaker, who is playing the team's psychologist Pippa Grange. The play shone a light on the pressures of penalties and Gareth's 'cultural reform' of the England men's national team in his six years as manager. A synopsis for the play read: 'It's time to change the game. The country that gave the world football has since delivered a painful pattern of loss. Why can't England's men win at their own game? 'With the worst track record for penalties in the world, Gareth Southgate knows he needs to open his mind and face up to the years of hurt to take team and country back to the promised land.' Joseph described holding her as she 'slipped away' in what he described as the 'unexpected horrific accident' that left him unable to sleep for a month Gareth made 57 appearances for England as a player, but is arguably best remembered for missing a crucial penalty kick against Germany in the Euro 96 semi-final at Wembley. He then went on to huge success managing the England men's national team from 2016, leading them to a World Cup semi-final in 2018 and the Euro 2020 final. 'Something has gone wrong in England and with England, something that will take more than a sticking plaster to fix,' says Southgate at the beginning of the play. Speaking of the play previously Graham said it will focus on Gareth's 'epic and moving' 'cultural reform' of the England men's football team. Writer James Graham, also who penned BBC One drama Sherwood, said: 'To tell this story of the national game on the stage of the National Theatre is just the greatest thrill, if an intimidating responsibility. The experience of working on This House at the National Theatre 10 years ago changed my life as an emerging writer. 'Now, with Dear England, to be given the opportunity to shine a light on another public institution in the form of the England men's football team is, I know, an exciting opportunity. 'What Gareth Southgate has attempted in his quiet cultural reform of England football I find epic and deeply moving. And I'm so grateful to be surrounded by some of British theatre's most exciting creative talent to unite around this new show.' Actor Joseph was nominated for an Olivier award. It returned to the National Theatre earlier this year before embarking on a national tour.

Her heartfelt words were momentarily interrupted as she fumbled to adjust her microphone, sparking some laughter from the crowd and lightening the already sweet moment. At one point, Kristen sweetly took Dylan's hands into her grasp. Dylan also read her vows off a piece of paper, and Kristen appeared moved by her words as she rubbed her eyes. Friends and family gathered around the couple but gave them some space as they watched the ceremony unfold with their phones capturing the scene. For their nuptials, the couple opted for an edgy twist on their bridal wear, with Dylan sporting a sheer top and silky taupe skirt while Kristen wore a taupe set combined with a white T-shirt. Although Kristen and Dylan reportedly met back in 2013 on a movie set, the Hollywood figures didn't become an item until years later in August of 2019. Bride Lies to Best Friend About Wedding Date to Avoid Inviting Her, 'Betrayal' Puts 25-Year Friendship at Risk
In a submission to the Dear Abby advice column, a woman asked if she should end her 25-year friendship because her best friend lied to her about her wedding date to avoid inviting her The bride told the woman that nothing was "finalized," but the advice seeker knows that's not true because she found her wedding website "I felt hurt, confused and dismissed," she wroteA woman says she feels betrayed by her bride-to-be friend. In an anonymous submission to Dear Abby, an advice column written by Abigail Van Buren, a woman shared that her friend is throwing a wedding but is lying to her about it. Now, the advice seeker is wondering if she's "overreacting" or if it's the right decision to end her long-term friendship over not being invited to the celebration. "The dishonesty and secrecy feel like a betrayal after everything we've shared over the past 25 years," the woman wrote. "Being excluded from such a major life event and then lied to about it feels like the final straw." Until now, the woman's friendship has "meant the world" to her. When the bride announced that she married someone after only a few months of dating, her friend was "surprised" but "respected her decision and was genuinely happy for her." The newlywed woman told her that she and her partner were planning a wedding to celebrate their union with friends and family, and "assured" her that once they set a date, they would let her know because they "wanted [her] there." A few weeks after their conversation, the advice seeker "accidentally" stumbled upon the bride's wedding website, which contradicted everything she had told her. "Not only had a date been chosen, but there is also a wedding website — clearly showing the event was planned and confirmed," the woman said. "I was not invited." The woman "gently" confronted her friend about her wedding, but she "flat-out denied that anything had been finalized." "I felt hurt, confused and dismissed," she said. She asked: "Is there any coming back from this kind of hurt? Or is it time to accept that our relationship is over?" In response, Abby was sympathetic toward the poster. She validated her feelings by saying she was "not overreacting," and argued that it was completely understandable for her to feel "hurt" after someone she considered a close friend lied to her face. "It appears your friend's 'little white lie' turned into a whopper," Abby replied. is now available in the Apple App Store! Download it now for the most binge-worthy celeb content, exclusive video clips, astrology updates and more! Abby couldn't speculate as to why the advice seeker was left off the wedding guest list because she doesn't personally know the bride or their friendship history. However, she said it was wrong for the bride not to provide an explanation. Now, their trust has been broken and it's up for the woman to determine whether or not their bond can be repaired. "She chose to lie instead of level with you," Abby concluded her response. "Whether this should end your long relationship is up to you. Certainly, you need to rethink anything she tells you in the future, if there even is a future." Read the original article on People

My mother ruined my wedding portrait by pointing out a rude detail I hadn't seen before - I'll never look at it the same way
A newlywed has revealed how her favourite wedding snap was 'ruined' in an instant - thanks to her mother's cheeky observation. TikToker Sophie Jo posted the seemingly innocent image online, after her mother burst her bubble of post-nuptial bliss. The bride had been proudly admiring the romantic photo, which shows her beaming as her husband dramatically lifts her in his arms in a pose not unlike a dance move. With her head thrown back and a big smile on her face, Sophie was convinced the shot perfectly captured the joy of her big day, until her mother took a closer look and spotted something less romantic. In the viral clip, Sophie tells viewers: 'My mum has literally ruined one of my wedding pictures for me. 'It's a picture I really loved. I thought it was a really lovely picture - one of my favourites. 'I was very excited by it and then my mum pointed out something about it that she thought looked a bit rude. 'So I looked at the photo and now I'm afraid that I won't be able to unsee it and therefore it will forever be ruined.' Sophie then invited her followers to investigate and see if they could spot anything untoward. 'We'll have a look together,' she says, before showing the image on screen. She added: 'I don't know what your initial thoughts were. Maybe you initially think it looks a bit rude too, or maybe when I tell you what my mum said it looks like, you won't be able to unsee it. 'My mum said it looks like he's, and I quote, 'rooting around in my undercarriage.' The photo could well lend itself to the interpretation. The bride's flowing white gown is fanned out in such a way that it hides her husband's hand - leaving the viewer to speculate where, exactly, his arm is going. Combined with Sophie's ecstatic expression, the result is a shot that is rather difficult to unsee. 'And my facial expressions don't help that accusation either apparently,' Sophie says. 'Do you see it? Because I'm afraid I do too, now. 'I can assure you that's not what's going on in the picture, just to clarify, but I'm afraid I can't unsee it now and it's ruined so thank you for that, mum, very much appreciate that.' Despite the unfortunate illusion, the bride's followers were quick to rally behind her, with many insisting the photo remained just as lovely as she first believed until she spelled it out. Although many immediately laid eyes on the blunder, the majority of commenters were supportive One wrote: 'I do see it, because I was looking for something like that, having your words in mind, your mother making a remark. 'At first glance I saw a playful, beautiful picture of two people in love. and yes I can unsee the first because I choose to see the playful, happy couple.' Another agreed: 'Neh.... you cannot stand like that without him holding your leg up ..and his arms are not that long that he can reach what you think he is reaching. So no, for me it's just a lovely photo.' A third commenter joked: 'I have a filthy mind by profession and reputation and I honestly didn't see it in either image.' Others, however, couldn't resist a giggle at the suggestive framing. 'That cracked me up,' one viewer wrote, while another chimed in with: 'Your mum's not wrong.' One follower added: 'I agree that's the first thing I saw,' while another quipped: 'No wonder you're smiling.' Still, the overwhelming majority reassured Sophie that the picture remained a joyful, light-hearted memento of a special moment, and that her mum's comment was just a harmless observation. Perhaps the photo stands as the test of a dirty mind.
