Arkansas nabs a commitment from four-star OT Ben Mubenga
Arkansas is loading up in the trenches. Sam Pittman and the Hogs secured a commitment from Rivals four-star offensive tackle Ben Mubenga out of the Peach State on Saturday. The Razorbacks edged out Georgia Tech, Florida State and North Carolina State for the Buford (Ga.) High School mauler -- tabbed as the No. 43 OT in the 2026 recruiting class. Advertisement Mubenga was back on the Hill on June 6 weekend for his official visit -- and has known he was going to be a Hog ever since. "The love in Fayetteville was unmatched," Mubenga started. "I knew I was going to Arkansas during my second day of the official visit," he detailed. "From the academics and the football there, the hospital ... everything felt right. It was exactly what I was looking for." Arkansas started to close the gap with the rest of the teams in the mix as Pittman and offensive line coach Eric Mateos started to dig their heels with Mubenga this spring as coaches hit the road. Advertisement After taking in the sights and sounds of four official visits, no team matched the intensity and track record of the Razorbacks' coaches, who struck a chord with Mubenga. The four-star OT moved his decision up from July 7 to June 26 -- and was excited to land his spot in Arkansas' 2026 class. "Being an offensive lineman, it was clear that Coach Pittman is one of -- if not -- the best at developing offensive linemen," Mubenga asserted. "Having Coach Mateos, who learned under him, speaks for itself."

Chiefs Rookie Receives High Praise From Eagles Legend
Chiefs Rookie Receives High Praise From Eagles Legend originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Ohio State offensive lineman Josh Simmons with the 32nd overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. And one of the best lineman of all time thinks the Chiefs have a star. Advertisement In a recent episode of the New Heights podcast with his brother, Travis, Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce had high praise for Simmons, saying he reminded him of one of the best offensive tackles of all time. "I've watched a lot of these linemen coming out the last few years," Kelce said. "This kid, I mean, he is the closest thing I've seen to like a Trent Williams — like that next level strength and athleticism. The only reason he fell to you guys is because of that injury." Simmons suffered a torn patellar tendon injury back in October of this past year, which caused him to slide in the draft. Many considered him to be the offensive lineman in the draft, and he fell all the way to the reigning AFC champions at the end of the first round. Mahomes was the twelfth-most sacked quarterback in the league this past season, so the team went into the 2025 NFL Draft wanting to increase the protection around him. It will be hard to say that they did not do that if Simmons can stay healthy. Advertisement The Chiefs fell in the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles this past season, so Simmons and the rest of the offensive line will be looking to help get the team back to the postseason to redeem themselves. Top overall prospect OT Jackson Cantwell commits to Miami
May 13 - Offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, the nation's highest-rated overall player in the Class of 2026, will head to Coral Gables, Fla., to join the Miami Hurricanes, he announced during a Tuesday ceremony. A five-star prospect out of Nixa High School in Missouri, Cantwell stands as the highest-rated offensive lineman in the modern recruiting era and is ranked No. 1 overall in the 247Sports composite rankings. He's No. 3 in the country and tops at his position and in his state, according to 247Sports' own rankings, and No. 3 overall in the 2026 ESPN 300. He selected the Hurricanes over the likes of Georgia, Oregon and Ohio State. "I think relationships won out in the end," Cantwell said after his announcement, citing tight relationships built with various Miami coaches over the past year, including head coach Mario Cristobol and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal. "We've talked so much about offensive line development, what my potential there is at the U, and I think their history with guys like Penei Sewell, Francis Mauigoa and some of those guys from recent (memory), I just feel like it's a place I can develop and be something great." Listed at 6-foot-7 1/2 and 325 pounds, Cantwell represents Miami's first top-100 prospect -- and 10th overall commit -- for the Class of 2026. ESPN reported that the Hurricanes offered him a multiyear NIL package valued at more than $2 million a year. Cantwell also is an elite track and field athlete in the discus and shot and could continue in that sport in college. His parents are former Olympian shot-putters -- Christian Cantwell, a silver medalist at the 2008 Beijing Games, and Teri Steer. --Field Level Media

Wisconsin football offers one of the top players in the class of 2027
Wisconsin extended an offer to class of 2027 offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller on Friday. The program joins a loaded offer sheet including Alabama, Penn State, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC. If a program has College Football Playoff aspirations, it is likely in pursuit of the top lineman. Advertisement 247Sports currently lists Hiller as a four-star recruit, although he's on the fringe of a five-star rating. The Coatesville, Pennsylvania, native is the No. 34 overall player in the country, the No. 3 interior offensive lineman and the No. 2 recruit from his home state. There are only 32 five-star recruits in each cycle, making Hiller just a small rating bump away from that status. Although the 2027 recruiting cycle is still a full calendar year away, On3's recruiting prediction machine lists Penn State as the early favorite at 90%. Maryland is next at 4.1%, then South Carolina at 1.4%. Wisconsin will look for a similar result to its recruitment of class of 2021 five-star offensive tackle Nolan Rucci, who chose the Badgers over the in-state Nittany Lions, among others. Wisconsin has yet to land a commitment in the class of 2027. The program is still in the early stages of compiling its class of 2026, with only six players currently committed. Although the 2027 cycle won't pick up until next calendar year, Hiller instantly becomes a major name to watch on the Badgers' offer list.
