British Grand Prix build-up after heavy rain at Silverstone
Update: Date: 13:59 BST Title: How many penalty points does Bearman have? Content: It's only his rookie season in Formula 1 but Oliver Bearman has gone second in the penalty points table after his practice punishment on Saturday. The 20-year-old is now has eight points on his licence for the 12-month period, four points away from a one-race ban. Two of Bearman's points, which were issued for a collision with Franco Colapinto during last year's Sao Paulo Grand Prix, will expire on 2 November. Update: Date: 13:55 BST Title: Who has grid penalties at Silverstone? Content: Kimi Antonelli already had a grid penalty in his hand luggage from Austria for his early collision with Max Verstappen, so following his seventh place in qualifying yesterday, the Mercedes rookie moves down to 10th spot. The big drop on Sunday goes to Oliver Bearman, who made it into Q3, finished the session in a fantastic eigth place but has to shift all the way to P18 because of a 10-place grid penalty - and four penalty points on his licence - for going too fast when red flags were shown in final practice (that's when he crashed in the pit lane). There's quite a lot of movement on the grid because of Antonelli and Bearman, but the main three to benefit are Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz, who are now P7, P8 and P9 respectively. Update: Date: 13:50 BST Title: Is it raining at Silverstone? Content: Lewis Hamilton walked into the paddock looking sharp as ever earlier on but even a seven-time world champion needs a giant umbrella when the weather turns nasty. It's been chucking it down at Silvertone this morning - one of the Sauber team had to dry out his socks using equipment from the garage - and the rain has continued throughout the feature races. Light showers and a gentle breeze are forecast for lights out at 3pm. Update: Date: 13:47 BST Title: Listen: British GP qualifying review Content: Dutch commentator Nelson Valkenburg joins Jennie Gow and Harry Benjamin on the podcast to review yesterday's qualifying at Silverstone. Have a listen as we go along this afternoon. Summer has arrived in Britain, so it's coats on, hood up and brollies to hand, as the weather is looking pretty grim for today's British Grand Prix. At the moment, we're heading for another wet-dry race, so guessing what strategy teams will opt for is going to be a head-scratcher. Last year, Lewis Hamilton's memorable win - a record ninth on home turf - in similar conditions was achieved with a medium-intermediate-soft combination of tyres. Lights out is at 15:00 BST. Did we get a home driver on pole position yesterday? Sadly, no. The Dutch and the Aussie contingent booked out the front row, with Max Verstappen putting in a sublime final lap in Q3 to pinch pole away from the McLaren of Oscar Piastri.

Tailgating a factor behind one in eight crashes on UK roads
Over 140 people are killed or seriously injured annually on England's motorways and major A- roads due to tailgating. Tailgating is identified as a factor in at least one in eight collisions across the strategic road network. Research shows 43 per cent of drivers admit to tailgating, yet 60 per cent feel anxious when tailgated. National Highways recommends drivers maintain a two-second gap on dry roads and four seconds in wet conditions. Drivers caught tailgating face a £100 fine and three penalty points, with potential for more severe punishments in serious collisions. The deadly driving act that 43 per cent of people admit to doing

Fuming Max Verstappen asks 'is this a trap?' in frosty press conference ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix - after making 'p***ed off' admission
A fuming Max Verstappen asked a journalist 'is this a trap?' in a frosty exchange during a press conference ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix. Speaking to the media on Thursday, the world champion took exception to one particular line of questioning around his penalty points tightrope. With 11 points already on his licence, just one more will see him reach the dozen needed inside a 12-month period to trigger an automatic race ban. Verstappen was also grilled on his disciplinary headache a fortnight ago in Canada and the red mist descended when he declared he was 'p***ed off' at being constantly asked about it, insisting it was 'childish' to bring it up. But the issue arose again at the Red Bull Ring when Verstappen was asked whether he would have to change his approach, and he delivered an awkward response. 'You're joking... Is this like a trap? I'm getting this question every single time, every weekend,' he said. 'Sorry, this is the last one. I have nothing to add.' But he said he had nothing to add on the dilemma a fortnight on from his 'p***ed off' admission Were he to pick up another penalty point this weekend, the four-time champion of the world would then be banned for the British Grand Prix. However, should he manage to remain out of trouble, two of his points will expire ahead of the Silverstone showpiece, giving him much-needed breathing space. Verstappen was hit with three penalty points for his hot-headed move into Mercedes' George Russell at 140mph during the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona. Only Kevin Magnussen has ever previously been banned. Russell said: 'That's why you've got the penalty points there – if you keep driving recklessly, you'll get a race ban. You've got that in your own hands and it doesn't go without risk. If he gets his 12 points it wouldn't be unjust.' Speaking in Austria, Verstappen was also quizzed on the speculation he may choose to walk away from Red Bull and join a rival. He has been linked with both Mercedes and Aston Martin despite being contracted until 2028. Bluntly waving away the question, he said: 'Oh, I've had that question before as well in my life... You want me to repeat what I said last year? 'I don't even remember what I said last year, really. It's just driving on, trying to push the performance and then we focus on next year.'
