DreamCloud Mattress Review: A New Design Brings Balanced Comfort
DreamCloud is an online mattress brand and the sister company to Nectar, another popular bed-in-a-box brand owned by Resident Home. It specializes in quality beds that cater to those who enjoy the pressure-relieving feel of memory foam. The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is its flagship, entry-level option that offers a great value for a variety of people looking to improve their sleep setup, and in turn, quality of rest. Our DreamCloud Mattress review shares insights from a group of eight testers who evaluated the mattress alongside more than a dozen top-rated competitors to see how it matched up. Our detailed DreamCloud Mattress review highlights the bed's major advantages, possible drawbacks ... More and who we think it's best for. ILLUSTRATION: FORBES / PHOTO: RETAILER Our testers took a look at important features like firmness, feel, ideal sleeping positions, motion isolation, edge support and more in order to gauge how the DreamCloud Classic performs for different types of individuals. Whether you're a co-sleeper, have a petite to plus-size body type or you favor sleeping on your back or stomach, there are plenty of reasons to like the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress. See our thoughts below, and who we think it's best (and least) suited for. Forbes Vetted Forbes Vetted ratings are based on thorough evaluations by our editorial team to help you choose the best products with confidence. Type: Hybrid | Brand firmness rating: Firm | Trial period: 365 nights | Warranty: Lifetime Best for: Back, stomach and combination sleepers Most body types Those with back pain Value shoppers Skip if: You're a side sleeper under 250 pounds You prefer top-notch motion isolation The DreamCloud mattress lineup recently saw upgraded design and construction changes, and the new and improved model was well-received among our testers who varied in body type, preferred sleep posture and gender. 'I would recommend this mattress to someone who wants a slight upgrade from a more value-conscious model, without veering into the 'luxury' territory,' says one tester. 'There's just enough sink to feel cradled but enough firmness to feel supported. My back issue might really benefit with this kind of hybrid,' adds another. Whether they were 150 pounds or 250 pounds, our testers praised the DreamCloud for its balanced feel and ability to relieve pressure without compromising on support. The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is 12 inches tall and contains a blend of comfortable foam layers with supportive spring coils. Although, if you prefer a memory foam feel without coils, you can upgrade to the all-foam model for around $150 more. Here's a look at the inside of the hybrid model: Cover: Finishing the mattress is a quilted top cover with a scalloped design, stitched-in foam and cooling polyethylene fiber infusions to help regulate temperature. Near the bottom of the mattress sits an 8-inch layer of pocketed coils that help reinforce the spine and prevent your back from sagging. Base layer: A dense, thin layer of foam acts as the foundation of the mattress. DreamCloud's Firmness Profile Leans More Medium-Firm The brand rates the bed as firm, but our testers found it has an ample amount of cushion that makes it feel closer to a medium-firm instead, or a 6 to 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. 'It has a lifted, cushiony feel. You get a nice level of support and are more on the bed than in it. It also feels a touch softer than the previous model of this mattress,' says Bridget Chapman , Forbes Vetted's senior mattress and sleep editor. We found the 12-inch DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress to be medium-firm. JAMEL TOPPIN FOR FORBES Another tester echoes her thoughts and says, 'It feels cushiony on the top, but with a solid firmness underneath so there's no sinkage like a true memory foam mattress . As a result, we think the DreamCloud Hybrid is best for back, stomach and plus-size side sleepers (back sleeping received an 8.5 out of 10 and stomach sleeping scored an 8 out of 10). However, prominent side sleepers should consider a soft mattress with more give to receive better pressure relief under the joints. DreamCloud Mattress Features Pressure Relief Pressure relief is an important aspect for all sleep postures, but especially side sleepers whose shoulders and hips take the brunt of force while they sleep. Because the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress has a dense, medium-firm profile, it's a little too stiff for most side sleepers, unless you weigh over 250 pounds. 'I feel a bit of pressure buildup in my hip, which is inadvertently causing some pressure between my stacked knees,' says a tester. Back and stomach sleepers, on the other hand, can feel the top cover's gentle cushioning ease pressure from the spine as they lie down. Our testers scored it an 8.5 out of 10 for overall pressure relief. Cooling The top cover on the DreamCloud Mattress is woven with cooling polyethylene fibers that help combat memory foam's natural tendency to retain heat, and its innersprings allow for air to pass through easier than foam. Most testers called its cooling feel subtle to average, but it does help regulate temperature better than a traditional memory foam bed. That said, if you're an ultra-hot sleeper, consider one of the best cooling mattresses tested by our editors that contain extra-cool reinforcements. Motion Transfer If you sleep with a partner or pet, you've likely awoken in the middle of the night from their movements carrying across the bed. A bed with good motion isolation stops those movements in their tracks. We found that the DreamCloud's capabilities are average, as we gave this category a 7.5 out of 10. If you're a light sleeper or prefer a mattress that deadens all movement across a bed, consider the all-foam DreamCloud Mattress, which is great at absorbing motion. Our team tested the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid alongside over a dozen other mattresses and found it ... More has good edge support. JAMEL TOPPIN FOR FORBES Support Every sleeper should prioritize support no matter their primary sleep posture. Back, stomach and plus-size sleepers, however, benefit from extra support to prevent the hips and spine from dipping out of alignment. One tester over 250 pounds says, 'I feel no sagging or dipping while sleeping on my back. I tend to store a lot of stress in my shoulders and upper back, and they felt fully supported.' Another heavyweight tester adds, 'My lower back feels supported [while stomach sleeping], which is good considering this position usually tweaks my back.' In total, the DreamCloud Hybrid is built to withstand up to 1,000 pounds evenly distributed (500 pounds on each side). In terms of edge support, or how sturdy the perimeter of the mattress is, the DreamCloud Hybrid performed well and scored an 8 out of 10. 'This has great edge support while lying down. I feel stable and like I could comfortably stay here all night,' says Chapman. This makes it a good choice for couples who share a small bed (full or queen size) and want to feel more supported along the side. It's also helpful for people with back problems or mobility issues, as the bed is easier to get in and out of. Ease Of Movement Especially important for combination sleepers and those with pain, the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid scored a 9 out of 10 for ease of movement. 'This mattress has a bouncy feel that makes it easy to switch positions with minimal effort,' says a tester. Although it's made with dense memory foam layers, its firmness prevents sinkage while its coils keep you from feeling stuck. DreamCloud Mattress Pricing Like most online mattresses, standard shipping is free for your DreamCloud and it arrives at your door inside of a box. However, you can upgrade to white glove delivery and old mattress removal for an extra cost. DreamCloud says you can start sleeping on the mattress after just a few hours but notes it could take up to 72 hours for it to fully expand. Trial Period And Returns DreamCloud is one of the handful of mattress brands that offers a lengthy 365-night trial, in addition to free returns in the contiguous U.S. if you decide not to keep the mattress. Just note that the brand asks you to wait at least 30 days before initiating a return to let your body acclimate to its feel. Warranty Every DreamCloud mattress includes a limited lifetime warranty that remains valid for as long as the original purchaser owns it. The warranty covers manufacturing and material defects, such as indentations deeper than 1.5 inches and physical flaws that cause the foam to degrade or split. For the first ten years of ownership, DreamCloud will replace a defective mattress with a brand new one at no cost. After ten years, the company will either repair or replace the mattress, though a transportation fee will apply. It's important to read the warranty details closely to avoid voiding coverage and understand what's included. Other Mattresses From DreamCloud DreamCloud currently offers four different mattress models that are all offered in both hybrid and all-foam constructions: the Classic, Premier, Luxe and Ultra. Learn more about the Ultra Hybrid and Premier Memory Foam below. As the brand's top-tier mattress model, the DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid offers soft contouring and doughiness that's more accommodating for side sleepers than the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid, plus it features better cooling power. The Premier Memory Foam model from DreamCloud has a few more upgrades than the flagship hybrid mattress, including a Euro top that makes it feel more plush and luxurious along with extra cooling fibers for better temperature regulation. However, it's best for those under 250 pounds because of its all-foam design. The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid offers a good value in terms of comfort, support and versatility—in fact, we named it the best value mattress of 2025. It has a medium-firm profile that's dense and cushioned at the same time, and we found it offers strong spinal reinforcement for back and stomach sleepers. 'This feels a touch softer than its predecessor, putting it in the true medium-firm range, and it has better edge support than the previous model,' says Chapman. It's also a great option if you live with back pain, since it has solid edge support and provides good ease of movement. However, people who value stellar motion isolation should consider the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress or another all-foam model instead. Side sleepers should also consider another choice that's softer, especially those under 250 pounds, like the DreamCloud Luxe or the Ultra, which offer more contouring under the body's curves. Why Trust Forbes Vetted Our mattress and sleep team consists of talented, passionate and knowledgable professionals with long-time experience in the sleep space who have created a vast library of best product guides, roundups, how-tos and more. McKenzie Dillon, author of this story, is a mattress and sleep editor at Forbes Vetted. She has over six years of writing and researching experience on sleep, earned her sleep science coach certification and has tested over 100 different beds. Bridget Chapman is the senior mattress and sleep editor at Forbes Vetted and reviewed this article. She oversees all category content alongside Dillon and contributed her expertise to our DreamCloud Mattress review after testing the bed alongside seven other individuals. Collectively, she and Dillon have tested over 200 mattresses, including most of DreamCloud's lineup. How We Tested The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress Each mattress we review is put through the same series of tests to determine how well it suits the needs of certain individuals. We also have experienced editors who contribute to and/or oversee our processes. We had eight people with different sleep posture preferences, body types and pain points test the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid Mattress and compare it to over a dozen other mattresses that are highly rated online. Testers analyzed key criteria including firmness, feel, ideal sleep posture, motion isolation, ease of movement, temperature and support. Each metric was rated on a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. How Long Does A DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress Last? DreamCloud mattresses come with a limited lifetime warranty. If a defect arises during normal use within the first ten years of ownership, DreamCloud will replace it at no cost. After ten years, the company will repair or replace it, though shipping fees apply. In general, hybrid mattresses generally last around a decade. Is The DreamCloud Firm Or Soft? DreamCloud rates its Classic Hybrid Mattress as firm, but our testers found it to be closer to medium-firm with a nice balance of cushion and support. Is DreamCloud Good For Side Sleepers? Side sleepers generally require a mattress that is soft enough to cushion the hips and shoulders with enough support to keep the spine properly aligned. The DreamCloud Classic is a little too firm for most side sleepers, but the DreamCloud Luxe and Ultra are accommodating choices.

It also offers excellent motion isolation and a lifetime warranty. If you're looking for an affordable memory foam design, we think it's a great option, especially at this price. More Deal Information: Although this discounted price has remained steady, Nectar increased the original price of this mattress in 2025—making the overall percentage off look higher. Our sleep editors were impressed by WinkBeds' plush Euro pillow top and its ability to deliver pressure relief without making you feel like you're sinking or overheating. It comes in three firmness levels, offers excellent motion isolation and feels more responsive and cooler than your average all-foam design. More Deal Information: This is a standard discount offered by WinkBeds. Score a highly rated, pressure-relieving mattress for $699 with this Cocoon sale. 'The Cocoon Chill provides all the features people love about memory foam, from its pressure-relieving feel to its motion isolating abilities, without retaining heat,' says Dillon. We recommend the hybrid iteration for sleepers around 230 pounds or more, but keep in mind that it is slightly more expensive than the classic memory foam option above. More Deal Information: This discounted price has remained steady for a few months now. For those looking for something supportive and firm, our sleep editors recommend this Plank mattress. Senior mattress and sleep editor Bridget Chapman says it's the firmest bed she's tested and that it 'offers exceptional back support and promotes neutral spinal alignment.' It's also flippable and has two firmness levels for versatility. More Deal Information: Plank offered 30% off sitewide for July 4, so this offer is slightly less impressive than the one we saw earlier this month. If you're seeking a comfortable and budget-friendly design, our sleep editors recommend the Bear Original. Our testers thought it did a great job isolating motion and that the bed fell around the medium-firm range on the mattress scale, which typically best accommodates back and stomach sleepers as well as some combination sleepers. More Deal Information: This discount is one of the best offers we've seen from Bear this year. Side sleepers on the hunt for a good memory foam mattress should consider this Layla model. It offers a flippable design, so you can try out different firmness levels, and is made of copper-infused foam to help regulate temperature throughout the night. That said, it's worth noting that our testers said they 'wouldn't consider it actively cooling.' More Deal Information: This discount is a regular offer from Layla. If you're looking for a super-soft bed, we love Amerisleep's AS5. The extra-plush design contours to your body to keep you comfortable all night. ''My hips and shoulders feel hugged by the bed, which releases any pressure buildup,' says one tester. Plus, its cool-to-the-touch cover helps prevent overheating, a common problem with all-foam beds. More Deal Information: This $500 discount is a common offer from Amerisleep. It has offered $600 in the past, but this is typically the best price we see from the brand. The Leesa Original offers features that are helpful for couples, like excellent motion isolation and good edge support. These qualities help prevent disturbances throughout the night and make the bed feel more expansive. The medium feel of this bed also accommodates a variety of sleep styles. More Deal Information: Leesa offered 30% off select beds over July 4th, but this discount matches the best offer we saw over Memorial Day weekend. The Helix Midnight Luxe is at the top of our list for the best mattresses of 2025. Our sleep editors say that it's great for side and combination sleepers who prefer a bed with a medium feel. 'If you're against memory foam mattresses but want a more plush feel, I think the Helix Midnight Luxe will be especially appealing for you,' Dillon explains. More Deal Information: This mattress was $1,733 over Memorial Day. Since then, Helix has slightly increased the original price of the mattress, but this matches the best price we've seen since the increase. If you suffer from joint or back pain, this DreamCloud mattress is an excellent option. It's firm enough to offer plenty of support but has a plush top for a little extra comfort. "It has a very luxurious, plush feel that's slightly softer than the other two DreamCloud models,' says Chapman. More Deal Information: This mattress fell to a low of $1,299 over Memorial Day weekend, but this is the lowest price we've seen since the May sale. This hybrid model from Brooklyn Bedding delivers excellent temperature regulation and accommodates just about any sleeping style. It's available in three firmness levels, isolated movement well and, according to our tester, 'has a true cool-to-the-touch sensation that many brands advertise but don't deliver on.' More Deal Information: This mattress was 30% off over July 4, but this is likely the lowest discount we'll see until another holiday weekend. While the average mattress supports up to 200 to 250 pounds per side, the Helix Plus can hold up to 500 pounds per side (1,000 pounds total). It has a medium-firm construction, but executive strategy editor Lindsay Boyers says, 'it felt plusher than most bed-in-a-box mattresses I've tried.' More Deal Information: The biggest discount we've seen from Helix is 30% off, but it hasn't beat 27% since earlier this year. My personal mattress, the Saatva Classic, employs both a classic innerspring design with a luxe European-style pillow top. It comes in three firmness levels and includes a generous warranty period and free white glove delivery—a major bonus for anyone who's ever struggled with what to do with their old mattress. More Deal Information: Saatva regularly offers $300 off select models, but this $400 discount matches the lows we typically see over holiday weekends. Side sleepers typically need a mattress that cushions their hips and shoulders. During our sleep team's testing, this model proved to have superior cushion and pressure relief for side sleepers of various body sizes. 'It's difficult to find a mattress that doesn't cause at least some discomfort around my shoulder after lying on it for a while, but I haven't felt that at all with this one,' says Chapman, who tested the plush Nolah Evolution 15 Mattress in her home for over a month. More Deal Information: This 35% discount matches the best price we usually see from Nolah over holiday weekends. The Leesa Sapira checks off all of our boxes for a great hybrid mattress: It feels luxurious and cushy with solid temperature regulation and motion absorption. Overall, our testers say the 'medium-firm model is a good middle ground for many sleeper types like back, stomach and combination sleepers.' More Deal Information: This discount matches the best price we've seen over the past two holiday weekends. This bed is plush enough to feel like a luxury hotel mattress and supportive enough to offer dependable motion isolation and edge support. It also comes with an impressive lifetime warranty. However, it may not provide enough support for sleepers who weigh over 250 pounds or primarily sleep on their back or stomach. More Deal Information: This mattress dropped by 40% over the 4th Of July holiday, so you may want to wait for another holiday weekend to get the best deal. According to Dillon, the Birch Natural Mattress 'delivers a true latex foam feel that makes you feel lifted and supported with just enough cushion from the wool batting to provide ample comfort and pressure relief.' It's especially nice for combination sleepers who need a versatile medium-firm feel to accommodate their changing sleeping positions. More Deal Information: This exclusive Forbes Vetted code matches the best discount we saw over the 4th Of July weekend. Pressure relief is one of the most important features a side sleeper should seek from their mattress to help minimize stress on the hips and shoulders. Updates writer Alex Garret says, 'Amerisleep Organica is the most ideal organic option for avid side sleepers because it combines coils with wool and Talalay latex comfort layers to provide more pressure relief than you'd expect from a latex hybrid bed.' More Deal Information: Amerisleep regularly offers $500 off its beds, but the brand recently dropped the price of this mattress from $1,749 to $1,499, making this one of the best prices we've ever seen for the Organica model. Nolah Mattress If you have a lot of joint or back pain, we recommend the Nolah Natural mattress as it's a bit softer than your average latex foam design. 'It offers a bouncy, supportive latex foam feel with more pressure relief and cushion than other models I've tested—almost like it's a blend of memory foam and latex foam," says Dillon. More Deal Details: This 35% discount is typically the best offer we see from Nolah. This PlushBeds design is perfect for sleepers seeking a little extra luxury. Chapman, who tested the medium model of the Botanical Bliss, says, 'It felt a little firmer at first, but as I settled into the bed, the layers cradled my joints—this mix of support and pressure relief felt especially comfortable back sleeping." More Deal Details: PlushBeds doesn't run sitewide promotions as often as some brands. However, it increased the original price of this bed in March, making this deal appear slightly larger than it really is. This current discount has also been live since Memorial Day. If sustainability is a top priority for your mattress, we recommend the Avocado Green. It's made with natural materials like GOLS-certified latex foam and GOTS-certified New Zealand wool, and can support a variety of sleepers, including hot sleepers and individuals with allergies. More Deal Information: Avocado often offers 10% off this model. This 15% discount matches the low we saw over the July 4th holiday, so it's a nice time to save a little extra. Hot sleepers know a cooling mattress can make a huge difference in your quality of sleep. This Saatva design is made of entirely certified organic and natural materials with a breathable coil base and moisture-wicking properties. It also tested well for responsiveness with a buoyancy that's easy to move around on. More Deal Information: Saatva often offers $300 of its beds, so this $400 discount is a nice opportunity to save even more. Shopping for a new mattress can feel overwhelming—it's a large purchase and an item that you'll ideally use nightly for years to come. There are a few important factors to consider that can help you find the perfect fit. Sleep Style Your sleeping style makes a huge difference in the type of mattress that will work best for you. For instance, side sleepers typically prefer softer models that provide ample pressure relief, while stomach sleepers will benefit from the all-around support of a firmer bed. Mattress Type Mattresses come in a variety of styles, like memory foam and innerspring. Knowing the type of mattress you want can help narrow down your search significantly. Hybrid: Hybrid designs combine a supportive coil base with a cozy foam top layer, making them a crowd-pleasing choice overall. They're a popular compromise for partners with varied sleeping styles. Memory Foam: Classic memory foam can be divisive. While the all-foam design excels at pressure relief, some sleepers describe the sinking sensation as claustrophobic. They're also known for trapping more heat than the average bed (though many modern designs now include cooling features). Classic memory foam can be divisive. Latex: Eco-conscious shoppers and sleepers who suffer from allergies may prefer a latex model. These mattresses have a similar feel to a memory foam bed, but the material is known for its long-lasting, organic properties. Eco-conscious shoppers and sleepers who suffer from allergies may prefer a latex model. These mattresses have a similar feel to a memory foam bed, but the material is known for its long-lasting, organic properties. Innerspring: The traditional innerspring bed is made up of a firmer coil base. It's a great option for sleepers who are seeking a firmer, supportive bed. Budget As with any major purchase, budget is a major deciding factor. Establish your budget early to help narrow your options and avoid overspending. After all, you won't be resting much easier on your new mattress if you feel like you've spent significantly more than you wanted. The Best Bedding Sales This Month In addition to mattress sales, you can find excellent deals on bedding right now. With warmer weather in full swing, it's the perfect time to shop and save on lighter layers like cooling sheets or coverlets. Some popular bedding brands are hosting summer events alongside mattress retailers this month; these are the best sales we've spotted so far. Our Mattress Buying Guides If you want more in-depth advice, or you're looking to browse mattresses based on a specific concern, check out some of our curated mattress buying guides to learn more about which models might work best for you. How Do I Get The Best Deal On A New Mattress? If you're determined to get the best deal on a new mattress, we recommend marking your calendar and exercising some patience. Mattresses go on sale throughout the year, but long weekends and shopping holidays are typically when you'll see the best deals. If you're willing to wait, Black Friday and Cyber Monday generally bring the lowest prices of the year—allowing you to save an additional 5 to 10% compared to other holidays. Another way to get a good deal on a new mattress is by shopping previous years' models. Retailers like Tempur-Pedic and MattressFirm allow you to shop discontinued (but still perfectly viable) designs for a lot less than what 2025 beds are going for. What Is The Best Quality Affordable Mattress? On average, foam or hybrid beds are typically more affordable than their innerspring or organic counterparts. Our sleep editors named the hybrid Allswell the best mattress in a box under $500. You can get the queen-size version of this bed for under $300. The design is definitely on the firmer side of the spectrum, but offers a neutral feel and is well-made—especially considering its modest price tag. That said, the best quality affordable mattress ultimately depends on your unique needs and preferences.
