Slow Horses season five first look: Tech nerd Roddy Ho bags glamorous new girlfriend - but all isn't as it seems

A first look at the upcoming season of Slow Horses sees tech nerd Roddy Ho bag a glamorous new girlfriend - but all isn't as it seems. The spy thriller - based on Mick Herron's novel Slough Horse - hit our screens in 2022 and has gone on to have four successful series. Fans don't have long to wait until the fifth drops, as it is set to premiere on Wednesday 24 September 2025. But autumn is still a long wait for some, and luckily on Tuesday (June 2 2025), Apple TV+ dropped a sneak peek at what is to come. AppleTV+'s official synopsis reads: 'This quick-witted spy drama follows a dysfunctional team of MI5 agents - and their obnoxious boss, the notorious Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman). 'As they navigate the espionage world's smoke and mirrors to defend England from sinister forces.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. According to the streaming service's press release, tech nerd Roddy Ho (Christopher) people start to get suspicious of his new lover. But the Slow Horses have to later come together to figure out what is going on after a series of 'bizarre events'. The star-studded cast includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, James Callis, Tom Brooke, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Ruth Bradley, and Jonathan Pryce. Nick Mohammad will also appear as a special guest star. The first two episodes will drop on Wednesday 24 September 2025. Then fans will have to wait each week for their Slow Horses fix. The first series of Slow Horses premiered in April 2022, which was later followed by a second the same year. In 2023, the third series hit the streaming service, and the latest was released in 2024. In January 2024, Slow Horses was renewed for a fifth season after fans praised the 'brilliant' season three finale. And in October last year it was announced that the hit series will return for a sixth. Apple TV revealed a six-episode sixth season is in the works, and will see the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge. Jay Hunt, creative director, Europe, Apple TV+, said: 'Audiences around the world have fallen in love with the Slow Horses, and I'm delighted that Gary Oldman will be leading this star-studded cast on another acerbic and action-packed adventure.' The show has a very impressive 98% on the Tomatometer of review site Rotten Tomatoes, as well as 88% on the Popcornmeter. Many have also rushed to IMDB to give their thoughts on the show. One said: 'Gary Oldman is brilliant, just brilliant. I've watched two episodes and I'm hooked. I love the story, the sets and setting, the acting is superb throughout. I will be watching the entire series more than once. It's the sort of Drama the UK was once famous for. A massive thumbs up to all involved.' 'This has gotten better week after week. This review is after the third episode, and this is where I feel the pace picks up, and the early character establishment starts to pay off.' 'I give it a 10 for Gary Oldham alone. He is so freaking brilliant if you don't watch the show just for that alone you're missing out. This guy is the definition of what every good actor should be.' 'This is sooooo good. Everything about this show is exceptionally good.' 'Excellent- vibrant funny & authentic- it is the humour and fantastic scripts that beguile. Brilliant acting and fast paced story lines compelling- intrigue and naturalistic performances engage and it's the most interesting and entertaining view of spy world I have ever seen.' 'Genuinely one of the best tings I've seen in so so long.' Watch Slow Horses on Apple TV now.

The Agency: Central Intelligence Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

All right, operatives: Time for your next mission. More from TVLine Yvonne Strahovski Makes Us Wonder: Did The Handmaid's Tale Finale Hint at a Pairing That Was There All Along? Criminal Minds: The Surprising Story Behind That Shocking Will Scene The Last of Us Season 3: Is Pedro Pascal Gone for Good? Here's What the EPs Say The Agency: Central Intelligence — formerly known as The Agency — is currently in production on Season 2. The Paramount+ series stars Michael Fassbender as Martian, a Central Intelligence Agency agent abruptly pulled out of an extended assignment in Ethiopia. When he's returned to the CIA's London Station, he struggles with his ongoing love for an Ethiopian woman named Sami (played by Jodie Turner-Smith), who didn't know he was a spy… but who has intrigue aplenty of her own. The series is inspired by France's The Bureau. Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth, who wrote and executive-produced Season 1, will be back for the sophomore run. We'll add any and all pertinent information to this post as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, it's your duty to scan the dossier below and get up to speed on the highly addictive spy thriller. Per Paramount+, the Season 2 cast includes Michael Fassbender (who plays Martian), Jeffrey Wright (Henry), Jodie Turner-Smith (Sami), Katherine Waterston (Naomi), Harriest Sansom Harris (Dr. Blake), John Magaro (Owen), Saura Lightfoot-Leon (Danny), Andrew Brooke (Grandpa), India Fowler (Poppy), Reza Brojerdi (Reza), Alex Reznik (Coyote) and Richard Gere (Bosko). As befits its title, there's little intel out now about The Agency: Central Intelligence's second season. But we'll be sure to update this post as soon as our informants hear anything. While Paramount+ hasn't yet released an official Season 2 synopsis, safe to say: Martian will have a lot on his hands when the new season gets underway, thanks to his agreeing to be a double agent for the United Kingdom's MI6. (What else could he do?! He did it to save Sami!) The move surely will sour Martian's relationship with Henry, as Wright noted in an interview with our sister site The Hollywood Reporter. 'Over the course of the first season, there's this relationship, this bond between the two of them that's been established. There's a mutual respect and there's this reciprocal need and trust, but you begin to see a bit of doubt creep in from Henry's perspective,' he said. 'As we go on, we'll begin to explore whether that crack widens and what is revealed inside should be fun.' As of now, there is no official release date for The Agency: Central Intelligence Season 2. We'll update this post as soon as we have scheduling information. Production on the show's sophomore run got underway in London in May 2025. No word yet on how many episodes Season 2 will have; we'll update this post when we know. For context: Season 1 of the drama consisted of 10 hour-long episodes. There's no trailer yet for The Agency: Central Intelligence Season 2. But we'll add the video to this post as soon as it becomes available.
