UPDATE: 90-year-old woman dead in pedestrian crash in Northeast El Paso, police says

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 90-year-old woman is dead after a pedestrian crash on Tuesday evening, May 20, in Northeast El Paso, El Paso Police Department (EPPD) said. 1 person hurt in crash involving pedestrian in Northeast El Paso EPPD said that officers responded at 8 p.m. on Tuesday to the 9300 block of Stahala Drive for a reported crash involving a pedestrian. The Special Traffic Investigations unit was called to assist in the investigation. The preliminary information revealed that a GMC Sierra was traveling west on Rutherford Drive approaching the intersection of Stahala Drive, EPPD said. EPPD said the truck stopped at the intersection and then made a left turn, striking a pedestrian, later identified as 90-year-old Helen Clanan, crossing the street on the crosswalk. Clanan was taken to a local hospital, and three days later, investigators were notified that she had died, EPPD said. This is the 24th traffic fatality this year. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A driver was killed early Saturday morning after hitting a tree along Benton Farm Road. Master Trooper William Bennett with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the single-vehicle crash happened around 12:15 a.m. about five miles north of Walterboro. The driver of a 2012 Chevy SUV, who was the only occupant, ran off the side of Benton Farm Road, then ran off the opposite side of the road and hit a tree. The driver did not survive the crash. NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is seeking help finding and identifying a suspect following a hit-and-run incident that happened shortly after midnight on Saturday, May 10. According to the NOPD, the victim was heading east on Interstate 10 in a Nissan Altima when she had a flat tire on while on the high rise over the Industrial Canal. Shooting reported during investigation in New Orleans East While pulled over with her hazards on at the right of the roadway, the victim was reportedly trying to get her spare tire out when a white Dodge Ram 1500 reportedly hit and killed her before the driver fled on foot. The driver of the Dodge is unknown, but is thought to be a male. Driver sought in deadly hit-and-run in San Francisco's Bayview

A man died in a hit-and-run collision in San Francisco's Bayview District on Monday morning, according to police. The collision was reported shortly after 6 a.m. in the area of Bayshore Boulevard and Jerrold Avenue, where officers arrived and found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, San Francisco police said. The man's name was not immediately available. As of midday Tuesday, investigators have not announced an arrest or released any suspect information in connection with the hit-and-run. The pedestrian advocacy group Walk San Francisco on Tuesday said the man who died was a 47-year-old pedestrian. "We are heartbroken and angry for another life lost on our streets. We are sending our deepest condolences to the victim's loved ones," Walk SF executive director Jodie Medeiros said in a statement. The group is planning a protest on the steps of City Hall next week to call on San Francisco leaders to take action to prevent traffic deaths. AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person died Sunday following a collision near Koenig Lane and Airport Boulevard. Austin-Travis County EMS and the Austin Police Department responded to the crash, and ATCEMS medics said an adult was pronounced dead at the scene after resuscitative efforts failed. According to APD, the incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m., and the driver involved in the traffic fatality remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation.
