Bugatti Just Made the New Tourbillon Hypercar Even Better
Are you concerned the new Bugatti Tourbillon isn't ridiculous enough? Don't worry, the marque has you covered. The French automaker has just unveiled the first option package for its third modern-day hypercar. Dubbed the Équipe Pur Sang, the upgrade celebrates the company's racing-rich history and adds several new elements, including six additional exhaust tips. More from Robb Report This $10 Million Brooklyn Townhouse Blends Historic Charm with Bleeding-Edge Sustainability L.A. Reid Relists His Swanky Bel Air Mansion for a Discounted $17.5 Million A $4 Million Renovation Turned This Miami Estate Into a Family-Friendly Paradise The Bugatti name may be most closely associated with exclusivity these days, but in its early days, the automaker was a major player on the track. The company was a dominant force in racing between the wars, its cars taking checkered flags at the inaugural Monaco Grand Prix in 1929 and twice at the 24 Hours of Le Mans the next decade. The new option package—the name of which translates, in English, to 'Team Thoroughbred'—is meant to pay tribute to this heritage. The Tourbillon Équipe Pur Sang may not look radically different from the base hypercar, but eagle-eyed observers will notice a couple of subtle tweaks. These include a new front splitter, upgraded directional wheels, and a deployable rear wing with small endplates to increase downforce and stability. The biggest changes can be found in the rear, where the standard two-pipe exhaust system now features eight tips. This is complemented by a reworked diffuser which helps improve aerodynamic efficiency. Inside the vehicle, you'll find new embroidered details on the dashboard and headrests. Performance seats designed to offer enhanced lateral support in the corners also come standard. The Tourbillon's hybrid powertrain remains untouched. It's not hard to see why engineers have chosen to leave well enough alone. The setup, which pairs a naturally aspirated 8.3-liter V-16 with a trio of electric motors, makes a combined 1,800 hp and 1,464 ft lbs of torque. All that power is enough to rocket the car from zero to 60 mph in two seconds flat and to a targeted top speed of 276 mph. 'With the Équipe Pur Sang option, we elevate its appearance towards the track, enabling customers to celebrate the pure racing soul that has defined Bugatti for over a century,' Hendrik Malinowski, the managing director of Bugatti, said in a statement. Has your interest been piqued? Just be prepared to spend. Bugatti has yet to announce how much the Équipe Pur Sang option package will cost, but expect to add a significant amount to the Tourbillon's $4.1 million starting of Robb Report The 2024 Chevy C8 Corvette: Everything We Know About the Powerful Mid-Engine Beast The World's Best Superyacht Shipyards The ABCs of Chartering a Yacht Click here to read the full article.

Buying a Bugatti Tourbillon? Be Sure You Check the Box for 8 Tailpipes
You have already reserved your Bugatti Tourbillon, right? The 16-cylinder masterpiece was revealed nine months ago, so you've had plenty of time to get your $4.6 million together and put your order in. If so, congratulations! It's time to option your Bugatti, and one of those options is a package that includes a ridiculous eight tailpipes. That pipe-heavy option is called Équipe Pur Sang, a package meant to pay tribute to the brand's extensive pre-war racing history. The option, which Bugatti says translates roughly to "thoroughbred team," also includes a special front splitter, rear wing, and rear diffuser. Carbon fiber engine cover inlays complete the bodywork changes. Inside, Équipe Pur Sang cars will come with unique embroidery and what Bugatti calls a "medium carbon fiber" interior package. Alcantara-finished performance seats are standard with the package, as are wheels unique to the option set. (No word on whether you can also custom-order a cup holder.) Bugatti says that all Tourbillon customers will work directly with brand representatives at either the brand's Molsheim factory or at a retail location to spec their cars. 23 new exterior paint colors, 20 new leather variations, 10 new Alcantara options, and seven new carpet colors headline the selections Bugatti owners can pick from when speccing their unique car. Most Bugattis will be built using that tool set, but some Tourbillons will likely hit the road with even more unique choices, as with the the "Golden Era" Chiron Super Sport revealed in 2023. Bugatti only plans to make 250 Tourbillons, so each of the V-16 hybrids should be fairly unique. Production is set to start next year. How Many Tailpipes Is Too Many? Bugatti Option Pack Comes with 8
The Équipe Pur Sang is the first option package we've seen for the nearly $5 million Bugatti. Meant to pay homage to Bugatti's racing history, it comes with a new front splitter, new rear diffuser, and a new rear wing. If you thought the Tourbillon was over the top before, just wait until you see the Équipe Pur Sang. It's also got eight exhaust tips. Seriously. Feast your eyes on the Bugatti Tourbillon Équipe Pur Sang. Nope, you don't need to get your eyes checked—that's eight exhaust pipes stuck to the back of the new Bug. With all those exhaust pipes stuck to the back, you might look at the name "Équipe Pur Sang" and think Equipped for song? We applaud your problem-solving skills, but the French term actually translates to Thoroughbred Team in English. The 8.3-liter V-16 probably (definitely) still sings a glorious tune, though. So what's the deal with this thoroughbred team? Bugatti says the package "pays emphatic visual testament to the Tourbillon's incomparable performance and Bugatti's motorsport history." What that really means is that it gets a new front splitter, a new rear diffuser, and a new rear wing that improves downforce and uses small endplates for more aero efficiency and improved stability in high-speed corners. Closer to the pavement, the Équipe Pur Sang package gets a special set of directional wheels that measure 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. In addition to simply looking rad, Bugatti says the thin spokes reduce turbulence and improve airflow to the rear radiator. Inside the cabin, the Équipe Pur Sang package adds special embroidery to the dashboard and on the headrests of the performance seats. The special buckets are designed to improve lateral support in high-g corners compared with the standard seats. With a combined 1775 ponies on offer, they'll surely get their use.
