There's the 'Obsidian,' Google's standard black, a vibrant 'Indigo' blue, a muted 'Frost,' and a bold 'Limoncello' green, according to tech news website 9 to 5 Google. Several leaks ahead of the launch suggest that the Pixel 10 Pro models will be available in the same 'Obsidian' black, the familiar 'Porcelain' white, a soft 'Jade' green, and the gray-blue 'Moonstone.' Cameras As far as the cameras are concerned, rumors suggest that there is going to be a greater difference between the base model and all Pro-tier phones. The initial leaks about Google's latest series had suggested that the Pixel 10 will perhaps ditch the big 50MP primary sensor for the smaller Pixel 9a system. That will mean a 48MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultrawide, but the addition of a 10.8MP 5x telephoto could be one grace-saving addition. There are no such major changes on the Pixel 10 Pro line. Pixel 10 Pro/Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold will come with 50 MP and 48 MP main cameras, respectively. As far as the selfie camera is concerned, Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold are expected to have 10.5 and 10 MP cameras, respectively. But the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL will carry a 42 MP camera.

More Pixel Watch 4 information has leaked We can see new sensors and charging contacts The wearable should launch on August 20 The Pixel Watch 4 is almost certainly going to be unveiled alongside the Pixel 10 series and the Pixel Buds 2a on Wednesday, August 20 – though Google has only confirmed the date, not what's being launched – and a new leak gives us more information on the wearable. Images posted to Reddit (via 9to5Google) show what look to be official marketing slides for the Pixel Watch 4, detailing features such as improved durability, battery life, and activity tracking accuracy – courtesy of a "Gen 3 sensor hub". That would be an upgrade on the sensors we saw with the Google Pixel Watch 3, and should mean better precision in readings such as heart rate – though we won't know for sure until we've actually had an opportunity to try it out. We also get another look at the rather unusual side charging system that showed up in an earlier leak, with charge contacts positioned on the side of the watch casing: it would appear this is how you'll be able to charge up the Pixel Watch 4. 'Technological advancements' There's plenty of positive phrasing in these marketing materials, as you would expect. The watch apparently brings "significant technological advancements" over its predecessor, together with a "premium crafted design". The battery life is listed as reaching 30 hours between charges, which is said to be a 25% boost over the current model. Better battery life had already been mentioned in previous leaks, so we're hopeful in that particular department. There's also mention of the two expected watch sizes, 41 mm and 42 mm, while Gemini integration is mentioned, as well as "dual frequency" GPS – which suggests the wearable will be more accurate and faster in reporting its location. Together with the rest of the leaked information that's also emerged in recent days, it looks as though the Pixel Watch 4 could be an appealing prospect, when it's finally confirmed – and perhaps worth a spot on our best smartwatches list. Gmail on Android is getting another round of Material 3 Expressive tweaks

Google's already given the Gmail app on Android two rounds of Material 3 Expressive facelifts, and it looks like the third round is now inbound. The first of the bunch started landing early in June, followed by more visual changes late in the same month. Google, however, isn't stopping there. With Gmail being one of the tech giant's biggest and most important apps, keeping it fresh and modern is high on its priority list. First highlighted by the folks over at 9to5Google, the app's third batch of UI facelifts brings subtle layout adjustments, a new pill-based layout for emails, and, finally, the ability to mark emails as read from the notification shade. For starters, the change brings a slimmed-down version of the app's top-aligned search bar. It functions the same, albeit with the hamburger menu (left) and profile setting/switcher icon (right) moved out of the search bar. Old (left), new (right) For what it's worth, the change isn't live for me on the latest Gmail version on two different phones and three Gmail accounts, suggesting a staggered rollout strategy. Naturally, this means that the pill-based email layout isn't widely available yet either. What's available with the build, however, is the functionality to mark an email as read directly from its notification. Get triaging First spotted in testing in late June, the convenient feature is finally available. Previously limited to Delete and Reply, Gmail notifications will now highlight a "Mark as read" action positioned right in the middle, essentially offering users a simple quality of life upgrade that streamlines inbox management. If tapped by mistake, users will have the option to quickly undo the change, as seen in the second screenshot above. Force close the Google app and Gmail if you don't see the new notification option after updating to Gmail version Gmail Google LLC COMMUNICATION Price: Free 4.2 Download

Want your calls to pop? Google's Phone app might just let you do that next

Google is giving its Phone app – a staple for millions of users – a neat little makeover. The app has always been simple and reliable, letting you handle calls, block spam, and do the usual stuff without any hassle. Now, it's adding a fun customization twist. According to a new report, instead of the usual centered profile picture when someone calls, you'll soon be able to make a fullscreen image the background. If that sounds familiar to some, it is because it is similar to a feature iPhone users got with iOS 17 in 2023. The new feature should be coming soon for all. | Image credit – 9to5Google However, Google's spin seems more like a personal extension of the profile picture than something everyone else will see. For context, Google Messages already lets you control what others see, so maybe calling cards could evolve in that direction too. When it becomes available, opening a contact's page will suggest: 'Try adding a calling card: Customize how [contact name] appears during calls.' Behind the scenes, Google calls these 'patrick' in the Phone app. Calling cards are meant to work alongside the classic circular profile picture. You can pick a photo from your Camera, Gallery, or Google Photos, adjust it, and even select a font and color for the name that shows at the top of the Incoming Call screen. This update also pairs with the Horizontal swipe or Single tap gesture for answering calls, making the experience smoother overall. The feature isn't fully rolled out yet, but some users have started seeing it in the Phone by Google 188 beta, while Contacts 4.61 has already gone wide with Material 3 Expressive. This update builds on the tweaks Google rolled out last month and is another step in its ongoing revamp of the Phone app. Overall, it is a nice touch for anyone who loves personalizing their phone. I, for one, enjoy seeing a favorite photo fill the whole screen when someone close calls – on my iPhone, it's one of those small joys. And if fullscreen calling cards aren't your vibe, you can simply ignore them.
