He has implemented a top security arrangement to put his wife of seven years' mind at ease after she was left frightened in the wake of the incident. A source close to the pair told the Mail Online: "Particularly when [Camilla] was post-partum, she was petrified she wouldn't be able to outrun this individual. "Normally she's unbreakable, the backbone of the family, but this has reduced her to a shell of the strong woman we all know. For Chris, watching this has been heartbreaking. "They have invested in top-of-the-range security systems to keep the family safe." The duo share children Wilding, five, and 18-month-old Hunter together. The Sun were the first to reveal the heartache surrounding Chris and his family after the stalker incident left him debating whether to pull out of the BBC dance contest before it had begun. Pals close to the England rugby legend said he had been targeted by the woman after briefly meeting her twice during work events last year, with the initial abuse starting six months after meeting him. He called in police after the woman threatened him with violence and spread false allegations about him and other people he worked with. The woman, who The Sun is not naming, now appears on the National Police Wanted List. England rugby legend lined up for Strictly – and pairing with show's sexiest dancer She is understood to have left the country and is being sought by cops. With the scary incident still looming, a further source told the Mail how Camilla had asked Chris to upgrade the security detail on their leafy Surrey mansion as opposed to buying her birthday gifts. They said: "They've talked about the idea of a security guard dog because they love their animals but also Camilla especially, would feel more protected. "It's heartbreaking that it's come to this but that's how seriously they are taking it. "This stalker business is no joke. She's destroyed the lives of small business owners, families, and left others thousands of pounds out of pocket. "The claims she makes are sickening, and some of her victims have been left struggling mentally after their ordeal." Chris, who retired from professional rugby in 2022, was announced as a contestant last week. Those close to him revealed his ordeal started last July when he attended the same event as the woman. She went on to make a series of disturbing and damning allegations about Chris and his wife Camilla, 39, as well as other people she worked with. A source said: 'It's been absolutely terrible for Chris and Camilla. 'He met this woman twice, very briefly, during work events and then she started telling all sorts of awful lies about him. 'He was never alone with her and they barely spoke so he's got no idea why she targeted him."

UK government warns against funding Palestine Action after Sally Rooney's cash pledge
Sally Rooney pledged to support Palestine Action (Alamy/PA) The award-winning Irish author said she would donate her earnings from her books and BBC adaptations to support the group, which was recently proscribed as a terrorist organisation in the UK. Downing Street said "support for a proscribed organisation is an offence under the Terrorism Act" and said no-one should be backing the group. The Co Mayo native said that if that backing Palestine Action "makes me a 'supporter of terror' under UK law, so be it". Writing in the Irish Times over the weekend, Ms Rooney said she would use the proceeds of her work and her public platform to continue her support for Palestine Action and "direct action against genocide in whatever way I can". Palestine Action was recently proscribed under terrorism legislation in the UK, but not under Irish law. The BBC said that Ms Rooney was not and never had been on the broadcaster's staff, adding that what novelists say and do with money previously received is a matter for them. The BBC has broadcast adaptations of Ms Rooney's novels Normal People and Conversations With Friends in recent years. Dr Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid, the ambassador of the state of Palestine in Ireland, said on Monday: "Sally Rooney is using her voice to call out international law and human rights violations in Palestine. "I hope these calls result in practical actions that will stop the horrors we're witnessing carried out by Israel in Palestine; to stop the genocide and forced displacement and end the Israeli occupation." In Westminster, Prime Minister Keir Starmer's official spokesman would not specifically address the author's comments, but said: "There is a difference between showing support for a proscribed organisation, which is an offence under the Terrorism Act, and legitimate protest in support of a cause." Asked what message No 10 would give to people considering giving money to the group, the spokesman said: "Support for a proscribed organisation is an offence under the Terrorism Act and obviously the police will, as they have set out, they will obviously implement the law within the law as you'd expect." The spokesman said Palestine Action was proscribed "based on security advice following serious attacks the group has committed, following an assessment made by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre". In a statement, a BBC spokesperson said: "Matters relating to proscribed organisations are for the relevant authorities." The BBC said it was not currently working with Ms Rooney on any upcoming projects.

Weather experts at the Met Office said some parts of mainland Scotland are ideal for getting a glimpse tonight. Auroras are caused when radiation ejected by the sun collide with earth's atmosphere. The result is a breathtaking display of green and pink lights dancing across the night sky. They are normally visible in far north and remote places with low light pollution in the Arctic, Iceland, Scandinavia and Canada. But every so often, Scotland gets it's chance to bask in the lights. And tonight is the night. Around 9pm, an aurora will pass over northern Scotland. It will be visible from 9pm until 3am. Shetland and Orkney have a 100 per cent chance of seeing the aurora, according to the Met Office. Nasa reveals mesmerising footage of Northern Lights from ISS Sutherland and Caithness in the far northern Highlands also have a very good chance of spotting one tonight. Some parts of the northeast coast may also have a slight chance of the lights putting in an appearance. The lights are set to be at their strongest at 10pm and won't be visible from the mainland after midnight. The Met Office said: "Western Scotland was the warmest and sunniest part of the UK today, and with fairly clear skies sticking around tonight, you might even catch a glimpse of the aurora." This time last year, stargazers were treated to a DOUBLE celestial special. How to see the Northern Lights? You need a clear night with no cloud cover Find a dark location with no light pollution Look toward the northern horizon Be cautious that geomagnetic activity can cause disturbances to satellite navigation (GNSS/GPS etc) Scots got to get a great look at the Perseids meteor shower AND the northern lights. In 2024, the aurora was so strong more urban places got to see them. The northern lights were visible in some areas which almost NEVER get to see them. The skies in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Edinburgh were lit up green and pink in the super-rare event. Even some places in England got to see them. 5 The Met Office revealed which areas have the best chance of seeing the lights Credit: Met Office

The shutters were pulled down on outlets in Dundee, Falkirk, Glasgow and Motherwell. But the women's fashion firm is preparing to close its Union Square store in Aberdeen, as reported by the P&J. Clearance sale signs have appeared in the store's windows in recent days. The notices inform shoppers that 'all stock must go' but it is not clear when the premises will shut. Quiz was bought in a pre-pack insolvency deal, which has seen new owners Orion save dozens of shops. Administrators closed 23 shops across the UK and Ireland which were deemed "loss-making or unsustainable". After Quiz fell into administration, CEO, Sheraz Ramzan, said: 'The Board took the difficult decision to appoint administrators to Zandra Retail Limited in light of the continuing challenging trading conditions impacting the Group's performance. "We are deeply sorry to those affected by the store closures, including our retail colleagues. "However, this decision will put the business in a more sustainable footing for the future and protect several hundred jobs as a result.'
