Apple plans new health features, satellite connectivity for Watch Ultra 3
Apple is expected to launch the third-generation Apple Watch Ultra later this year. According to a report from 9to5Mac, citing Bloomberg, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will introduce key new features focused on health tracking and off-grid communication. These include high blood pressure detection, satellite-based messaging, and support for 5G Redcap connectivity. Other than a Black Titanium version, there have not been any major changes to the Apple Watch Ultra since 2023. However, the upcoming model could deliver a significant change. Here are the advanced features expected to debut with the next generation model: Apple Watch Ultra 3: New features High Blood pressure detection According to the report, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will feature high blood pressure detection capabilities. This feature will not provide exact blood pressure readings but will notify users if they show signs of hypertension. The device is not expected to display specific diastolic or systolic numbers but will alert users when irregular blood pressure patterns are observed. The feature works similar to how the watch currently detects conditions like sleep apnea, providing early warnings rather than detailed medical data. Satellite Messaging The Apple Watch Ultra 3 will support satellite messaging, which is designed for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers. This will allow users to send text messages via satellite when cellular or Wi-Fi connections are not in range, enabling "off-the-grid" communication. The device will likely use Globalstar's satellite network, the same provider that Apple has used for satellite connectivity on iPhones since the launch of iPhone 14 series. The Watch Ultra 3 marks the first time Apple brings satellite support directly to the Watch. 5G Redcap connectivity Another addition coming to Apple's Ultra Watch 3 is the 5G Redcap support. The 5G Redcap is a more energy-efficient version of 5G, which is ideal for wearables. This 5G version offers better speed without significantly impacting battery life. This standard is designed to bridge the gap between full-fledged 5G and LTE. It will replace the existing 4G LTE connectivity, which has been the limit for previous Ultra models. What more? In addition to these three features, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is also expected to include a faster chip and an upgraded OLED display, likely aligning with the anticipated Apple Watch Series 10 models.

The untouchable Apple Watch Ultra 2 is on sale at an irresistible Prime Day discount
Is the Apple Watch Ultra 3 actually happening this year? And more importantly, should you care if the Cupertino-based leader of global smartwatch shipments rolls out an all-new rugged model by the end of 2025? I don't really think you should when the perfectly acceptable Apple Watch Ultra 2 can be had at a killer price after an unusually hefty discount of $150. On second thought, "perfectly acceptable" doesn't really do this bad boy justice, as you'll very quickly understand if you take a look at our glowing Apple Watch Ultra 2 review. GPS, Bluetooth, Cellular Connectivity, Always-On Retina Display with Up to 3000 Nits of Brightness, Apple S9 Processor, 1000m Water Resistance, Double Tap Gesture, ECG, Blood Oxygen Sensor, Sleep Apnea Detection, High and Low Heart Rate Notifications, Irregular Rhythm Alerts, Temperature Sensing, Fall Detection, Crash Detection, Siren, Up to 36 Hours of Battery Life, 49mm Titanium Case, Multiple Band, Size, and Color Options, Amazon Prime Membership Required Buy at Amazon That's pretty old, but certainly not outdated, with all the praise given to the build quality, super-bright display, silky smooth interface, and solid battery life staying pretty much as true and as relevant today as when the device was originally released nearly two years ago. Normally available for a whopping $799 apiece and substantially discounted a bunch of times in recent months by a number of major US retailers like Amazon in all sorts of different variants, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is currently marked down by the aforementioned 150 bucks exclusively for Prime members. This Prime Day 2025 deal is perhaps slightly less spectacular than the discounts received by the Apple Watch Series 10 family, not to mention the likes of Samsung's Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, during this same special Amazon sales event kicked off earlier this week. But you can still get probably the best smartwatch for your new or old iPhone at a massively reduced price in your favorite color, band style, and band size. That's definitely nothing to sneeze at, and yes, in case you're wondering, multiple models with that black titanium case released in the fall of 2024 are included in this expansive sale alongside "Rugged Titanium" and "Natural Titanium" versions. Of course, regardless of your chromatic choice, you'll be getting a rugged design here made to withstand water immersion up to 100 meters deep, as well as corrosion and even the occasional drop on a hard surface. That's only one of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 's many key selling points, which also include a customizable Action button, super-precise GPS technology, a simply unrivaled set of health tracking tools, and the aforementioned ultra-high-quality Retina display with up to 3000 nits of brightness and excellent 72-hour battery life (at least compared to the non-rugged Apple Watch Series 10 , Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, and newly unveiled Galaxy Watch 8). Secure your connection now at a bargain price! We may earn a commission if you make a purchase This offer is not available in your area.

Forget Garmin — the Apple Watch Ultra 2 just hit its lowest price ahead of Prime Day
If you've been waiting for Prime Day to buy one of the best Apple Watches, I've got good news — the Apple Watch Ultra 2 just dropped to its lowest price ever even though Amazon's retail event doesn't technically start until tomorrow. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is the best Apple Watch for most sports enthusiasts — it has that all-important action button that makes pausing your run with sweaty hands that little bit easier, plus 36 hours of life per charge in normal mode and up to 72 hours in low-power mode. Right now, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is discounted to $649 on Amazon — the lowest price ever, and $150 off! This is the lowest we've ever seen the Apple Watch Ultra 2 drop, and it's unlikely to go any cheaper on Prime Day itself, so buy it while you can! The deal is on the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in black, with the black ocean loop. I test watches for a living, and this is the only Apple Watch I'd want on my wrist if I were training for, or running a marathon. The brighter screen, for instance, makes it that much easier to glance at your stance mid-stride no matter the time of day. The 3,000 nits cut through direct sunlight with no problem. And while I wish its battery life lasted a smidge longer, it's still the most enduring watch you can buy from Apple. It's likely we're going to see the Apple Watch Ultra 3 drop later this year, but don't let this put you off. Apple is great at rolling out updates across it's entire watch range, so even when this isn't the newest Ultra on the market, it'll still get updates to keep you on track, whatever you're training for. Plus, at $649 you're getting Apple's top-tier watch at a great price.
