Prince George looks unrecognisable in throwback snaps leaving fans in awe

Prince George celebrates his 12th birthday today (Tuesday, July 22) and is already one of the nation's most beloved royals - and fans can't believe how much he has grown already Prince George is celebrating his 12th birthday today (Tuesday, July 22), and fans are in awe of just how much he has grown up. The young royal - who is second in line to the throne after dad Prince William - seems to be taking official duties in his stride already and has quickly become one of the most beloved members of the Firm. ‌ But it wasn't long ago that George - the eldest child of William and Kate Middleton - was just a toddler. Posting a series of adorable snaps to X back in 2014, the official account for Clarence House said: "The latest photos of Prince George for you! Our little Prince is pictured sitting on the steps of Kensington Palace." ‌ In the photo, a one-year-old George could be seen sporting an adorable mini grey vest with knitted images of a pair of royal guards emblazoned on the front. ‌ Under it was a collared shirt, which was paired with black shorts, long black socks and smart black shoes. In one photo, George could be seen smiling at the camera, while in another he appeared to puff out his rosy cheeks while looking upwards. In a third, he flashed a cheeky grin. ‌ Commenting on the photos, one person wrote: "He is so cute." Another agreed: "So freaking cute!!!" Meanwhile a third chimed in: "Loving the Guards on Prince George's knitwear!" ‌ "Aww so cute!" said another. George was born at St Mary's Hospital, London, on July 22, 2013. He spent the first few months of his life in Anglesey, Wales, before his parents - then the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - relocated to Kensington Palace in 2014. He completed his first official tour with his family in April of that year, which saw the young royal family spend three weeks in Australia and New Zealand. ‌ George has been fully immersed in royal life ever since, setting an example for siblings Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven. Earlier this month, George's parents welcomed Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron to the UK for a state visit. In a subtle nod to her visitors' home country, the Princess of Wales sported a stunning outfit by French fashion house Christian Dior and a hat by Jess Collett. The Christian Dior jacket is the 30 Montaigne Rose Des Vents Bar Jacket and a piece from the 2024 collection. It was reimagined by Maria Grazia Chiuri, who was inspired by the original first created in 1947 by Christian Dior himself.

Jennifer Lopez Finds a Fresh Summer Maxi Skirt

Jennifer Lopez is living La Dolce Vita this summer. (Well, she is busy living her best life in Italy at least.) The star was spotted touching down in Pisa this morning, where she is set to perform nearby in Lucca. And while it may be a full-on work trip for her, Lopez couldn't help but embrace easy-breezy vacation style while exiting the airport. Complete with a classic white dress shirt and flip-flops, it was her choice of statement skirt that especially caught our eye. Lopez is no stranger to a good maxi skirt (both on and off the red carpet) and it's no wonder why, given the piece is an easy, flowy summer staple. But her latest choice proved to be quite chic. Lopez opted for a khaki Christian Dior style that features an asymmetric hemline, smart pleating, and a thick laced-up waistline. It's like half skirt, half corset: Do we call it a skorset? has always loved a good maxi skirt Whatever we name the hybrid, one thing is for sure: It certainly strikes the right balance of dressy and structured, yet effortless. Still, this being a outfit, some diva-worthy accessories were in order, like a giant pair of aviator shades and stacks of expensive-looking gold jewelry. She also gets bonus points for her 'Jennifer' plaque necklace—we love a custom piece!—and matching gold flip-flops. Sure, she could have rocked the skorset and called it a day, but why stop there?

Playful Blush And Juicy Lip Oils: Dior Unveils New Backstage Make-Up Collection

It's no secret that the backstage of a fashion show has long been the birthplace of novel make-up techniques and soon-to-be-viral beauty trends. Whether make-up artists are flexing their creativity or teasing new product launches, this is where experts come together to dictate the make-up trends that will soon monopolise our feeds, and the behind-the-scenes tip and tricks we'll soon want to emulate in our own daily routines. This was the driving force behind Christian Dior's Backstage Collection which launched to great fanfare in 2018, giving us a taste of backstage beauty favourites and the formulas that not only withstand the runway but speak to the beauty zeitgeist, whether that's glossy, high-shine textures or bold, forward-thinking trends. The first was a face and body foundation that withstood bright lights and maintained a luminous glow that centred upon skin health rather than the concealing, caking and covering that was monopolising at the time. Years later and Dior has unveiled a new make-up collection that speaks to a growing trend for playful, juicy textures. Fronted by Jenna Ortega - who is the new face of the new collection - the latest make-up spans a glossy lip oil, an innovative powder blush, and a unique glow-enhancing stick, which all feature in a series of fun, ebullient colours. 'The concept of the Backstage Collection was to apply the expertise that you find backstage to make-up – think of it as a professional make-up artist giving you all the tools to apply your make-up at home.' shares Peter Philips, Christian Dior's Creative and Image Director. 'This new collection is far more delicious, and playful than anything we've built before,' he adds. The three-part collection is a nod to social media's fascination with glossy, glass skin textures and a resurgence of vibrant colour within make-up. The first is a Rosy Glow Stick which Philips explains reacts to the natural pH in your skin (resulting in either cool pink or warm coral undertones) and creates a beautiful wash of bespoke colour and a luminous glow. Dior has also expanded its lip range with a millennial-friendly Lip Glow Butter – this isn't the sticky, high-shine gloss of old, however; it's infused with skin-boosting peptides and nourishing squalane for long-lasting hydration. Finally - and already a firm favourite among the ELLE UK beauty team - Backstage Rosy Glow leaves a soft matte finish to skin, but unlike its counterparts, the formula adds a wash of colour that's hydrating and smooth. 'The Lip Glow Butters and blushers all react to your own pH; the aim here is to have a collection that's truly yours and a unique and personal formula for everyone,' shares Philips. Rachel Zegler Embraces Romance in Dior Gown for ‘Evita' Press Night in London

Rachel Zegler styled a design courtesy of Christian Dior's spring 2025 couture collection for the press night after party for 'Evita' in London on Tuesday. The 'Snow White' actress currently stars in the West End rendition of the Tony Award-winning musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Zegler's romantic dress featured sheer fabric and exposed boning throughout, along with intricate beadwork all over the frock. With a romantic aesthetic, Zegler's dress also featured a playful use of proportions, including a voluminous skirt that juxtaposed the fitted bodice of the dress from the French luxury fashion house. The actress and singer's hair was styled by Dayaruci, with makeup by artist Valeria Ferreira. Zegler's look was curated by stylist Sarah Slutsky Tooley, who also works with McKenna Grace and Renée Elise Goldsberry, among others. Zegler's 'Evita' after party look made its runway debut during Paris Couture Week last January. Curated by Maria Grazia Chiuri, who announced in May that she was stepping down from her role as the women's artistic director, the collection 'was a festival of diaphanous corsets, crinolines and fitted tailcoats,' Joelle Diderich wrote in WWD's review of the collection. 'Wraparound panels embroidered with the botanical drawings of Indian artist Rithika Merchant were echoed in hoop skirts dripping with tendrils of lace and embroidered flowers, although these distracted somewhat from the core idea of the show, which was a playful exploration of silhouettes and proportions,' Diderich wrote. Zegler has a close relationship with the French luxury fashion house. In December 2023, Dior appointed the actress and singer as a brand ambassador. Along with wearing designs from Dior's women's collections, Zegler also works in tandem with Peter Philips, creative and image director of Dior Makeup. Those Ugly Shoes? She'll Make You Love Them.

Back in late 2018, a lifetime ago in fashion, a radical shift happened in footwear. Square-toed clunkers — sandals defined by exaggerated, spatula-like soles that jutted out from under the foot and pumps with bulbous stubbed toes — were shown in Daniel Lee's first collection for Bottega Veneta. At first sight, the shoes were hideous. Within months, they were on the feet of nearly every celebrity, editor, influencer and luxury V.I.C. in the land. Retailers like Vince Camuto and Shein promptly issued dupes of the popular Lido sandal, a simple slide in a blown-up interpretation of Bottega's signature intrecciato woven leather. Lyst declared them the 'hottest shoes in the world' in 2019. 'It's funny what you can make people wear in fashion if it's done the right way,' said Nina Christen, the Swiss shoe designer responsible for the Lido. Ms. Christen's distinctive touch has quite literally been all over some of the most influential shoe design trickling down from luxury houses for the better part of the last decade. She has worked for Phoebe Philo at Celine, Jonathan Anderson at Loewe, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen at the Row and Mr. Lee at Bottega Veneta. Last month, Mr. Anderson hired Ms. Christen as the design director of shoes at Christian Dior. It's one of the biggest jobs in fashion right now, and she is balancing it with a moonlighting gig, too. Last year, Ms. Christen introduced Christen, her own independent shoe brand. The first pure expression of her design identity came partly out of frustration. The shoes she designed for other brands were her taste, her take, she said, 'but they were never 100 percent myself.' Opportunity arose when she met Paul Dupuy, an entrepreneur and a founder of Zoi, a health-tech company in the longevity space. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.
