Internet erupts at Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau's VERY cozy dinner date: 'Not on my celeb hookup bingo card!'

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau fans have been left baffled after the unlikely pair were spotted on a cozy dinner date this week. The singer, 40, who confirmed her split from fiance Orlando Bloom last month, and the former Canadian Prime Minister, 53, were filmed dining together in Montreal at the city's Le Violon restaurant. In a video obtained by Daily Mail, the pair leaned over a table towards one another as they intimately chatted. A smiling Perry, who is currently on the Canadian leg of her panned Lifetimes Tour, was seen gesturing as Trudeau intently listened. They were later seen grabbing drinks together. Social media erupted at the pair's date, with one fan writing: 'Did not have that one on my celebrity hookup bingo card. Others wrote: 'Both reminiscing their peaks in 2015. 'That's the most random couple I can imagine getting together in 2025 'def didn't have this on my 2025 bingo card 'Imagine the stimulating conversation these two geniuses must be having. 'You could have given me a million guesses as to who his new girlfriend was and it would never have been Katy Perry lol. 'Sort of makes sense, maybe they're bonding over their loss in popularity together. 'Or perhaps Justin is trying to get a music deal for his son's rap music.' Another quipped about Perry's panned Blue Origin mission: 'Good for her. After all she's been through, the trials and tribulations of being an astronaut while trying to be a single mom, she deserves to be happy. 'They are both insufferable, might just work out for them.' Daily Mail has contacted representatives for comment and has yet to hear back. It has been a tough few months for the unlikely pairing - with Perry weathering her tough split from former fiance Bloom, a flop album, 143, and immense backlash over her April Blue Origin space trip. Perry and Trudeau started their romantic evening with a park stroll, and headed for drinks after dinner at Taverne Atlantic, with sources telling TMZ they enjoyed some drinks on the terrace. In a video obtained by the publication, the popstar looked sensational in a black and white dress, while Trudeau cut a dapper figure in a navy shirt and slacks. Meanwhile, Trudeau is navigating life outside of 24 Sussex after his resignation in January following a dramatic fall from grace. Trudeau shares three children with ex wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, from whom he announced a split in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. Sophie was a childhood friend and classmate of Trudeau's older brother Michel, who died in an avalanche in 1998 aged 23. They began dating in 2003 after reconnecting as adults and were engaged a short time afterwards. Perry shares one daughter Daisy, four, with Bloom, 48. Perry and Bloom began dating in 2016 and got engaged on Valentine's Day 2019. Split speculation swirled for months before the pair finally confirmed the end of their romance last month. Pouring fuel on the fire, Bloom went alone to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez 's star-studded wedding in Venice, with Perry in Australia on tour. Bloom shared a cryptic Instagram post about 'loneliness' and 'darkness' while Perry was seen breaking down in tears onstage at her last Australian show. Representatives for the pair confirmed to Daily Mail last month that 'Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is - and always will be - raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.' Last month, a source told Us Weekly: 'Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,' while also adding that the separation has been 'not contentious' thus far. 'Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.' The Teenage Dream hitmaker - who is currently on her Lifetimes Tour - was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 until their divorce in 2012. The insider further added that the reported breakup had been 'a long time coming' and that their relationship had also been 'tense for months.' Last month, People claimed Perry's poorly performing album 143 had caused 'tension' in her relationship with her fiancé. The singer's seventh studio album was released in September 2024 and received a largely negative response from fans and critics alike, who claimed the record sounds as if it was 'generated through AI.' Perry's career continued to suffer from her 11-minute space flight which saw her join Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez for the all-female trip in April - with Bloom said to have found the intergalactic mission 'cringe' and 'embarrassing'. Perry was seen floating inside the capsule holding a daisy in a nod to Daisy. She was ridiculed on landing back to Earth and emerging with the flower in hand which she held to the sky before dropping to her knees and kissing the ground. She then proceeded to claim she was 'super connected to love' and thanked a reporter who incorrectly referred to her as an astronaut. It wasn't long before she was branded 'tone deaf' and 'dramatic' for her actions, which came days after NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore returned to Earth after being stranded in space for more than nine months. During her show to a sold-out crowd at Chicago's United Center on May 12, the singer addressed being the 'most hated person on the Internet. In a video captured by a fan, the star takes a moment to look around at her fans, and says: 'Well, I thought I was the most hated person on the internet. 'I think that's false' Perry gushed as the cheering got louder. Trudeau announced on January 6 that he was stepping down as the Liberal party leader but stayed on as prime minister until his successor was chosen on March 9. In emotional remarks Trudeau, who served as Prime Minister since 2015, said: 'Last night over dinner I told my kids about the decision that I'm sharing with you today. I intend to resign as party leader, as Prime Minister.' With his government in turmoil, Trudeau said Parliament would be suspended until March 24 while his Liberal Party chooses a new leader. He was succeeded by Mike Carney. The scion of one of Canada 's most famous political families had become deeply unpopular in recent years over a range of issues including the soaring cost of food and housing, and surging immigration. Trump had repeatedly mocked the former Canadian leader by suggesting his country would be better off as the 51st U.S. state. Trudeau's decision came after he faced weeks of pressure from party colleagues amid a bitter rift over how to handle relations with Trump in his second term. Trump announced on social media after his reelection a plan to introduce a 25 percent tariff on goods from Canada , which led Trudeau into a frenzy to try and clean-up his relationship with the U.S. president-elect before he is sworn into office later this month. The day after unveiling the idea, Trudeau immediately flew down to Mar-a-Lago to do damage control. During that meeting, reports emerged detailing how Trudeau pleaded with Trump not to impose the tariffs and claimed it would kill Canada's economy. Last month Trump revealed he would raise tariffs on Canadian products to 35 percent from August 1. Trump said the tariff hike was in part due to the fentanyl crisis and Canada's 'failure to stop the drugs from pouring into our country '.

The Fireworks singer, 40 and Trudeau, 53, looked deep in conversation at Montreal's Le Violon restaurant in a short video. In the clip, filmed by an onlooker, Katy can be seen leaning in to hear Trudeau over a table in the Canadian city, as she smiled with her dark hair down, while the politician wore a brown jacket. Alongside the video of their dinner obtained by Daily Mail, TMZ also report the pair headed out earlier in the evening to have a few drinks on the terrace at Taverne Atlantic. Le Violon chef Danny Smiles told the US outlet there was no PDA when he served them. It's not clear whether the pair are romantically involved, or just enjoying a casual dinner together while Katy is on the Canadian leg of her Lifetimes Tour. While the Lord of the Rings actor, 48, and the popstar never tied the knot, they got engaged in 2019 and share a four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. In a joint statement issued to US media outlets in July, representatives for the couple said the pair 'have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting'. 'They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect,' it continued. Sources claimed that the former couple 'had to admit' they would be better parents to their daughter if they weren't a couple. 'They are there for Daisy and have been,' added the source. 'They want to keep a friendly relationship so each can be around her separately or together.' While Bloom has posted cryptic messages on social media about 'new beginnings' since, Katy has ditched her engagement ring on public outings. Meanwhile, Trudeau announced his resignation in January after 10 years in power ahead of a major election, as opposition grew following a series of by-election defeats. Got a story? Terry Long's devastated family tell how Manhattan shooter's suicide note reopened wounds over how football killed him and his nephew, 15

The sister of the ex-NFL player named in New York City shooter Shane Tamura's suicide note shared her heartbreak over football being tied to yet another family tragedy. Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail, Robin Ellison, 65, said it was 'emotional' and 'disheartening' hearing Tamura had mentioned her brother, Terry Long, the former Pittsburgh Steelers player who tragically took his own life in 2005. And she revealed that her own son died of heatstroke aged just 15 following a football workout in high school. Long was diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain disease caused by head injuries which is rife among some retired football players. In his garbled suicide note, Tamura, a star football player in high school, vented his perceived grievances with the NFL and its handling of CTE. In his chilling missive, Tamura – who was a promising high school player in California – appeared to claim to have the disease and wrote: 'Terry Long football gave me CTE and it caused me to drink a gallon of antifreeze. 'You can't go against the NFL, they'll squash you. Study my brain please, I'm sorry.' Tamura, 27, was caught on chilling surveillance footage wielding an M4 assault rifle as he entered the Midtown building that houses the NFL headquarters, where he gunned down four people Monday New York Mayor Eric Adams said the city's medical examiner will decide whether to test Tamura for CTE. Ellison, who lives in Smyrna, Georgia, tearfully told Daily Mail her brother's name returning to the national news served as a painful reminder of her family's 'bad experience' with football. She said: 'It makes me very emotional, because I had a son Marcus who died of heat stroke the first day of practice and my brother died, something to do with football. 'I get teared up because I really miss my little brother. 'He was a big teddy bear. He loved his mother. It makes me sad.' Tragically, she told how her son Marcus died in August 1999, aged just 15, after collapsing during a pre-season workout for his high school football team in Atlanta. Officials classified his death as a 'heat-related injury'. Long died in June 2005, aged 45, after taking his own life by drinking antifreeze, according to a revised 2006 death certificate. A coroner initially ruled that he died of meningitis after he was found unresponsive at his home. He died in the hospital and was later diagnosed with CTE. Ellison, who is one of seven siblings, said her family shielded her from much of the trauma around her brother's death after the loss of her son. She added: 'I couldn't, I didn't want to relate to it at the time [of Terry's death], because it brought back too many memories of the incident with my son. I won't even attend games right now. 'My family have not had a good experience with football. With the death of a child and the death of a sibling, it is overwhelming. Two of Tamura's four victims have since been identified as Blackstone executive Wesley LePatner (left) and Cornell graduate Julia Hyman 'It makes me sad to know that he [Tamura] used my brother's name, and it brings tears in my heart, because football has been a tragic thing for me…and my family because we lost two family members due to football-related incidents.' Long's brother, Reginald Long, said he was 'surprised' by the news his brother had been mentioned by Tamura, but added: 'The guy [Tamura] sounded like he had some illness, so the only thing I can do is pray for him and everybody who is involved. 'They say he had some illness, so hopefully we just need to do a better job of working on the mentally ill. 'People have some serious issues out here and we don't address them as a country, as a community, so things like this happen.' He suggested he and Long had been close growing up, but he didn't know anything about his brother's later struggles in life. Long's widow Lynne declined to comment on the mention of her husband in the shooter's note when contacted at her home in New Kent, Virginia. 'This is just a horrible, horrible, horrible situation,' she said. Tamura had obtained a firearm permit from the Las Vegas Police Department. Long's brother, Reginald, said the shooter sounded mentally ill and stressed that the country needs to address the mental health crisis to prevent tragedies like Monday night's shooting Tamura, from Las Vegas, shot dead four people, including an off-duty cop, after storming 345 Park Avenue, in Midtown, Manhattan, on Monday evening, before turning the gun on himself. Officials believe Tamura – who had a 'documented mental health history' - intended to target the NFL's HQ on the fifth floor of the building but mistakenly took the wrong elevator up to the 33rd floor offices of building management firm, Rudin. However, an employee of the NFL was 'seriously injured' after he was shot in the back - but still managed to alert his colleagues to allow them to escape. Craig Clementi was on the phone with other league staff when he was struck in the back with a bullet allegedly shot by Tamura. Clementi, who just recently welcomed a new baby, was able to tell his colleagues to evacuate the building and to stay safe. Tamura played football at his high school in California as a running back, with his former coach Walter Roby telling NBC: 'He came in, worked hard, kept his nose down. The Las Vegas home where Tamura lived with his parents 'He was a quiet kid, well-mannered, very coachable. Whatever needed to be done, he would do. I'm just blown away right now.' Long was born in South Carolina and played at college level for the East Carolina Pirates from 1980 until 1983. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers as a guard throughout his seven-year career, which ended in 1991. He was reportedly suspended for violating the NFL's steroid policy and attempted suicide, before later being admitted to a psychiatric ward for a mental health evaluation. In the months before his suicide, Long reportedly faced legal issues including federal charges he fraudulently obtained loans for a chicken-processing plant which prosecutors allege he burned to the ground in September 2003 for the insurance money. He was arrested in late March that year and released on $10,000 bond. After his death, Long was diagnosed with CTE, joining the ranks of hundreds of ex-NFL players who were found to have the disease after their deaths.

Gwyneth Paltrow's cruel nickname for Winona Ryder revealed as new biography lays bare actress's mean girl past

Gwyneth Paltrow is known to preach wellness and self-care today, but her early years were anything but zen, a bombshell new biography claims. The actress and Goop founder, 52, mocked her classmates, iced out friends, and once gave Winona Ryder the savage nickname 'Vagina Ryder', in one of several brutal Hollywood fallouts, according to the book. In Gwyneth: The Biography - published July 29 - journalist Amy Odell reveals Paltrow was once close friends with Ryder but grew to despise her after suspecting her of fabricating stories for attention. At the time, Paltrow was dating Ben Affleck and Ryder was dating his best friend, Matt Damon - making the two couples a Hollywood power foursome until the actress's friendship with the pair soured. According to Odell, Paltrow also harbored disdain for Damon's co-star Minnie Driver, believing that the English actress had an 'air of faux British aristocracy'. After organizing a birthday party for Driver in 1997, Paltrow is alleged to have rolled her eyes and made a vomiting gesture when the actress wasn't looking, the book states. The biography also revisits Paltrow's discomfort while filming 1998 crime thriller A Perfect Murder opposite co-star Michael Douglas, who was cast as her husband despite being almost 30 years her senior. Paltrow, then 25, was reportedly uneasy with their romantic scenes, finding the experience 'creepy'. Odell's unauthorized biography of Paltrow has already seen explosive revelations about her previous relationships, including those with Brad Pitt and ex-husband Chris Martin, which Daily Mail has exclusively reported. But the book also delves into her privileged upbringing, ruthless climb to fame, and petty grudges with fellow Hollywood heavyweights. In the late 90s, Paltrow's star was on the rise although she had not yet starred in the role that would earn her the Oscar for Best Actress - Shakespeare in Love. Yet Odell writes that she had a habit of burning through friends on her way to the top, and that included Ryder. After breaking up with Brad Pitt in 1997, Paltrow moved into Ryder's house, apparently for consolation from her friend, but their friendship would soon crumble. According to the book, following an argument between Ryder and then-boyfriend Damon, Ryder left their New York apartment to say she had been robbed. Then Ryder left the home a second time, came back and claimed she had been robbed again. While Damon was sympathetic, Paltrow was convinced it was a ploy for attention and from there, the friendship deteriorated. 'Damon consoled her but Gwyneth and Affleck believed Ryder fabricated the robberies as a ploy for attention (there's no proof of this),' the book states. 'Gwyneth was annoyed that Damon couldn't see it. Though Damon was kind to her friends, Gwyneth didn't seem to like him after that. 'Her friendship with Ryder would only deteriorate further, and Gwyneth gave her the nickname "Vagina Ryder".' Ryder and Damon began dating after the actor had split with Driver, whom he met on the set of the movie Good Will Hunting. Driver would later claim that she only realized Damon had dumped her when he went on the Oprah Winfrey Show and said he was single. But Paltrow told friends that this was 'untrue'. 'Gwyneth understandably wanted to take her boyfriend's friend's side but she also seemed to sour on Driver,' Odell writes. She considered Driver an 'air-kiss friend' and disliked her alleged 'fake' aristocratic persona. Once while doing a photo shoot at a rented house in Los Angeles, Paltrow swallowed her distaste for Driver and organized a last-minute birthday party for her. 'When Driver wasn't looking, Gwyneth rolled her eyes to friends and mimed vomiting by putting her finger in her mouth,' the book states. Paltrow's icy reputation apparently extended to her on-set experiences, particularly while filming A Perfect Murder, according to the author. Though co-star Michael Douglas had been a longtime family friend - through Paltrow's late father, director Bruce Paltrow - the prospect of doing a nude scene with the then 53-year-old actor was too much. Odell writes that Paltrow 'hated' working with Douglas and found the 'whole experience creepy'. Paltrow later said that she thought the whole thing was a joke between her father and Douglas, describing it as a 'guy thing' between them. Odell quotes somebody who worked closely with Paltrow at Miramax as saying that in reality, she was more uncomfortable than she let on. In fact, Paltrow refused to fly back to Los Angeles for reshoots, prompting director Andy Davis to fume over the costly delays. According to the book, Davis said: 'Douglas was sort of saying, "Who is this prima donna that she won't come back to LA?" 'It's going to cost us millions of dollars to rebuild this set in London'. Paltrow's attitude resurfaced on the set of Shakespeare in Love in 1998 where she seemed deeply unimpressed with the production, despite filming taking place in a full size recreation of Shakespeare's Globe the 16th century theater in London where the playwright's plays were originally staged. One person who worked on the film remembered Paltrow was chewing gum on set and was 'looking like she didn't want to be there'. She was overheard saying 'I'm so over this', but it wasn't clear if she meant the UK, the film, or both. Elsewhere in the book there is an eye-popping and at times scathing account about Paltrow's privileged life as perhaps the ultimate 'nepo baby'. Her mother was screen legend Blythe Danner and her father was a director, meaning she grew up on the sets of films her parents were creating. According to the book, before the age of 10 Paltrow 'noticed early on that the world was eager to give her what she wanted and she didn't need anyone's permission to get it'. At Spence, the elite, $68,000-a-year prep school in New York that Paltrow attended, she was known to be 'polarizing' and sometimes 'cruel'. Former pupils noticed that Paltrow was 'remarkably adept at reading people' and smart enough to make 'devastating comebacks' when they tried to mock her. Everyone was 'terrified of her and in awe of her and wanted to be her', former classmates told Odell. The book claims that Paltrow, who remained thin throughout her youth, once fat-shamed another student with an unsubtle comment about her appearance. Paltrow supposedly told another girl: 'Isn't it interesting how different people's bodies are?' Part of the reason for Paltrow's 'supernatural confidence' was that she was born into 'Hollywood royalty', Odell says. Her godfather was Steven Spielberg, who she referred to as 'Uncle Morty': he got her one of her first big breaks in Hook, which came out in 1991. Paltrow's father treated her like a 'female Jesus Christ' and spoiled her so much he joked she didn't know how to turn right on a plane because she was so used to turning left to get to First Class. Discipline appears to have been light in Paltrow's house and she was allowed to stay out late partying and miss school. When the school would call up Paltrow was so brazen that she pretended to be her mother but didn't last long and was ordered back to class. But Paltrow's spotty academic record became an issue when it came time to go to college. After being rejected by Vassar for poor grades, her parents turned to a family friend to get her into the University of California. Michael Douglas duly stepped up, made the call, and Paltrow was admitted - but dropped out after a year to pursue acting. It would start a remarkable glide to fame and wealth which Paltrow still rides today, including a careful control over her image. Odell's previous book was about Anna Wintour and says that trying to get people to talk about Paltrow was more difficult than the Vogue editor, who provided some friends to speak on her behalf. According to Odell, people who used to work for Paltrow were 'terrified' of speaking about her. 'Her Goop staff seemed cagier than many of Wintour's former employees', Odell says. Some had seen Paltrow 'take action' against those who had crossed her in the past. As Paltrow herself has said: 'I can be mean. I can ice people out and I can definitely harbor revenge'.

Netflix 'axe huge reality show after just one series as it's branded the most expensive flop in years'

Netflix have reportedly axed huge reality show Battle Camp after just one series. The celebrity challenge show made its debut on the streaming service back in April, however, it failed to make an impact with viewers and critics alike, reports The Sun. The programme was filmed in Mexico and featured a host of reality stars from shows including Too Hot to Handle, Love Is Blind and The Circle. However, it has not been given the green light for a second series due to a poor response from audiences and high costs, with the publication reporting that it's Netflix's 'most expensive flop in years.' A source said of the 10-part show: 'There were so many individuals taking part in the show, with 18 contestants in total. The fact that they all charged a fee to take part and that it was filmed on location, made it unusually costly. 'Plus the format — set in a camp which was purpose-built from scratch for the show — relied on multiple challenges, each costing big money to set up. It was an expense Netflix would have been happy to shoulder, except it didn't meet their expectations. 'The hope was that it would create the sense of there being a 'Netflix reality universe', but most people who watched it didn't think the show was out of this world.' Daily Mail have contacted Netflix for comment. Battle Camp's axe comes hot on the heels of another expensive to make celeb-based show, Celebrity Bear Hunt, also being cut after one series back in June. The programme, which was set in Costa Rica and was hosted by Holly Willoughby alongside Bear Grylls, will not return despite the star saying that he was hopeful it would. Sources close to the show which aired in February say that while the ratings did well it was expensive to make and Netflix are now planning to do more live events rather than pre-recorded shows. One told Daily Mail: 'Everyone was very proud of the show but when it came to it, it was just so expensive to make. 'You had to have a whole set in Costa Rica, loads of staff and loads of celebrities. The overheads were eyewatering.' It is understood that cheaper locations were looked at but nothing was appeared to be suitable. Battle Camp's axe comes hot on the heels of another celeb-based show, Celebrity Bear Hunt, also being cut after one series back in June [host Holly Willoughby pictured] Meanwhile, Netflix axed a 'gem of a series' that has been dubbed 'fantastically binge-worthy' despite its perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. Wrestlers, directed by Greg Whitley, hit the streaming service back on 13 September 2023. Netflix's official synopsis reads: 'At a storied professional wrestling organization, new owners and a roster of stars strive to make an impact beyond the ring in this documentary series.' It stars professional wrestler Al Snow, 62, and those who are in The Ohio Valley Wrestling school. The docu-series aired a total of seven episodes and unfortunately it has been confirmed that it won't be coming back.
