Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi at the ministry's office in the Makkah region on Tuesday. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the latest developments and efforts to achieve security and stability in the region. The meeting was attended by Prince Musab Al-Farhan, advisor to the minister of foreign affairs for political affairs; Mohammed Al-Yahya, advisor to the minister; Nasser Al-Ghannoum, director general of the General Administration for Asian Countries; and Dr. Manal Radwan, advisor at the ministry of foreign affairs.

Prince Faisal leads Saudi delegation attending BRICS Summit in Brazil
Saudi Gazette report RIO DE JENEIRO — On behalf of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan is leading Saudi Arabia's delegation in the 17th BRICS Summit 2025, which began in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Sunday. Saudi Arabia is participating in the summit as an invited country to join the BRICS group. Prince Faisal is attending the second day of the summit on Monday. The summit is being attended by partner countries and guest countries invited by the presidency, as well as international organizations. The discussions focus on global development efforts, including climate issues and the fight against pandemics and diseases. As the Chair of BRICS, Brazil is focusing on the theme, 'Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance'. Initially comprised of Brazil, the Russian Federation, India, China, and South Africa, the recently expanded alliance now also includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The BRICS countries convene for a BRICS Leaders' Summit annually. Discussions also focus on spheres of political and socioeconomic coordination, in which member countries have identified business opportunities, economic complementarities, and areas of cooperation.

Saudi, British FMs Discuss Regional Developments
The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and his British counterpart, David Lammy, discussed the latest developments in the region in a phone call, according to the Saudi Foreign Ministry. In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said that Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a phone call from Lammy, during which they reviewed relations between Saudi Arabia and the UK. Moreover, the two ministers discussed the latest regional developments and efforts made towards addressing them. Lammy is on a visit to the Middle East, during which he visited Syria on Friday and met with the Syrian Transitional President, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, and Foreign Minister, Asaad Al-Shaibani. The meeting resulted in re-establishing diplomatic ties between the UK and Syria. Lammy reaffirmed UK support to the Syrian government to deliver its commitments to build a more secure and prosperous future for Syrians, increasing security in the wider region and the UK. He also stressed the importance of an inclusive and representative political transition in Syria and offer continued UK support to the Syrian people, the UK Foreign Office said in a press release. Furthermore, the British Foreign Secretary on Sunday traveled to Kuwait, where he met with the Kuwaiti Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah; Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; and Kuwaiti Finance Minister, Noora Al-Fassam. He also co-chaired the 2nd UK-Kuwait Strategic Dialogue on bilateral priorities and regional security, alongside the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, Abdullah Ali Al-Yaha, Lammy posted on X.
