Fred Sirieix's Olympian daughter pulls out of World Championships as she releases emotional statement on mental health

OLYMPIC diver Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix has pulled out of the 2025 World Championships after suffering from "mental blocks". The 20-year-old, who is the daughter of First Dates star Fred Sirieix, won bronze alongside Lois Toulson in the synchronised 10m platform at the 2024 Paris Olympics. 8 Andrea also claimed bronze at the World Aquatics Championships last year, but will miss this month's event in Singapore, from 11 July to 3 August. Andrea wrote in an emotional Instagram statement: "Unfortunately, I won't be attending the World Championships this year. "I've had a tough battle with mental blocks in diving this season, and I've tried to fight through them, but I've decided it would be best for me to take a break from the pool. "I am getting all the help I need from my family, my coach and my support team at Aquatics GB and I am so thankful for their love and support. "As an athlete, the words 'rest' and 'break' are foreign, but I know that this period will greatly help me in the long run. "I am sad to not be joining my team and international friends out in Singapore, but I know they will do amazingly and I can't wait to see them shine." Part of the travelling Team GB cohort is Andrea's boyfriend Ben Cutmore, who has won three European bronze medals at 10m. But this is not the first time a "mental block" has affected Andrea, with the Team GB star suffering from the dreaded 'Twisties' in 2020. 8 8 It was the same phenomenon that forced US gymnastics legend Simone Biles to quit the Olympics that same year. After making her debut aged 16 at the Tokyo Olympics, where she finished sixth, Andrea cut an emotional figure, telling the BBC: "Three years ago, I didn't even want to be alive. Olympic gold medalist Tom Daley arrives at Wimbledon "So today I'm just happy that I am alive, that I'm breathing and that I've got my family to support me." Her dad, star of' Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip', was there watching on four years later in what was a hugely proud moment. 8 After winning synchro bronze in Paris, Andrea missed out on becoming the first British woman to claim two Olympic diving medals in the 10m platform. After the Paris Games she reflected on the experience and lifted the lid on previous battles against poor mental health on Instagram. She wrote: "Alive. Breath in my lungs. My heart is overflowing. I can't quite put into words how grateful I feel at this moment. The amount of support, encouragement and love is truly overwhelming." In 2022, Andrea was riding high after becoming a junior world champion, winning two senior European titles and two gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Moolec Science Secures Core U.S. Patent for Piggy Sooy(TM), Soybean Expressing Up to 30% of Animal Protein

WARWICK, GB / / June 18, 2025 / Moolec Science Limited a wholly-owned subsidiary of Moolec Science SA (NASDAQ:MLEC; "The Company"; "Moolec"), a science-based food ingredient company focused on producing animal proteins and nutritional oils in plants, announced today that it has received a Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its proprietary groundbreaking Piggy Sooy™ technology - soybean plant engineered to express high levels of porcine hemeproteins in their seeds. Piggy Sooy™ is the first patented soybean technology designed to produce high levels of porcine hemeproteins directly in the seeds. The U.S. patent covers the plants and seeds, the method used to develop them, and food compositions derived from this breakthrough innovation. In April 2024, the USDA-APHIS confirmed that Piggy Sooy™ does not present plant pest risk difference from conventional soybeans, determining it is not subject to regulation under 7 CFR part 340 - a key regulatory milestone toward commercialization. Moolec's Chief Science Officer, Amit Dhingra, stated: "Initial field trials demonstrated promising production yield, with over 20% animal protein content in the total soluble protein fraction. Furthermore, the deployment of Piggy Sooy™ technology presents compelling environmental benefits when compared to traditional agricultural and meat production practices. One acre of Piggy Sooy™ has the potential capacity to produce the same amount of protein as approximately 10 pigs, using ~35x less land, generating ~8x less water footprint and ~60x less CO2 emissions. These multifaceted benefits make Piggy Sooy™ a game-changer in sustainable protein production." This patent provides Moolec with exclusive commercial rights to Piggy Sooy™ technology in the U.S. until 2042, significantly strengthening the Company's intellectual property portfolio. This is the first in a series of over fifteen patent applications filed globally aimed at protecting Moolec's Molecular Farming innovations. "Our experience has taught us that long-term success in biotechnology is built on securing robust, enforceable intellectual property. This patent validates Moolec's scientific leadership in Molecular Farming and protects a technology with unprecedented levels of animal protein expression in plants. It's not only a recognition of our innovation, but a vital asset that allows us to advance confidently toward commercialization and build a differentiated position in our food and feed ingredients business," said Alejandro Antalich, CEO of Moolec Science. Rape accused should be hanged, says law college vice-principal after GB meeting

1 2 Kolkata: The vice-principal of the law college where a first-year student was gang raped said the perpetrators should be hanged even as the governing body expelled Monojit Mishra and decided to appeal to the bar council for the cancellation of his licence to practice in court. "The rapists should be hanged for committing such a heinous crime on the college premises," Nayna Chatterjee, the vice-principal of the law college said after the governing body meeting on Tuesday. The meeting had been convened following a nudge from the higher education department to discuss issues that have come to the fore in the wake of the incident. The governing body expelled the key accused, Mishra, who was working as a casual staff member at the college since last year. He will also be asked to return the money that he had been paid by the college. Pramit Mukherjee and Zaib Ahmed — the other two accused — were barred from the campus and won't be able to get admission to any institute in Bengal. The governing body will also appeal to the bar council for the cancellation of Mishra's licence. The college will appoint female security staff, too. The governing body president Ashok Deb said: "GB has strongly condemned this incident, and we want all the accused to receive the highest punishment. No one will be spared, and GB members will cooperate with the investigative agency." He also stated that classes would stay suspended until police permission was given to start regular classes, but the office will be functional from Wednesday. Sibranjan Chatterji, the govt nominee and the veteran educationist in the governing body, said: "There were some complaints made against him that were not about molestation, and it was GB's decision, not the individual's." Closer Look: Yung Lean's '256 GB' Book

Earlier this week,Yung Leanrevealed the imminent release of his first book. Entitled256 GB, the book compiles, you guessed it, 256 gigabytes of content from Lean's iPhone hard drive from 2014 through 2024 – selfies, screenshots, notes, and other candid images included. Totalling 574 images (and 594 pages from front to back), the book is divided into nine color-coded chapters, with each spanning about 50 or so pages: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, black, and white. Housed in a black bound casing complete with red embossed lettering and a matching silk ribbon, the book opens with a title page, on which Lean lists the different iPhone models he shot the contents of 256 GB on: 6, 8, X, and SE. The next page lists out the chapters in order, followed by an entire table of contents of each image included in the book; titles include 'F*ck You,' 'Holy Trinity,' 'Air Jordan 12' and 'Boy life in EU.' To close out, Lean leaves a note that reads: 'I buy a lot of phones and lose a lot of phones. I spend more time in hotels than in the places I live in. It feels like collecting these photographs and memories. I hope it will be a bigger photograph of my life and maybe bring some inspiration and love to some. This is what I try to do.' Take an exclusive closer look at some of the pages of 256 GB in the gallery above and get your hands on a copy while they're still available at Lean'sworldaffairswebsite.
