New Report Says Xbox's ‘Fable' May Not Release Until 2027

Fable It's fairly easy to see which AAA games are going to miss their originally stated release date or window, as that's…almost all of them. For instance, Rockstar swearing that GTA 6 would be out this fall, I never once believed that. Sure enough, we're gearing up to play GTA 6 in late spring in 2026 now. This also happened with Fable, allegedly a 2025 release, but back in February, it was delayed to an unspecified time in 2026. Now, it turns out it may be even longer than that. The news comes from reputable Xbox insider Shpeshal Nick, who said on the Xbox Era podcast that two sources have told him that Fable may not arrive until 2027. Not that anything is going especially wrong, just that it's just taking longer than they thought. You can join this with the statement from Head of Xbox Game Studios Craig Duncan back when the original delay was announced, if you want a look at the delay headspace, which may happen twice: 'So, I just want to start with really excited, really excited about progress, really excited where Playground are,' said Duncan. 'We previously announced the date for Fable as 2025, we are actually going to give Fable more time and it's going to ship in 2026 now. While I know that's not maybe the news people want to hear, what I want to assure people of is that it's definitely worth the wait. And I just, I have unequivocal confidence in the Playground team.' For a long while, Microsoft returning to classic IPs, Fable and Perfect Dark, felt like its two biggest pending games. But in the wake of a slew of layoffs and cancellations, Perfect Dark was axed and its entire studio, The Initiative, was shut down. Could that happen to Fable? It seems far less likely. The Initiative was a brand-new studio while Playground is something of a crown jewel in the Xbox stable with their history working on the always-great Forza. Second, Perfect Dark was reportedly plagued with issues for a long time, while we haven't heard similar doom and gloom for Fable, even if it keeps getting delayed. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Still, this is a typical 'announce it a million years before it's ready' situation, as Fable was first revealed back in 2020 when the Xbox Series X and S also debuted. If we're talking 2027 now, well, you can do the math. Even if nothing is explicitly 'wrong,' it's still emblematic of where AAA development is now. The last we saw of Fable was a trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase in June of 2024, seen above, a two and a half minute spot that was a lot more than we'd seen previously. Judging by the amount of dislikes on all these trailers, the game already seems poised to be the product of some culture war nonsense given its focus on a female lead that is not deemed sufficiently attractive by some, but it's a created character game, and we'll see if we can perhaps escape all this drama by launch. This Sarpanch Is Going Viral On Instagram And Panchayat May Be The Reason

A sarpanch's reels are going massively viral on Instagram. Here's why. A sarpanch exhibiting the work he has done for the community has earned him millions of views on Instagram. Ravi Sarpanch, a low-key account on Instagram, regularly shares reels of the development he's brought to a village named Jhanda Khurd Village in Punjab's Sardulgarh. The reels follow a similar pattern, showing before vs after the job is done. From fixing roads to tidying up dirty streets to clearing trash to making a maidan look accessible, Ravi Sarpanch is doing his job right, and it shows in whatever content he has shared with his followers. Sarpanch Sarpanch or Pradhan is the elected head of a village, who runs the local-level governing body called the Gram Panchayat. He or she is tasked with governing the village. They oversee the development of the village, work in tandem with the administration, and ensure community welfare by hearing out and resolving the day-to-day issues that may arise. Panchayat Effect? TVF's blockbuster series Panchayat which recently premiered its fourth season on Amazon, has tugged at the heartstrings of Indian viewers who have found an escape from their chaotic lives and found peace in the quaint and fictional village of Phulera. The show stars Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, and Chandan Roy in the lead. Panchayat takes you on a journey of everyday issues – small and big – faced by the villagers and the path it takes to solve those problems. Broken roads, electricity cuts, non-allotment of houses under the government scheme, to name a few. Ravi, a sarpanch possibly inspired by the show, uses the Panchayat title track as the background score for all his reels, showcasing the development work he has done for his community in his village. Viral Reels From the looks of it, the Instagram account is run by the Sarpanch's son. Although only a handful of reels showing the village's development exist on the page, the videos have managed to generate millions of views. Will GTA 6 only run at 60 FPS on PS5 Pro? Don't ditch your Xbox X and Series S; here's what you need to know

Grand Theft Auto VI, a.k.a. GTA 6, may finally offer 60 frames per second (fps) gameplay, but only if you are planning to play it on your PlayStation 5 Pro, new leaks suggest. According to recent reports, Sony is reportedly working closely to boost the performance of the upcoming advanced console. However, the first trailers of the game showed that it is working at 30 FPS on the PS5. Rockstar and Sony team up to optimise GTA 6 for PS5 Pro A popular X (formerly called Twitter) user under the name Detective Seeds, popular for his leaks, claims that a PlayStation engineer has confirmed a behind-the-scenes collaboration between Sony and Rockstar Games. Why is Rockstar Games teaming up with Sony? According to GizBot, the main goal of Rockstar Games is to get GTA 6 running at 60 FPS on PS5 Pro, no matter which graphical setting the players choose to play with. Not only this, but unlike many titles that offer a choice between 'performance' and 'quality' modes, GTA 6 on PS5 Pro is believed to feature multiple graphical presets, but all these will target the 60 FPS mode, the leak further suggested. GTA6 has been, and continues to hit 60fps while being optimized for the PS5 Pro on multiple graphical settings. PS engineers are assisting with the optimization due to the new tech being implemented and rolled out with a current target date of May 2026. They are also assisting… Does this mean GTA 6 will not work properly on Xbox Series X and S or PS5? According to Times Now, previously the GTA franchise had been launched on PS5 with a capped frame rate of 30 FPS. Later it was speculated that the upcoming GTA title will also be released at the same frame rate for the older consoles. Now, it's not like PS5 cannot support 60 FPS games, and there are other popular titles like Astro Bot, Persona 5 Royal, Diablo 4, and more. Hence, it doesn't mean that there is no possibility of GTA 6 running on PS5 at 60 FPS. Heating issues and more highlighted One of the biggest challenges that players may face on PS5 will be the heating issues, like what has happened in the past with Death Stranding 2 and more. The report further claims that heavy games like GTA 6 have a very low chance of getting a 60 FPS frame rate on PS5. For the latest Xbox consoles, the case is almost identical. GTA 6 targets 60FPS on PS5 Pro with PlayStation engineers assisting

GTA 6 is reportedly running at 60FPS on the PS5 Pro according to new information shared by YouTuber DetectiveSeeds, who cites a PlayStation engineer with a record of verified details. The engineer is reported to be working with Rockstar Games on optimising GTA 6 for the PS5 Pro, with multiple graphical settings being tested and a target release window of May 2026. 'GTA 6 has been, and continues to hit 60fps while being optimised for the PS5 Pro on multiple graphical settings,' the source states. The report also notes, 'PS engineers are assisting with the optimisation due to the new tech being implemented and rolled out with a current target date of May 2026.' At this stage, 60FPS is confirmed only for the PS5 Pro, with no confirmation regarding framerates on the base PS5 or Xbox Series X/S. Fans have speculated that the collaboration between Rockstar Games and PlayStation may lead to GTA 6 PS5 Pro console bundles at launch, similar to previous marketing approaches with major titles. The leaker notes that PlayStation engineers are also supporting optimisation on other Rockstar projects expected in the near future. While fans are anticipating these developments, they are advised to wait for official confirmation from Rockstar Games closer to launch. GTA 6 is expected to be a significant release for Sony, with fans describing its potential for 60FPS on PS5 Pro as a key selling point.

GTA 6 at 60fps? Leaks suggests the PS5 Pro will offer the definitive way to play Rockstar's next-gen epic

Grand Theft Auto 6, a.k.a. GTA 6, hype is never-ending. Amid other news, leaks, and rumours, there's a fresh wave of buzz around the game, and this time, it's not the characters or the gameplay; it is how smoothly the game might run on Sony's upcoming PS5 Pro. According to a popular X (formerly called Twitter) user, Detective Seeds, Rockstar is reportedly working closely with PlayStation engineers to optimise GTA 6 for the PS5 Pro. The game is already running at a stable 60 frames per second (fps) across multiple graphics setups. Rockstar and PlayStation team up to showcase GTA 6 on Sony hardware The claims don't stop there. As per Seeds, who is also known for his leaks and predictions, the collaboration is actually a part of a broader marketing partnership between Rockstar and PlayStation. The deal is apparently what's making such deep technical cooperation possible, aiming to highlight GTA 6's complete potential on Sony's hardware. Seeds wrote, 'As of right now, 60 fps is being achieved on the PS5 Pro only.' It is predicted that GTA 6 will have multiple graphical options on the PS5 Pro on release. GTA6 has been, and continues to hit 60fps while being optimized for the PS5 Pro on multiple graphical settings. PS engineers are assisting with the optimization due to the new tech being implemented and rolled out with a current target date of May 2026. They are also assisting… PS5 Pro + GTA 6 bundle promotions Apart from the collaboration, the X user also hinted at an upcoming PS5 Pro + GTA 6 bundle promotion that is expected to be a part of Sony's next big marketing game. However, none of this is confirmed officially by either Rockstar or Sony yet. But Sony and Rockstar have always had a pretty solid working relationship. Interestingly, the rumoured technical assistance from PlayStation may go beyond GTA 6. According to Seeds, Sony engineers are also reportedly involved in other titles of Rockstar Games, potentially working on a next-gen upgrade for Red Dead Redemption 2 and a GTA 4 port. Both projects might be released ahead of a major PS5 Pro update expected in May 2026.
