Traffic diversion on Karak Highway for ECRL construction

KUALA LUMPUR: A temporary traffic diversion on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK) from KM25.75 to KM26.4 towards Kuantan has been implemented to facilitate construction work for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project. The diversion converts the existing three-lane route into a one-way flow towards Kuala Lumpur while maintaining total lane capacity. Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) director-general Datuk Sazali Harun stated that continuous monitoring by LLM, AFA PRIME Berhad, and Malaysia Rail Link (MRL) confirmed orderly traffic conditions as of July 14, 2025. 'The traffic situation at the location was orderly, under control and smooth moving,' he said. The Traffic Management Plan (TMP) design underwent a Road Safety Audit (RSA) Level 4 Part 1 review. RSA Level 4 Part 2 will be conducted on July 30 to assess compliance and propose improvements. Motorists are advised to follow safety signage and plan trips ahead to avoid congestion. - Bernama

Temporary traffic diversion activated on KL-Karak Expressway

IPOH: A temporary traffic diversion is in place along KM25.75 to KM26.4 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway heading towards Kuantan to facilitate construction for the East Coast Rail Link project. Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) Director-General Datuk Sazali Harun said the diversion redirects the existing three-lane carriageway to a one-way lane on the opposite side towards Kuala Lumpur. This maintains a three-lane capacity to ensure smooth traffic flow during the diversion. "The Traffic Management Plan design has been reviewed and approved by a road safety auditor through the Stage 4 Part 1 Road Safety Audit. "The next audit, RSA Stage 4 Part 2, will be carried out on Wednesday (July 30) to assess compliance during implementation and to propose improvements based on construction progress," he said in a statement on Thursday (July 17). He added that LLM, together with concessionaire AFA PRIME Bhd and Malaysia Rail Link, has been conducting continuous monitoring since the diversion's activation. "The latest monitoring carried out on Monday (July 14) showed that traffic at the location remained orderly, controlled and smooth." He advised road users to adhere to safety signage at the site and to plan their journeys in advance to avoid congestion.

Netskope One DSPM now available via AI Agents on AWS Marketplace

Netskope has announced the availability of its One Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) solution within the new AI Agents and Tools category on AWS Marketplace. The inclusion of Netskope One DSPM allows AWS customers to access, purchase and deploy data security solutions designed for AI-native and cloud environments directly through their AWS accounts. This addition comes as enterprises continue to seek effective and efficient ways to integrate security into the proliferation of AI and agentic workflows. Netskope One DSPM is tailored to help organisations automatically discover and classify data, supervise access governance, and monitor risky data usage from a unified management console. The solution aims to safeguard sensitive information used in AI models, large language model (LLM) pipelines, and other agentic applications while maintaining workflow speed and efficiency. "Discovering all your sensitive data and who has access to it, is critical to having an effective AI strategy, and an AI strategy begins with a data strategy," said Andy Horwitz, SVP Global Partner Ecosystems at Netskope. "Our customers are already using these capabilities to manage risk, reduce their attack surface, and automate data security management and compliance, demonstrating the real-world value of the Netskope One platform as part of a unified data security strategy. By listing Netskope One DSPM in AWS Marketplace, we're making it easier for customers to adopt agent-based security workflows at scale and help them buy and deploy solutions faster and more efficiently." The platform's DSPM features include a unified dashboard, contextual data analysis, and automated classification and tagging, offering continuous and real-time visibility across data environments. By integrating with tools such as Netskope One DLP, the platform is positioned to offer comprehensive data security management for AI, cloud, web, and private applications. Organisations utilising AWS Marketplace's new AI Agents and Tools category are expected to benefit from streamlined procurement processes. This enables them to drive AI initiatives with reduced timelines required for vendor assessment and contract agreements. With purchasing managed through AWS, customers retain oversight of licensing, payments, and solution access within their existing cloud accounts. The single-console approach to policy administration and management allows enterprises to unify their data security operations, reducing administrative overhead and potential for error. Automated tools help ensure data classification and risk monitoring processes are consistent, regardless of where the information resides. The DSPM platform supports organisations dealing with regulatory requirements by supporting automated data discovery and compliance checks. Enterprises leveraging agent-based workflows have the opportunity to enhance their security posture while focusing on research and development of new AI tools and services. Security and networking teams can benefit from integration with the broader Netskope One portfolio. This includes leveraging a shared set of policies across applications, which can be particularly relevant for companies handling sensitive data and involved in the rapid development of AI applications. The launch reflects a trend in technology markets to centralise procurement and deployment of security tools for AI and cloud environments, especially as regulatory frameworks adapt to new threats facing enterprises adopting AI-driven processes. Netskope's move aligns with increasing demand for manageable, policy-driven tools as part of strategic data governance and compliance roadmaps. Customers can now access Netskope One DSPM and other eligible solutions through the AI Agents and Tools category within AWS Marketplace, leveraging their AWS accounts for procurement and deployment. Xbox exec suffers bout of terminal LinkedIn brain, suggests folks laid off by Microsoft use AI to 'reduce the emotional and cognitive load that comes with job loss'

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes—every so often, in times of deep economic equality, someone with a thick paycheck or accumulated wealth will waltz up and say something so mind-bogglingly disconnected from good sense and empathy that it becomes enshrined as an example of what not to say. The latest entrant to the "Let them eat cake" hall of fame comes courtesy of Matt Turnbull, Executive Producer at Xbox Games Studio Publishing who, in a since-deleted LinkedIn post (shared here by Necrosoft's Brandon Sheffield), suggested that anyone facing anxiety about their livelihoods crumbling under them use AI to help. He writes: "These are really challenging times, and if you're navigating a layoff or just preparing for one"—like the layoffs your company literally just pushed forward, Turnbull?—"You're not alone and you don't have to go it alone." In a textbook use of passive voice, he then goes on to suggest people "use LLM AI tools (like ChatGPT or Copilot) to help reduce the emotional and cognitive load that comes with job loss", talking about layoffs as though it's an inevitable medical condition. He follows this up with a series of 'helpful' prompts for folks struggling after being laid off in random, often capricious ways. These include everything from asking a LLM to rewrite your resume, to networking and outreach, to emotional support. Turnbull suggests anyone feeling down in the dumps prompt a language model with the following: "I'm struggling with impostor syndrome after being laid off. Can you help me reframe this experience in a way that reminds me what I'm good at?" Yikes. Here is where I'd usually point out that telling the recently-jobless they're "not alone", then encouraging them to use an unthinking, unfeeling machine to output general positive platitudes is incredibly ghoulish. Unfortunately, I've hit my monthly limit for nonsense four days into July, so I'm going to go scream into a pillow for a couple of minutes. Phew, all better. Alright, let's attempt a charitable read. It's entirely possible that Turnbull's had his head in the sand, does genuinely feel for those facing job insecurity, and simply got it wrong. He at least had enough self-awareness to delete his post. Points for basic self-improvement. On the other hand, given Microsoft's been pushing AI like it's the second coming of techno-Christ, and that the industry at-large has been struggling with haphazardly-applied AI tech booting people out of their positions and work to make the line go up (ever up, the line must never stop going), Turnbull might've self-reflected a little harder before he posted this rot. Anyway, given how quickly the pipeline goes from proselytizing about AI to finding out AI can't actually do the thing that's promised (around 4 months, for Netflix's former VP for GenAI games), I can't wait for this new, dark dimension of LinkedIn culture to peter out. If Turnbull's sudden 180 is any indication, we won't be waiting long. Probably. Hopefully. Key Highlights NetGain Systems has launched Astra AI, the first Large Language Model (LLM) purpose-built for IT observability, delivering automation, anomaly detection, and predictive insights across complex digital infrastructure. Astra AI is starting with 500TB of domain-specific data from more than 20 years of enterprise IT environments New LLM addresses a fast-growing USD $4.1B observability market by helping enterprises detect and resolve infrastructure issues proactively Astra AI supports CIOs with intelligent, real-time insights while aligning with Singapore's Smart Nation and AI goals launched in November 2024. Inspired by the Southeast Asia-focused LLM initiative, NetGain shares its vision and is actively looking to contribute to advancing sovereign AI through enterprise-grade innovation. SINGAPORE, July 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- NetGain Systems, a leading Singapore-based innovator in IT observability, has announced the release of Astra AI, the first-ever Large Language Model (LLM) specifically trained to enhance IT asset visibility and proactive infrastructure management. Built on more than 20 years of operational expertise, Astra AI delivers a new level of automation, context awareness, and performance insight for enterprise IT teams. Unlike general-purpose LLMs, Astra AI is engineered specifically for IT environments. It applies deep contextual learning to help operations teams detect anomalies, trace dependencies, and optimise system performance. Based on the LLama 4 architecture and fine-tuned in-house by NetGain Systems, Astra AI supports predictive analytics, real-time issue triage, and intelligent forecasting. According to MarketsandMarkets, the global observability tools market is expected to grow from USD $2.4 billion in 2023 to USD $4.1 billion by 2028, reflecting the increasing importance of intelligent monitoring. In Southeast Asia, digital transformation is accelerating. Business outages in the region cost an average of USD $2.5 million per hour – well above the global norm – highlighting the urgent need for proactive, AI-enabled observability tools. "Astra AI goes beyond conventional AI tools. It is a purpose-built system engineered to understand IT infrastructure with the depth and precision of a seasoned systems architect," said Toh Soon Seah, CTO and Founder of NetGain Systems. "It can trace dependencies, recognise system behaviours, anticipate failures, and provide actionable recommendations while ensuring that all client data remains private and secure." Astra AI processes structured and unstructured data including logs, metrics, configurations, and traces. It generates natural language responses tailored to enterprise-scale queries. Rather than relying on fixed alert thresholds, Astra AI continuously analyses environmental context to detect early signs of infrastructure stress or failure. Organisations can deploy Astra AI on premise for high-security requirements or in the cloud for scalability. The system is designed for speed and efficiency, delivering most analytical responses within 1–3 seconds. Even complex summaries across large datasets complete within minutes, maintaining usability across a wide range of enterprise applications. "Astra AI has significantly enhanced our operational capabilities," said Leo Tan, CTO of Trident Digital Tech Holdings. "This is what domain-specialised AI looks like in practice. It understands IT telemetry and infrastructure with the depth and intuition of a seasoned engineer. Astra AI's real-time analytics and insights enable more effective monitoring and management of our digital services." Astra AI is launched at a time when enterprises face the challenge of managing distributed, hybrid, and fragmented IT systems. This fragmentation complicates visibility, introduces new vulnerabilities, and makes root cause analysis increasingly difficult. As IT ecosystems continue to scale across on-premise, private cloud, and multi-cloud environments, IT operations teams are often overwhelmed by siloed alerts, inconsistent data formats, and a growing skills gap. They are in a reactive position that limits their ability to drive their businesses forward. Astra AI's deep contextual understanding helps bridge these silos by providing unified intelligence that correlates signals across the full IT stack. It empowers teams to move beyond reactive monitoring, shifting toward proactive management and continuous optimisation. By embedding this intelligence into everyday IT operations, Astra AI prevents downtime while strengthening overall system resilience and agility. Traditional monitoring tools lack the flexibility and intelligence to adapt to these dynamic environments. Astra AI's contextual learning engine fills this gap by delivering operational clarity and proactive risk mitigation, preventing disruption to businesses. NetGain Systems's product and technology development strategy aligns with Singapore's Smart Nation and AI goals. Astra AI was inspired by the government's Southeast Asia-focused LLM initiative and shares its vision to build sovereign, locally relevant AI that advances enterprise resilience. "This launch reinforces Singapore's potential to lead in applied AI for enterprise infrastructure," said Toh. "We built Astra AI to be the foundation for the next generation of AI-driven operations. It was designed here, for this region and globally, to meet the performance, security, and compliance needs of enterprises." NetGain Systems is actively engaging CIOs, technology executives, and managed service providers to participate in early-access pilots of Astra AI.
