Ozzy Osbourne's final days in beloved Birmingham before death at 76
Ozzy Osbourne died today aged 76, with his wife Sharon and children by his side, just days after he performed his final gig in Birmingham with Black Sabbath. Music icon Ozzy Osbourne spent his final days in his cherished hometown of Birmingham before his tragic passing at the age of 76. The Black Sabbath frontman passed away today, with his wife Sharon, aged 72, and their children Kelly and Jack by his side after a valiant struggle with Parkinson's disease. Ozzy faced numerous health challenges over the years, but his life took a dramatic turn when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2020. In the days leading up to his death, Ozzy realised his ambition to perform once again with his Black Sabbath bandmates, as they electrified Villa Park in Birmingham with their Back To The Beginning concert. Despite his failing health, Ozzy was resolute in his desire to take to the stage one last time, reports the Mirror. Speaking to Sirius XM in May, he shared: "I am in heavy training because I haven't done any physical work for the last seven years." He told the crowd: "By hook or by crook. I've got to make it there. I have got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal. It's hard going, but he's convinced that he can pull it off for me. I'm giving it everything I've got." During the Back To The Beginning gig, an emotional Ozzy addressed the audience, saying: "I don't know what to say, man, I've been laid up for like six years. "You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart." He expressed to the crowd in what has now become his final address. When questioned about his farewell performance, the legendary musician remarked: "It's a goodbye as far as my live performances go, and what a way to go out." Ozzy had never hidden his longing to return to the UK after living in America for several decades. However, numerous health issues hindered him and his wife, Sharon, from realising this dream. They were expected to settle in their Buckinghamshire home. In August 2022, after spending two decades in Los Angeles, he commented: "Everything's f***ing ridiculous (in America)" Now, it has been revealed that he achieved his final wish. A statement confirming his death listed the location as "Birmingham, England," indicating that he made it home one last time. Sources close to the family reveal that Ozzy's passing was 'unexpected to be this soon' but his children were immensely grateful to have spent time with him during his final days, following his last performance just over a fortnight ago. His daughters Aimee, 41, and Kelly, 40, were present to look after him as recently as last week, having flown in from Los Angeles, according to the Daily Mail. A close pal revealed to the publication: "Ozzy was always meant to come back to Britain to live in Buckinghamshire, it was where Sharon had spent so long preparing their family home for him." "There was much hope that he would be around for a lot longer than this but at one point there were fears they would not get him back from Los Angeles for the concert earlier this month. "He told the crowd as he addressed them for what is now the final time. Kelly has been at the house a lot in the last week or so, so has Aimee. It is terribly sad for all of them, they really hoped he would be able to carry on for a bit longer. But it's so lovely that he had his children around him during his last days." Just a fortnight prior to his passing, Ozzy also witnessed and celebrated his daughter Kelly's engagement. On Saturday July 5, Ozzy officially brought down the curtain on his Prince of Darkness era as he graced the stage one last time. The metal legend reunited with his Black Sabbath colleagues at Villa Park, Birmingham for what ranks among the most spectacular farewell performances in musical history. Following the magnificent gig, the Osbourne clan received a wonderful shock when Kelly's long-term beau Sid got down on one knee before her mum and dad Ozzy and Sharon. Sharing the delightful announcement on Instagram the following day, Kelly, 40, uploaded the heartwarming footage of Sid's proposal as he pledged to spend his remaining years with the former reality television personality. Alongside the footage, Kelly penned: "Oh, and this happened yesterday." In the touching video, Sharon could be heard instructing: "We've got to be quiet, hold on," while she signalled for silence from the crew backstage at the show. Then, Kelly's now fiancé was overheard declaring: "Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world. "Yet, Sid's heartfelt proposal was humorously disrupted by a jesting Ozzy who exclaimed: "F*** off! You're not marrying my daughter." Taking Ozzy's quip in stride, Sid chuckled and proceeded with his romantic gesture. He went on to say: "Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life with you. So, in front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?" A stunned Kelly then spun around, her face registering surprise before she covered it with her hands and nodded in agreement. The clip then captured Sid presenting the sparkling engagement ring to Ozzy, followed by one of Kelly's mates shouting 'about time', teasing Sid for not popping the question earlier. Kelly and Sid then embraced warmly, sealing the moment with a kiss as their friends and family celebrated in the background. Both Kelly and her brother Jack had ensured they were present for their father's monumental final performance, showering him with affection and accolades as he took to the stage one last time. Since his passing, an outpouring of tributes has come from stars such as Rod Stewart, David Beckham, and Elton John.

Ozzy Osbourne's final wish before death fulfilled by Sharon in moving moment
Ozzy Osbourne has passed away at the age of 76, surrounded by his close family including wife Sharon, just weeks after he performed on stage for the final time with Black Sabbath Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne's death was announced today with a brief but heartfelt statement released by his devastated family. It disclosed that the Black Sabbath icon's relatives, including his devoted wife of more than 40 years Sharon, had assembled around him in Birmingham for one last time as he tragically passed away. It came just weeks after the frontman took to the stage for the final time during his Back to the Beginning performance at Aston Villa's ground, Villa Park. The family statement said: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love." "We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis." The family statement was accompanied by a location marker, declaring: "Birmingham, England July 22, 2025" - revealing that Ozzy managed to return home one final time, the Mirror reports. Ozzy and Sharon had discussed wanting to move back to the UK from Los Angeles before the rocker's declining health. Ozzy declared he was "desperate to come home". Whilst they had hoped to move previously, continuing health problems for Ozzy had postponed the relocation. Despite the setbacks, the pair were anticipated to settle back into their Buckinghamshire residence. Ozzy had expressed his wish to return to England way back in August 2022 following more than two decades in Los Angeles as he stated: "everything's f***ing ridiculous (in America)." He also pointed to gun violence in the country as another factor behind his wish to relocate. "Everything's f***ing ridiculous [in America]. I'm fed up with people getting killed every day," he previously told The Observer. 'God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert. … it's f***ing crazy.' However, the relocation was postponed for years due to Ozzy's deteriorating health. Chatting to Planet Rock's Loz Guest about Black Sabbath's star-studded Back to the Beginning gig on 5th July, Sharon confirmed that the performance had provided Ozzy with the opportunity to return home. She said: "He's coming over in March. His brothers (in Black Sabbath), he's excited to be here with them." When asked if they're still planning a permanent move back to the UK, Sharon responded: "Yeah, we are." The Back to the Beginning gig was described as Ozzy's "final performance" before his retirement. He started the performance by saying: 'Let me hear you. Are you ready? Let the madness begin!' The legendary rocker spent the performance on a black throne, as his band mates - Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward - performed around him. Ozzy told the crowd: 'It's so good to be on this f****** stage. You have no idea. I f****** love you all. Let me see your hands in the air. You are the best, each and every one of you. God bless you all.' In an emotional moment, Ozzy said: "I don't know what to say, man, I've been laid up for like six years. You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart. You're all f****** special. Let's go crazy, come on."

Ozzy Osbourne's decades long health battles before tragic death at 76
Ozzy had been grappling with serious health problems for over two decades, starting after a near-fatal bike crash in 2003. Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76. The Black Sabbath frontman – known across the globe as the Prince of Darkness – passed away surrounded by his family after a long battle with ill-health. The Brummie rocker, who shot to fame with heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath before enjoying a hugely successful solo career, had been battling Parkinson's disease in the years leading up to his death. His condition had worsened over time, leading him to finally bow out of live performance earlier this month with one final show in his home city. Despite serious health setbacks, Ozzy was determined to give fans one last performance and had undergone an intense training and rehab programme in the run-up to his farewell show, Back To The Beginning, which took place at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5. Speaking ahead of the concert, his wife Sharon said: 'Ozzy's working with his therapist every single day. He's doing really well, actually. Ozzy's number one thing in life is his fans, so he's working hard to be ready for them, to make this show the perfect way to end things.' Ozzy hadn't performed a full live set in nearly seven years and had to be helped onto stage, where he performed from a black throne due to mobility issues. But the show was packed with emotion and served as a fitting farewell to one of the most iconic figures in music history, reports the Mirror. In a statement ahead of the show, Ozzy said: 'I couldn't have done my final show anywhere else. I had to go back to the beginning.' Ozzy had been grappling with serious health problems for over two decades. His troubles began in 2003 after a near-fatal quad bike crash left him with a broken collarbone, fractured ribs, and a neck injury that required metal rods to be inserted into his spine. He received care from NHS staff following the accident and remained a vocal supporter of the health service ever since. In 2019, he was admitted to hospital again after developing complications from the flu. Sharon told fans at the time: 'As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu. His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love.' That same year, he suffered a fall at his Los Angeles home, which further worsened his spine injury and led to several postponed tour dates – including a planned UK and European leg of his No More Tours 2 tour. Although he vowed not to retire, telling Rolling Stone in October 2018 that he simply wanted to 'slow my lifestyle down to a more comfortable way of living,' it became clear his days of full touring were over. In 2020, Ozzy publicly revealed he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's, a progressive condition that affects movement and causes tremors. Speaking on Good Morning America, he said: 'I had to have surgery on my neck which screwed all my nerves. I found out that I have a mild form of…' before Sharon added: 'It's Parkin two, which is a form of Parkinson's. There are so many different types of Parkinson's. It's not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination but it does affect the nerves in your body. It's like you'll have a good day, then a good day, and then a really bad day.' Despite the serious nature of the disease, Sharon later said her husband's voice had remained strong. Speaking to The Sun, she said: 'He's very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this. Parkinson's is a progressive disease. It's not something you can stabilise. It affects different parts of the body, and it's affected his legs. But his voice is as good as it's ever been.' Ozzy's final appearance on stage earlier this month was a proud moment for both the singer and his legions of fans. After years of battling pain and undergoing countless surgeries, including major neck and back operations, the show was the culmination of sheer determination and a lifelong love for music. Osbourne had even moved a specialist rehab therapist into his Los Angeles home to help him prepare, hoping to regain enough balance to walk freely and stand for parts of the show. Paying tribute to his fans ahead of the concert, Ozzy said: 'I want to say thank you to my fans for always supporting me and being there for me.'
