Ozzy Osbourne has a rocking family legacy. The late English musician first rose to fame in 1968 as the lead singer of the iconic heavy metal band Black Sabbath. During that time, Ozzy garnered the nickname 'Prince of Darkness.' In 1970, the rocker was introduced to his wife, Sharon Osbourne, 72, through her father, Don Arden, who worked for Black Sabbath. 23 Ozzy Osbourne poses with his family after he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2002. He was married to Thema when he and Sharon struck up a romance. After being married for 43 years, Ozzy died at age 76 on July 22, 2025. He died 'surrounded by love,' his family said in a statement to The Post on Tuesday. 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.' Advertisement Ozzy and Sharon shared three adult children, Aimee, Kelly and Jack, and five grandkids. Ozzy is also dad to two children from his first marriage. Additionally, he helped raise Thelma's son Elliot Kingsley from a previous relationship. In 2002, the family participated in MTV's reality show 'The Osbournes.' The series ran for four seasons and followed the lives of Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39. 23 Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne at The Weinstein Company's Academy Awards Nominees Dinner in LA on February 21, 2015. Redferns In 1979, the rock star was fired from Black Sabbath and began a solo career. After divorcing Thelma and marrying Sharon, Ozzy physically attacked his new wife while under the influence in 1989. He spoke about the incident in the documentary, stating: 'I felt the calmest I had ever felt in my life. I was just peaceful. It's not exactly one of my greatest achievements.' The two resolved their issues, and showed their family dynamic during the four seasons of 'The Osbournes.' 23 Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne and Jack The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 'Surprised is the f–king understatement of the millennium!' Ozzy told Hot Press in December 2002 of his reaction to the series being so well-received. In recent years, Ozzy has stepped away from the spotlight due to his battle with Parkinson's disease. He's also undergone multiple surgeries for injuries caused by a 2003 ATV accident. In July 2025, Ozzy played in Black Sabbath's final show just weeks before his death. Sharon Osbourne Advertisement After Ozzy left Black Sabbath in 1979, Sharon became his business manager. However, things soon turned romantic. Sharon repped other musical groups such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Motorhead and The Electric Light Orchestra. Sharon also became a media personality, carving her own path in television. 'So, it was a very erratic chidhood with dad.' Aimee Osbourne Ozzy and Sharon's eldest daughter lived with her family in California until they started shooting 'The Osbournes.' Once production began, she moved out. 'She felt too that she didn't want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea — it was appalling to her,' Sharon explained while on 'The Talk' in 2018. 'And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did.' The host added, 'It broke my heart when she moved.' 23 Kelly Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne and Aimee Osbourne. Earlier this month, Kelly got engaged to Sid, 48, while at her dad's final Black Sabbath show. She shared an Instagram video of the heartfelt moment, writing, 'Oh and this happened yesterday!' Jack Osbourne Sharon and Ozzy's youngest child has also forged a path in Hollywood. After a few scripted roles, including one in the '90s drama 'Dawson's Creek,' and a part in Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's 2004 comedy, 'New York Minute,' Jack turned back to reality television. 'I kind of look at the diagnosis as a huge silver lining to be honest with you,' he told Today in 2017 about living with MS. 'Before this, I would just be a typical 20-something-year-old and lounge around and just kind of kick it when I could. I don't do that anymore. I hate wasting days.' 'I'm always doing something and trying to accomplish something, whether it's work, something social or doing something active. So for that, I'm appreciative of it.' Attention, budding writers: Ian Rankin has bad news for you

Popular Edinburgh scribbler Ian Rankin declares: 'I'm writing a book. It doesn't get any easier with practice.' (Hmmm. So it's NOT like learning to juggle bean bags or riding a penny-farthing, muses the Diary…) Fire down below The Diary is a great supporter of Glasgow's night life, in much the same way as we have always fancied traipsing after that Virgil bloke for a jaunt through Dante's inferno. We recently reported that a chap was spotted outside Central Station, shorn of both dignity and trousers, as he lay in a drunken slump, cradled by the comforting bosom of the gutter. 'That's nothing,' says reader Diana Kerr. 'I was in the town centre one evening and spotted a young lady wearing an actual flak jacket, with the words PRESS emblazoned across the front.' Possibly a quirky fashion accessary, or perhaps a way of surviving a night of robust revelries, Diana admits she wasn't entirely sure. 'I've always suspected Glasgow city centre is a war zone,' she says, 'maybe this is confirming evidence…' Nicola Munro says: 'I assumed this door led to a maternity ward, though apparently not.' (Image: Contributed) Noises off And if you think the nightlife is bad, wait until we tell you about Glasgow's day life. It certainly ain't day-lightful, that's for sure. Dean Tasker was in a café on West Nile Street trying to enjoy a splash of coffee and a side-order of tranquillity. The coffee was on tap. Unfortunately the joint was all out of tranquillity, because some chap at another table was hunched over a muffin, chomping and schlomping and burping with every bite. This went on for an unendurable five minutes, until another patron of the café leaned over and hissed to the indecorous fellow: 'Eating a muffin's not like The Archers. It isn't a radio play, y'know.' Silence ensued… and tranquillity sashayed through the door. A singular notion Now that this column has got to grips with words such as "a", "the", and "hingmy", we're eager to expand our vocabulary up to the point where we can almost form whole sentences. David Donaldson is on a similar quest, and recently stumbled upon the word for people with a single name… mononymous. 'This being the case,' muses David, 'are people with exceptionally silly names moronymous?' Loopy lingo More language games. Mark Taylor says: 'Who ever came up with the spelling of receipt was an idiopt.' Tree-mendously indolent 'My mother-in-law called me lazy when she visited yesterday,' says reader Charles Penn. 'On the plus side, she took down the Christmas tree.'

Grenfell Uncovered Reviews: Netflix Documentary Hailed As 'Urgent' And 'Heartwrenching'

ASSOCIATED PRESS A new documentary exploring the Grenfell Tower disaster is being lauded by critics. In June 2017, a fire broke out at the tower block in North Kensington, London, killing at least 72 people. Eight years later, questions are still being asked about the tragedy – which are explored further in Netflix's new documentary Grenfell Uncovered. An official Netflix synopsis for the doc reads: 'This feature length documentary examines the disturbing chain of events that led to the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017. 'By uncovering actions taken by business and government years before the tragedy, the film shines a light on how it could have been prevented, and 72 lives could have been saved. The documentary gives a platform to survivors, bereaved families and firefighters to share their story.' The documentary has already been praised as 'agonising', 'rage-inducing' and 'heartwrenching' by critics in their early reviews. Here's a selection of what has been said about it so far… The Guardian (5/5) 'The 2017 Grenfell Tower fire in London which caused 72 deaths is now the subject of Olaide Sadiq's heartwrenching and enraging documentary, digging at the causes and movingly interviewing survivors and their families, whose testimony is all but unbearable. At the very least, the film will remind you that when politicians smugly announce they wish to make a bonfire of regulations, they should be taken, under police escort if necessary, and made to stand at the foot of the tower.' The Telegraph (5/5) 'Vital journalism [...] the documentary's trump card is its editing. That sounds very boring, but for the viewer it means a linear narrative, starting from the first 999 call, that then spread its tentacles down timelines of personal stories and historic corporate malfeasance. The dexterous splicing means that in spite of all this context, the film retains an agonising momentum.' The Standard (4/5) 'This litany of failures is rage-inducing [...] the information is technically already out there, but it's never really been condensed into something this concise and easily understandable before – certainly not on a massive streaming channel like Netflix, which will put it in front of millions of viewers.' The Independent (4/5) '[Netflix has] plenty of schlocky miniseries about serial killers, but when it comes to institutional failings and social affairs, they are more sensitive [...] this dynamic – the film is more interested in apportioning blame than it is in memorialising the victims – makes it feel raw, angry and urgent.' Financial Times (4/5) 'The film is upsetting and harrowing throughout, but it is driven by a clear sense of a need for justice, and an acknowledgment of the lack of justice to date. Though Mr Bates vs The Post Office was a drama, and this is a documentary, Grenfell: Uncovered may well have a similar effect on the public's understanding of what happened in 2017.'

ICE takes custody of Spanish-language journalist arrested at Georgia protest

U.S. immigration authorities said Wednesday they have detained a Spanish-language journalist, who will face deportation proceedings following his arrest on charges of obstructing police and unlawful assembly while covering a weekend protest outside Atlanta. Mario Guevara was turned over by police to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody three days after he was jailed in DeKalb County, agency spokesman Lindsay Williams said in an emailed statement. His case now goes to immigration court to determine whether Guevara, a native of El Salvador, can remain in the U.S. His attorney, Giovanni Diaz, has said that Guevara was doing his job and committed no crime when police arrested him. He also says Guevara has legal authorization to live and work in the U.S., and has a pending application for permanent residency. Diaz did not immediately return phone and email messages Wednesday. Guevara fled El Salvador two decades ago and built a large following as an independent journalist covering immigration in the Atlanta area. He was livestreaming video on social media Saturday from a DeKalb County rally protesting President Donald Trump's administration when local police arrested him. 'I'm a member of the media, officer,' Guevara tells a police officer right before he's arrested. The video shows Guevara wearing a bright red shirt under a protective vest with 'PRESS' printed across his chest. DeKalb County officials have said at least eight people were arrested during the Saturday demonstration, with police using tear gas to turn away protesters marching toward an interstate onramp. Guevara's video shows him standing on a sidewalk with other journalists, with no sign of big crowds or confrontations around him, right before he's arrested. Jail records show Guevara was charged with obstructing police, unlawful assembly and improperly entering a roadway. The Committee to Protect Journalists condemned Guevara's arrest and detention by ICE. 'His ongoing detention signals a frightening erosion of press freedom in the U.S.,' Katherine Jacobsen, the group's U.S. program coordinator, said in a statement. ICE's statement did not say why Guevara was being detained or where he would be held. Williams did not immediately respond to an email message asking those questions. Guevara fled El Salvador with his family in 2004, saying he was beaten and repeatedly harassed because of his work as a political reporter for the newspaper La Prensa Grafica. They immigrated to Georgia, where Guevara worked as a reporter for Georgia's largest Spanish-language newspaper, Mundo Hispanico, before launching his own online news site, MGNews. An immigration judge in 2012 denied Guevara's application for asylum and ordered him and his family to leave the country. However, ICE worked with Guevara's lawyer to close his case without deporting anyone. Diaz said it was resolved with Guevara receiving authorization to continue working in the U.S. Diaz has said Guevara has a strong case to remain in the U.S., though the Trump administration's aggressive immigration crackdown has left the journalist's family worried.
