Suspicious person reported on Kitchener trail

Photo of a man Waterloo Regional Police are trying to identify. (Provided) Waterloo Regional Police have released the photo of a person who reportedly followed a girl in Kitchener. On Sunday, at around 5:50 p.m., she was walking along the Iron Horse Trail when a stranger approached. Police said the male made several attempts to interact with the girl and then followed her into Victoria Park, where she sought help from a parkgoer. Police are hoping someone can identify the male in the image. He's described as Black, approximately 6'0' tall with curly hair, and was wearing a red and black plaid shirt, beige cargo pants and black running shoes with white soles. Anyone with information is asked to contact the WRPS' Special Victims Unit at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office is warning the community more child victims of sexual abuse may be out there after a man was booked on sex crimes charges. James Cortez Moss was booked Tuesday, the sheriff's office said. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] He's been charged with aggravated sodomy - commit sodomy with force of a child under 10, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery and two counts of rape and incest, officials said. The charges are related to sex crimes Moss allegedly committed in November 2022 and April of this year. Lee County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit is continuing its investigation. Female assaulted by male youth while walking on trail near Elmira: police

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is investigating a report of a sexual assault in Woolwich Township. On Thursday at around 5 p.m., police received a report of a sexual assault on the walking trail at the Woolwich Reservoir off of Reid Woods Drive, just northwest of Elmira. 'The adult female victim was walking on the trail when she was approached and assaulted by a male youth,' police said in a media release. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a White male, approximately 5′4″, with brown, short hair, wearing a long-sleeved blue, green and white plaid shirt, jeans and clog-style shoes. He was riding a dark-coloured bicycle at the time of the incident, police say. The investigation is ongoing by WRPS' Special Victims Unit.

She was wearing gray jogging pants at the time, and police say she may need medical attention. Bell's family and friends gathered Friday to search for her. They say she lives with depression and has previously experienced suicidal thoughts. They also said she frequently visits Chicago's lakefront and often takes long rides on the CTA Red Line. She is described as a Black woman, standing 5-foot-3 and weighing 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
