Jake Paul insists he will fight Anthony Joshua as Tyson Fury makes prediction
Jake Paul insists he will fight Anthony Joshua and hopes to do so at Wembley, where he says he will beat the former heavyweight champion. The social media star has built a professional boxing record of 12-1, with his only defeat coming by split decision to Tommy Fury in 2023. His victories have come against a mix of MMA fighters, boxers long past their best and journeyman professionals. However, he wants to step up to the elite level and take on Joshua (28-4) at heavyweight and is adamant that he will get his wish. 'It's gunna happen,' Paul told talkSPORT. 'I want it to happen here [Wembley], all the odds stacked against me. 'I believe that I will beat him, shock the world and create one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.' He also told DAZN: 'We're going to do the unthinkable and create one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing. 'It's not even about it being realistic or not, it's going to happen. Fasten your seatbelts or whatever and when I knock him out I go down in the history books forever.' Paul was in attendance for the Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois bout at Wembley for the unified heavyweight title on Saturday night. Tyson Fury is coming off back-to-back defeats to Usyk and he has weighed in on a possible Paul vs Joshua bout, claiming to be extremely confident in the man who would be a huge underdog. 'I think Jake Paul knocks the motherf***er out! Why not?' Fury said. 'Seriously, I think Jake Paul chins AJ if they fight. 100 per cent. If they fight, I'm putting £1m on Jake Paul.' Reacting to Fury's faith in him, Paul said: 'I saw that! He's backing me. He's a smart lad.' Joshua has not fought since being stopped by Dubois in September last year, but has been linked with facing Fury next year. The most powerful man in boxing, Saudi powerbroker Turki Alalshikh, is also on board with a Paul vs Joshua contest. Asked by TalkSPORT of the possibility of the bout, he said: 'We are talking now about the future, let's see. Why not? It's a win-win deal.' Speaking about his own future, Fury (34-2-1) confirmed the least surprising news imaginable, that he intends to return from his latest retirement, set to box again next year. Speaking at a Goldstar Promotions event, the Gypsy King said: 'I do miss it, every single day I wake up in the morning and miss it. I've been away seven months, missed it everyday. I'm open to offers at the moment. More Trending 'I'm not going to be doing any comebacks this year, that's for sure. I'm busy as you can see I've got Netflix here. 'I'm filming At Home With The Furys season two and then next year the big GK is going to make a f***ing comeback. 'The takeover! I'm gonna be 37 in about three weeks so I'm going to be the oldest swinger with all these young boys coming up it's going to be difficult. But I believe I can put on some very good nights still.' Man Utd and Everton ‘interested in relegated Leicester star Wilfried Ndidi' who has bargain transfer clause
MANCHESTER UNITED and Everton are both showing interest in Leicester star Wilfried Ndidi, according to reports. Ndidi, 28, is thought to be available for a cut-price fee this summer after Leicester were relegated back to the Championship. 1 According to TalkSPORT, Ndidi has a £9million release clause in his contract as a result of the Foxes' relegation. They claim that both Man Utd and Everton have shown interest in the Nigerian because of the low fee. Both clubs were linked with Ndidi last summer when the defensive midfielder was available as a free agent, before he penned a three-year deal at the King Power. But that deal could now be cut short amid the temptation of a return to the Premier League. It's well documented that Man Utd's transfer kitty is much smaller than they would like, given their inability to qualify for European football for the first time since 2015. Ndidi's relatively small fee makes him an affordable target in a summer where the Old Trafford execs will have to be savvy with their spending. While midfield reinforcements could also be crucial for Ruben Amorim 's side with rumours continuing to swirl around an exit for Casemiro. Both United and Everton will also have to battle with clubs from Saudi Arabia, who are also said to be circling a move for Ndidi. Join SUN CLUB for the Man Utd Files every Thursday plus in-depth coverage and exclusives from Old Trafford Ndidi made 28 Premier League appearances for Leicester last season, registering five assists in the process. The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves this summer, sealing the deal for the Brazilian for a fee of £62.5m. While they are currently working on signing Brentford winger Bryan Mbuemo, having tabled a second offer for the 25-year-old worth in excess of £60million. There could also be a number of high-profile exits from the Theatre of Dreams in the coming weeks too. SunSport reported this week that Spanish giants Barcelona are considering a loan move for wantaway star Marcus Rashford.
