Miley Cyrus fans fume after singer 'bullied' into singing at movie premiere
Miley Cyrus' new movie, Something Beautiful, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, but some fans were not pleased with the event as they were expecting a concert Miley Cyrus graced the Tribeca Film Festival with her presence, but the event didn't quite hit the right note with some fans. At the premiere of Something Beautiful, set for a one-day cinematic release on June 12, Miley took to the stage for a Q&A session. However, some fans in the audience felt duped, with one shouting out, "We thought this was a concert," and revealing a hefty price tag: "We paid $800." The songstress tried to stay focused amidst the commotion, even as another attendee questioned: "Are you actually going to sing?" Eventually, she gave in, delivering an impromptu rendition of The Climb while remaining seated. Miley turned heads in a stunning netted dress adorned with spaghetti straps and a daring neckline, topped off with a luxurious cream fur shawl that swept the floor. Her hair styled in flowing waves and her makeup fully on point, she certainly looked the part. Online reactions to the disruptions were critical, with one user on X, previously known as Twitter, commenting: "Oh this is not it those people should have been removed. Poor Miley a concert is cool but getting to hear your fav talk about the creative process is such a gift? ? ? ? ?", reports the Mirror US. Another chimed in with a dose of sarcasm: "The girl who spent her rent on this and felt scammed, what was her plan exactly? Assuming this was indeed a concert, will she be in the comments like 'THE BEST NIGHT EVER, so worth being homeless for!'. As if it wasn't stupid enough to put in $800 without doing any research. "These people are so trashy omg... it's a FILM festival, with a FILM premiering, and a CONVERSATION with Miley afterwards... at no point was it advertised as anything else," vented one fan. Another chimed in, "Pandemic ruined peoples manners or something. No common sense. No idea what they're buying." And another gasped: "What they did to Miley Cyrus at the TriBeCa Film Festival was absolutely disgusting. Grown adults bullying & harassing her like that and nobody cared to stop it." Miley took to Instagram following the event and was once again backed by online users. She shared a reel of images and wrote: "Sending you all of my love, to show how much I appreciate sharing the experience of releasing my visual album @tribeca together xo tonight truly was Something Beautiful. Thank you." Fans in the comments section apologised for the actions of those in the crowd, with one telling the star: "You were amazing. Also, you didn't deserve that kind of treatment. You managed all of the situation with gentleness and kindness like you always do. Proud of you!" The artist has been on a significant promotional drive since her latest album dropped. During a recent album signing, she cheekily took a dig at her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth. As she autographed a record for a fan named Liam, she quipped that he was the "best" Liam. Since their split, Miley has found fresh romance with musician and drummer Maxx Morando. The pair have been together since 2021 and he even contributed to her latest album. On the other hand, Hemsworth has been romantically linked with model Gabriella Brooks since 2019. Five years post their brief marriage, Miley has not only excelled in her music career but also thrived personally. In an open conversation with Zane Lowe, she discussed her journey towards sobriety and its profound impact on her life and relationships.

'And so she would get these checks. That happens on touring all the time,' she continued. Then, she admitted that her accountant would wonder about the 'vintage clothes' costs and she had to come up with excuses to her questions too. 'Every time she saw me, she'd be like, "Where's that, like, $15,000 original John Lennon T-shirt that you bought?" It's like, "Oh, it's upstairs." '"We just really want to protect it, It's really delicate. The fabric, we got to take care of it." So I bought a lot of vintage clothes that year.'

Miley Cyrus forced to perform after ‘rude' fans heckle her at film premiere: ‘We paid $800, sing miley, sing!'
Miley Cyrus' new film, Something Beautiful, a 55-minute visual trip through 13 tracks and music video cuts, premiered at the Tribeca Festival in New York on June 6. The film serves as a companion piece to her new album of the same name. The premiere took place at the Beacon Theatre, where Miley showed up for a Q&A alongside the film's producers and directors. But mid-conversation, things got messy. A few fans, clearly annoyed, interrupted the session, shouting and yelling at Miley to sing. 'We paid $800. Sing!' one fan screamed. Another yelled, 'We thought this was a concert.' Turns out, the chaos emerged from misleading ads on third-party ticket sites like StubHub and VividSeats. Also read | Priyanka Chopra's husband Nick Jonas' ex Miley Cyrus recalls their break up: 'He dumped me, I asked why are you leaving Miley Cyrus, unaware of the confusion, responded patiently, and even sang on the spot to stop the crowd from screaming. She belted out an a cappella version of her 2009 hit 'The Climb' from Hannah Montana: The Movie. The pop star had earlier revealed that Disney once banned her from performing any Hannah Montana tracks, until recently, when she was officially recognised as a 'Disney Legend' and the network finally lifted those bans. Absolutely disgusting that people would do this. There was nothing about this event advertised as a performance and these people had the nerve to yell this to her. So disgusted. — Miley Analytics (@MileyAnalytics) June 7, 2025 Moments after the video went viral, Miley Cyrus' fans rushed to defend the Grammy winner, slamming the in-house crowd as 'rude,' 'entitled,' and 'shameless,' while praising the singer for how well she handled the mess. 'Maybe check what kind of event you're at before shouting demands at an artist,' a person commented. Miley's team and the Tribeca Festival have yet to respond. Meanwhile, the 'Flowers' crooner's ninth studio album, Something Beautiful came out on May 30. The album features songs she worked on with other artistes, like Brittany Howard and Naomi Campbell, with a special credit to her boyfriend, Maxx Morand, for helping out. The thing is after my experience with the rude fans at chateau, I would have literally stood up and told her to shut the fuck up 😭 like I can't take it anymore. Let's Normalise Chappell Roaning — The Miley Cyrus HQ (@TheMileyCyrusHQ) June 7, 2025 Also read: 'I was buying drugs, pretended they were vintage clothes,': Miley Cyrus on hiding expenses, 'leaking blood' on stage and Disney ban According to The Hollywood Reporter, who spoke to several attendees that night, the heckling was the result of confusion, caused by third-party ticket resellers like StubHub and VividSeats. Ads on those platforms apparently made it look like Miley was on a concert tour. Some fans ended up dropping hundreds, even over a grand, thinking they were buying tickets to a live show. One woman, Kate Fiore, said she and her sister spent $1,700 on tickets after seeing an ad that made no mention of the Tribeca Film Festival. The reality hit once they got there; it was a movie screening, not a concert. They weren't alone. Many around them had the same experience. Some stayed. Others left early. Another attendee, Tim, said he shelled out $1,200 for two tickets after seeing an ad that straight-up made it sound like a concert. The moment he spotted the 'Tribeca Film Festival' marquee outside the Beacon, it clicked. 'I was sitting there cringing in the audience with my sister as the fans were yelling at the stage. It was very awkward, but it was obvious there was a clear misalignment in expectations between the event and the fans, which is just… uncomfortable in a visceral way,' said Tim. For the day, Miley Cyrus hit the red carpet wearing a sheer, beaded dress with layers of strands. She posed with the team behind her new visual album Something Beautiful, including her mom Tish, and yelled out to the cameras, 'Everybody say, 'Dysfunctional!'' The album Something Beautiful is inspired by Pink Floyd's The Wall, and the pop star shared that it holds a special connection with one of her brothers. The visuals are inspired by old-school concept albums. The whole thing was shot in two weeks.
