Miley Cyrus forced to perform after ‘rude' fans heckle her at film premiere: ‘We paid $800, sing miley, sing!'
Miley Cyrus' new film, Something Beautiful, a 55-minute visual trip through 13 tracks and music video cuts, premiered at the Tribeca Festival in New York on June 6. The film serves as a companion piece to her new album of the same name. The premiere took place at the Beacon Theatre, where Miley showed up for a Q&A alongside the film's producers and directors. But mid-conversation, things got messy. A few fans, clearly annoyed, interrupted the session, shouting and yelling at Miley to sing. 'We paid $800. Sing!' one fan screamed. Another yelled, 'We thought this was a concert.' Turns out, the chaos emerged from misleading ads on third-party ticket sites like StubHub and VividSeats.

Miley Cyrus, unaware of the confusion, responded patiently, and even sang on the spot to stop the crowd from screaming. She belted out an a cappella version of her 2009 hit 'The Climb' from Hannah Montana: The Movie. The pop star had earlier revealed that Disney once banned her from performing any Hannah Montana tracks, until recently, when she was officially recognised as a 'Disney Legend' and the network finally lifted those bans.
Absolutely disgusting that people would do this. There was nothing about this event advertised as a performance and these people had the nerve to yell this to her. So disgusted. pic.twitter.com/mpL50glmdE

Moments after the video went viral, Miley Cyrus' fans rushed to defend the Grammy winner, slamming the in-house crowd as 'rude,' 'entitled,' and 'shameless,' while praising the singer for how well she handled the mess. 'Maybe check what kind of event you're at before shouting demands at an artist,' a person commented. Miley's team and the Tribeca Festival have yet to respond. Meanwhile, the 'Flowers' crooner's ninth studio album, Something Beautiful came out on May 30. The album features songs she worked on with other artistes, like Brittany Howard and Naomi Campbell, with a special credit to her boyfriend, Maxx Morand, for helping out.
The thing is after my experience with the rude fans at chateau, I would have literally stood up and told her to shut the fuck up 😭 like I can't take it anymore.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, who spoke to several attendees that night, the heckling was the result of confusion, caused by third-party ticket resellers like StubHub and VividSeats. Ads on those platforms apparently made it look like Miley was on a concert tour. Some fans ended up dropping hundreds, even over a grand, thinking they were buying tickets to a live show. One woman, Kate Fiore, said she and her sister spent $1,700 on tickets after seeing an ad that made no mention of the Tribeca Film Festival. The reality hit once they got there; it was a movie screening, not a concert. They weren't alone. Many around them had the same experience. Some stayed. Others left early.
Another attendee, Tim, said he shelled out $1,200 for two tickets after seeing an ad that straight-up made it sound like a concert. The moment he spotted the 'Tribeca Film Festival' marquee outside the Beacon, it clicked. 'I was sitting there cringing in the audience with my sister as the fans were yelling at the stage. It was very awkward, but it was obvious there was a clear misalignment in expectations between the event and the fans, which is just… uncomfortable in a visceral way,' said Tim.
For the day, Miley Cyrus hit the red carpet wearing a sheer, beaded dress with layers of strands. She posed with the team behind her new visual album Something Beautiful, including her mom Tish, and yelled out to the cameras, 'Everybody say, 'Dysfunctional!'' The album Something Beautiful is inspired by Pink Floyd's The Wall, and the pop star shared that it holds a special connection with one of her brothers. The visuals are inspired by old-school concept albums. The whole thing was shot in two weeks.

Miley Cyrus screamed at, forced to sing at Something Beautiful premiere; angry fans slam ‘entitled attendees'. Watch
Miley Cyrus's new film, Something Beautiful, premiered at the Tribeca Festival in New York on 6 June. Miley, along with the film's producers and directors, attended the premiere at the Beacon Theatre and took part in a Q&A session. However, the event was disrupted when some audience members shouted and yelled at Miley to sing, having mistakenly believed it was a concert. A video of the incident quickly surfaced online, prompting widespread criticism of the audience's rude behaviour. (Also Read: Miley Cyrus makes rare comment about Nick Jonas, says 'Niley for life') During the Q&A with producer Panos Cosmatos and co-directors, one attendee was heard yelling at Miley, 'We thought this was a concert, we paid $800—sing!' Another demanded, 'Are you actually going to sing?' In response, Miley graciously performed an impromptu a cappella rendition of The Climb, her 2009 hit from Hannah Montana: The Movie, leading to enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. Though Miley handled the disruption with poise, her fans rushed to her defence. On Twitter, one wrote, 'This actually pissed me off so bad... how dare you disrespect MILEY CYRUS at her own event because YOU didn't read what you were buying a ticket for?? She has no obligation to entertain you.' Another added, 'Makes me sad people act like this. You made the choice to purchase overpriced resale tickets. I didn't think this was a concert when I saw it advertised.' Another wrote, 'They are so entitled.' Another tweet read, 'Grown adults not even reading what they are paying for at the Tribeca Film Festival. Poor Miley. Disgusting.' Supporters also praised Miley's composure: 'You are a shining gem! You handled those disrespectful fans with such grace and beauty! Love you, Miley!' wrote a fan. Another commented, 'Shout out to you Miley for being so nice and professional, because people really should learn some manners like w** is wrong with you guys? She worked so hard, she's having her moment, HOW ON EARTH you're making this about you? Shouting at someone on stage like that, so disrespectful, so disappointing.' Far from complaining, Miley expressed heartfelt gratitude to her audience on Instagram, writing, 'Seeing Something Beautiful on the big screen at @tribeca @beacontheatre surrounded by the screams of the audience was so worth every bit of effort lovingly laboured into this visual album. Tonight was emotional, deep, fun & fabulous… YOU, the crowd, were my absolute favourite of all. I love you.' Something Beautiful!, a companion to Miley's album inspired by Pink Floyd's The Wall, is set for a theatrical release on June 12.

Miley Cyrus didnt have permission to perform Hannah Montana songs: It was sad
Los Angeles, Jun 8 (PTI) Hollywood actor-singer Miley Cyrus says she wasn't allowed to perform songs from her show "Hannah Montana" after exiting Disney. Cyrus rose to fame with her role in the show, which ran from 2006-2011 on Disney channel. In "Hannah Montana", Cyrus portrayed the role of a teenager, living a dual life as a regular girl and a popular pop star. The 32-year-old singer, who has tracks such as "We Can't Stop", "Wrecking Ball", and "Flowers" to her credit, said she didn't want to perform the "Hannah Montana" songs, but it did make her upset. "After I left Disney, I wasn't allowed to perform any of the 'Hannah Montana' music. It's not like I wanted to, I mean, performing 'The Best Of Both Worlds' between 'We Can't Stop' and 'Wrecking Ball,' wouldn't have really made sense," she said on The Ringer podcast. "It was still sad knowing those songs have my voice, my face, and I wasn't allowed to sing them," she added. Last year, Cyrus was named a Disney Legend at D23 2024. Post which, she was allowed to perform the songs of the show. "It was pretty cool," she added. Disney Legend is an honourific title bestowed by The Walt Disney Company on individuals who have made a significant impact on the Disney legacy. Cyrus' latest project is a 55-minute visual album, titled "Something Beautiful". It will release in theatres worldwide on June 27. Prior, it will hit big screen in US on June 12. It comprises 13 tracks.
