The First Descendant Breakthrough Demo Out Now On All Platforms

The First Descendent Today, the demo for the big new Breakthrough update went live for The First Descendant across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. NEXON will keep the demo live until August 6 and gives players a sneak peek at what's coming in the new update. You can pre-register for the upcoming content drop through August 7 (when the full update launches) to claim some exclusive rewards and bonuses. Players that finish the demo before the update is out will receive their own bonus rewards as well, including a Spoils Box and a Crystallization Catalyst, in addition to titles and paint styles if you participate in the First Look Demo Event of the new region, Axion Plains. The First Descendant—Breakthrough For those unaware, The First Descendant is one of the more prominent and reasonably popular free-to-play live service looter-shooters on the market from the past couple of years. You'll complete missions, team up with folks, shoot a bunch of bad guys, and collect a ton of gear and upgrade materials, then do it all again for dozens or hundreds of hours. The Breakthrough update sounds like it should be a pretty massive addition to the game, as it includes tons of content like the new Axion Plains field, the new hover bike vehicle, a Colossus Field raid event, a new Descendent, and even a Nier: Automata crossover. I haven't played The First Descendant actively in a long time myself, but I did give it a go for a few weeks when it first launched and the gameplay loop is really strong. I just typically prefer my games with swords and magic rather than sci-fi guns and bullets. Typically. I did really like what I played, though, and probably would have stuck around longer if I'd had a few friends to check it out with. But when you're a 30-something married guy with kids who rarely plays games just for fun anymore, that's often a hard hill to climb. If you're eagerly anticipating the big new content drop coming soon for The First Descendant, this demo is an awesome way to satiate that appetite ever-so-slightly over the next few weeks. For more details check out the game's official Discord or official website.

Shooter game loved by 10 MILLION is closing in days – fans warned they'll have to pay for an upgrade to keep playing

AN ONLINE shooter game played by 10million at its peak will disappear from two popular consoles in a matter of days. Developers behind the title want to focus on newer platforms, meaning it will shut down on some older devices. The game in question is The First Descendant a free-to-play multiplayer online role-playing looter shooter. It first burst onto the scene last July on Windows PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. But almost one year on, and Xbox One and PS4 owners will be shut out. Advertisement Producer Beom-Jun Lee said the move was going ahead with "much reluctance". But studio Nexon says it was needed to make the game even better with its next "mega season update". There is one reassuring bit of news to come out of the shake-up. Affected players can carry over their account details to any of other platform, so they need not lose everything. Advertisement The all-important date all users need to note is June 19 for the switch off. Gamers have had mixed feelings about the upcoming overhaul. "They shouldn't have even bothered with PS4 support to begin with then," another wrote.
