Texas A&M football loses its second WR to the transfer portal

Texas A&M football loses its second WR to the transfer portal Texas A&M wide receiver Ernest Campbell has entered the transfer portal, @chris_hummer and I have learned for @cbssports/@247Sports. Was a Class of 2024 four-star — Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) April 23, 2025 The 2025 Spring Transfer portal has been relatively quiet for Texas A&M, with coach Mike Elko only reaching out to a handful of available players. However, on Wednesday morning, news broke that a second wide receiver has decided to enter the portal. Ernest Campbell, a former 4-star wide receiver and track star, has announced his entry into the transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports. Known for his blazing speed, the Texas A&M athlete is a 4-time state champion in the 100M with a personal best of 10.29 (high school). While his talent on the track under Coach Pat Henry was undeniable, winning gold recently at the Oregon Team Invitational (10.57) and USTA Invitational (10.28), Campbell's football opportunities were limited due to his position on the depth chart. At 5'9" and 145 lbs upon entering college, Campbell has worked to develop physically while balancing his dual-sport commitments. His transfer aligns with his desire to gain more playing time on the football field, even as his track future looked exceptionally bright with the Aggies. A fresh start could help him excel in both football and track, or focus on one to achieve his goals. For all the latest updates for the Spring Transfer portal, visit here. Ohio State defensive tackle enters the transfer portal

'Tis the season of transfer portal news for the Ohio State football team. the portal news has been trickling out throughout the run to the College Football Playoff national championship, but players have five days from the end of that run to have their name sucked into the portal. The latest to place his name in the portal is defensive tackle Hero Kanu. Out of Santa Margarita, California, after being more or less raised in Germany, Kanu was a part of the 2022 recruiting class as a four-star prospect. He never really broke into a significant rotation, with his most playing time occurring last season with just 123 snaps. He finished the year with 14 tackles and one sack. Kanu is a redshirt junior, so he'll still have two seasons of eligibility to exhaust as he finds a new home. We will of course be on top of whatever destination he chooses and wish him nothing but the best. Ohio State defensive lineman Hero Kanu has entered the transfer portal, @chris_hummer and I have learned for @cbssports/@247Sports. Was a Class of 2022 top-120 overall recruit. Posted 14 tackles the last two — Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) January 25, 2025 Ohio State may have won a national title, but now the hard work begins on a bit of an aggressive timeline with trying to figure out the coaching staff and roster for next season. There is, in fact, no offseason.
