NBA schedule release: Dates forthcoming for Rockets' 2025-26 season
As expected, this is the week for the NBA's announcement of its complete schedule for the 2025-26 regular season. The lone exception will be two games that are to be determined (TBD) at a later date, pending results from group-stage games in the Emirates NBA Cup 2025.
With a roster headlined by newly acquired superstar Kevin Durant, the Houston Rockets already know they'll be playing on opening night, October 21, and on Christmas Day, December 25.
Now, over the next three days, the Rockets will learn 78 more game dates. From the NBA's website:
Tune in to Good Morning America and The TODAY Show on Tuesday morning — then stay tuned for more throughout the week — as the NBA Schedule Release presented by Ticketmaster begins. The regular-season schedule will include dates and opponents for 80 of each team's 82 games, along with two games designated as TBD dates and opponents as part of the Emirates NBA Cup.
Follow along across the NBA App and NBA social media all week for more information on the new schedule.
ABC and NBC are two of the league's primary television partners, so it makes business sense that the morning shows on those networks will get some early leaks.
Along with game dates, this week's schedule will also include tipoff times and initial national television assignments. For Durant and the new-look Rockets, expect plenty of those spotlight games, as already shown by the league's opening night and Christmas lineups.

LeBron took offense with that and confronted Smith courtside during a Lakers game at Arena and said some things to the "First Take" host that Smith described as "aren't suited for FCC airwaves." That incident touched Smith's ego and triggered him to go on what James mocked as his version of Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour", trying to defend himself and explain his side of the beef. Then James appeared on Pat McAfee's Show and fired shots at Smith, which further infuriated the ESPN host. It has been five months since their courtside confrontation. LeBron seems to have moved on after Smith stopped talking about Bronny on his show. Stephen A. looks like he has, too, and only talks about their beef when asked. Former NBA player calls the OKC Thunder his favorite team he played for
Despite being a small market, you always hear nothing but positive reviews from NBA players who played for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The city's nightlife may not be as colorful as other larger markets, but it's the perfect place to go to if you're all about basketball. Add Anthony Morrow to the list of former Thunder players who can attest to that. He recently went on the "Stories Untold" podcast. The career journeyman spent almost three seasons in OKC from 2014-17. When asked his favorite NBA city to play for, he went with the Thunder. "Oklahoma City, man. Oklahoma City Thunder. I was so happy because at that time, I had settled down. Had kids, family, all of that," Morrow said. "Oklahoma City was the perfect place for me at the time." The Thunder signed Morrow as a bench outside shooter. He played alongside Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook as they were a title contender. He averaged 7.7 points and shot 39.4% from 3 on 3.6 attempts in his time in OKC. He complimented the high-end talent and fans for why he loved his time there. "To be able to play for the best-run organization in the NBA and maybe in sports. Great staff, great teammates, two Hall-of-Fame guys, great team camaraderie," Morrow said. "It's Oklahoma City. We are the only pro team there. They treat everybody like Michael Jackson in the community. Eat for free, family eat for free, show love. It's right what I needed to stay focused on the court and off the court." The Thunder seldom pick up outside free agents. But when they do, they usually nail the additions. Morrow was a solid outside shooter in his time in OKC. Considering he played for seven NBA franchises, it's notable to see him pick the Thunder for the best franchise he's played for.

Sixers' Paul George has 2K26 rating revealed for upcoming season
The popular video game, NBA2K26, will be released very soon as everybody prepares for the 2025-26 NBA season. The game promises to add new features and continue to upgrade graphics and things of the like as the game's production team looks for improvements. A big topic everybody looks for is ratings. The masses want to know what their favorite player's 2K rating is in the game and the official Twitter account released the top 100 rated players in the game. The Philadelphia 76ers have an early entry on the list in the form of Paul George. George, a 9-time All-Star who had an injury-riddled first season with the Sixers, has a 2K rating of 81 as he looks ahead to the new season. Other notable players with an 81 rating are Washington Wizards big man Alex Sarr, Portland Trail Blazers high flyer Shaedon Sharpe, and New York Knicks swingman Josh Hart. George was limited to 41 games with the Sixers and saw his numbers decrease across the board from his previous season with the Los Angeles Clippers. Recovering from an offseason left knee surgery, the Sixers hope George can return and give Philadelphia the dominant scoring it expects from him.
