During their visit, the delegation briefed international partners on India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, highlighting the broader fight against cross-border terrorism while engaged with leaders in key countries.
During his visit to Algeria, AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi lambasted Pakistan, calling it an 'epicentre of Takfirism.'
Addressing the Algerian media, members of think tanks and the Indian diaspora, Owaisi said that there is no ideological difference between the terrorist groups in Pakistan and Daesh and Al-Qaeda.
'Pakistan is the epicentre of Takfirism, and there is no difference in ideology between the terrorist groups in Pakistan and Daesh and Al-Qaeda. They believe that they have a religious sanction, which is completely wrong. Islam does not allow the killing of any person, and unfortunately, that is their ideology.'
Owaisi further reiterated his demand to put Pakistan back on the Grey list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
'Terrorism survives on two things - ideology and money. Ideology, you know very well, you have seen the Black Decade, even in South Algeria, you still have some problems. On that point, we are together... Once you bring Pakistan back in the Grey list (of FATF), we will see a decrease in terrorism in India. We'll see killings coming down. We have the 2018 experience when Algeria and other countries helped India,' Owaisi said.
Emphasising the effectiveness of the Grey list of FATF to counter terrorism, Owaisi said, 'There was this one terrorist called Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi - no country in the world would allow a terrorist who's facing a terror charge. He became a father to a son while sitting in prison. The trial progressed immediately when Pakistan was put on the Grey list (of FATF).'
'It's not only a question of South Asia. We are the 4th largest economy. What will happen? Do you want all this carnage to spread to different parts of South Asia? No. It is in the interest of world peace to control Pakistan, which is the main sponsor of terrorism. It has to be brought back in the FATF Grey list,' he added. (ANI)

Nagpur: Joysen Barua, a 41-year-old Buddhist monk from Chittagong in Bangladesh, who was among the first to apply for citizenship in Nagpur under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), is now on the run facing charges of holding a fake Indian passport. An FIR was registered against him on Tuesday. This happened even as his application under CAA was being processed by the district level committee (DLC). CAA allows Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Christians from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan to obtain Indian nationality on a fast-track basis. The DLC holds its meetings at the General Post Office from time to time to process the applications. Living in India since 2011, Barua applied for citizenship under CAA and first appeared before the committee in June 2024. His case could not be processed as he needed to submit more papers to prove his Bangladeshi citizenship. He again appeared before DLC on August 8 this year, but again sought time for getting the papers. A source said he did not have an original Bangladeshi passport and submitted a coloured photocopy of the passport. However, the DLC needs original documents. Hyderabad: Twenty-seven years after a plane was hijacked in Pakistan, a Pakistani X user decided to post about it on his handle, only to trigger an absurd chain of events that led to a case being booked against him in Hyderabad, India, on Aug 14, 2025. It was on May 25, 1998 that Pakistani authorities had arrested three youngsters from Balochistan for hijacking a Pakistan Airlines flight that took off from Gwadar airport. An 'X' user posted about the incident on his handle on Aug 14, 2025, unaware of its possible repercussions. As the post contained words like 'Hyderabad Airport' (in Sindh, Pakistan), 'Hijackers', 'Captain Uzair Khan', 'Delhi', the Airport Predictive Operations Centre (APOC), which also uses a AI-powered social media listening tool, received an alert about the "threat message" citing the X handle. The APOC official promptly lodged a complaint with the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police at Hyderabad India, and a case was registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology (IT) Act on Aug 15.
