15-year-old boy dies days after being found shot in Boston neighborhood
Police went to 17A Gordon St. in Allston around 8:10 p.m. on June 12 for a report of a person shot, the department said in a statement. Arriving officers found a 15-year-old boy outside 7 Pomeroy St., about 100 feet away, suffering from a gunshot wound.
The boy was taken to a hospital and died days later, on June 17, police said. The cause and manner of his death is pending, police said.
The police department's homicide unit is 'actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.'

Bessent then brought up that Musk, as the leader of DOGE, had not been successful in carrying out his promise to cut $1 trillion in government spending. 'Scott said, 'You're a fraud. You're a total fraud,'' Bannon told the Post. The fight then turned physical as the pair approached the national security office, and after witnesses intervened, Musk was shuffled out of the West Wing, according to the Post. 'President Trump heard about it and said, 'This is too much,'' Bannon added. Bessent, a 62-year-old from South Carolina, was confirmed as Trump's treasury secretary in January after working for years as a top hedge fund manager. Bessent's father was the founder of a real estate firm, and his prominent family can trace its roots back to 17th century French Huguenots, Bloomberg reports. Woman seriously hurt in western P.E.I. car-shooting incident has died, RCMP say
An incident in western P.E.I. that left 35-year-old man dead has now claimed a second victim: the female passenger from Summerside who was injured when a Toyota Corolla was shot at, rolled over and hit a utility pole on Friday night. "This afternoon, P.E.I. RCMP were informed by the family of the 50-year-old woman involved in the shooting incident in Urbainville that she has passed," the force said in a news release Tuesday. "Our thoughts are with the families of both victims involved in this incident." The news release said RCMP had no further information to provide, adding: "The families of both victims asked for respect and privacy during this difficult time." During a news conference Monday, an RCMP spokesman said both people in the car had sustained injuries from the crash, with the driver also suffering gunshot wounds. The force had earlier described the woman's injuries as serious. Cpl. Gavin Moore said police believe there was another vehicle on the isolated dirt section of Hackmatack Road when the "targeted" shooting occurred at about 8 p.m. AT Friday. "Police are also investigating a report of a burned vehicle located in St. Lawrence, near Miminegash, reported at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, which may be linked to this case," he added. That location in western Prince County is about 60 kilometres from Urbainville, which is about 80 kilometres west of Charlottetown. Police have not named a suspect in the case. "P.E.I. RCMP will share updates as information can be made available," the Tuesday news release said.

The crash occurred on Columbia Parkway around 4:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, Aug. 6, according to NBC affiliate WLWT and CBS affiliate WKRC. Police reportedly said a 25-year-old woman was driving a Honda westbound on the roadway when she crossed the center line and hit a Volvo being driven by a 34-year-old woman. Cincinnati Fire and EMS shared a photo on X of the wreckage, which showed a white car flipped on its left side and a black car with its front end smashed in. A 7-year-old boy who was in the back of the 25-year-old woman's vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash, WLWT reported. Michael Askin told ABC affiliate WCPO that the boy is his son, who is also named Michael. Two bystanders pulled the boy out of the car and quickly began administering CPR, according to Askin. The child's injuries included three spinal fractures, a lacerated abdominal aorta and brain swelling. Michael was later transported to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries, according to WCPO. He also had most of his small intestine removed and received a blood transfusion. With his son now in stable condition, the dad is thanking the two men who stepped in to save his child. "If it wasn't for you, my son, he wouldn't be here at all, fighting what he's fighting right now," he said. "So, thank you." Ashley Meucci — who organized a GoFundMe campaign to support her son, daughter-in-law and grandson — also thanked those who helped her loved ones survive. 'Thanks to the amazing souls who performed CPR on my grandson until EMS arrived because he was not breathing,' she wrote in the description of the online fundraiser, 'thanks to the EMS squad who intubated him and started breathing, and thanks to the amazing doctors and nurses at Children's Hospital who single-handedly resuscitated him, repaired his laceration, and continue to do their best for the best possible outcome for him!'
