According to the woman, the married man, who she swore "was one of the good ones," often tells her he has feelings for her
"In the last month or so, he's started messaging me, to the point that it's become almost daily," the woman saidA woman is contemplating ending her hobby with a mutual group of friends due to one of its overbearing members.
The woman detailed her dilemma on the U.K.-based forum Mumsnet with the subject line, "I need to do something about this man."
Explaining that the individual is "married to someone I know and like," the woman continued, "I've heard bits and pieces from both of them over the years, suggesting that their relationship isn't great, but I always assumed these things crop up in a long marriage, and none of my business anyway."
Added the woman, 'I socialize with him quite a bit in a group. His wife is always invited, but often declines to come.'

Recently, the woman said her view of the man changed "after many years, where I'd have sworn he was one of the good ones."
Detailing that she had "never seen or heard anything inappropriate from him," the woman said the man has since "decided to tell me 'how he feels.' "
And though she has "tried to shut it down," the woman said that "things will be normal for a while, but as soon as he has a drink, he's there declaring feelings again."
"In the last month or so, he's started messaging me, to the point that it's become almost daily. Nothing flirty, always positive," the woman continued, adding, however, that "it's the sudden change, alongside the other conversations, that bother me."
Concluding her message by noting that she "can't just cut him off, or at least not without sacrificing my main hobby and friendship group," the woman further explained, "I'm not inclined to do that because a man is being ridiculous."

In the comments section of the post, other Mumsnet users agreed that the man was testing the boundaries.

PLANS to carry out extensive repairs on a historic 177-year-old railway viaduct in Stirlingshire have been submitted. Network Rail has lodged plans to carry out essential repairs on the category B-listed Old Mill Of Keir viaduct, which carries railway tracks between Dunblane and Bridge of Allan while crossing the River Allan. The statement added: 'It is suggested that these fractures could be a result of softening of the brick in its permanently damp state or possibly weakening of the backing materials resulting in increased flexibility of the arches and separation from the spandrel walls.' The Mill Of Keir viaduct sits within the Kippenross parkland, which was landscaped and designed by Thomas White Senior and Junior in the 18th century. The railway line that includes the Mill of Keir Viaduct was originally built by the Scottish Central Railway and formed part of a major 19th-century expansion of Scotland's rail network, which linked Perth to the central belt. The document adds: "The Mill of Keir Viaduct is a B-listed structure of mid-19th century origin, and the proposed works are informed by a detailed understanding of its construction, condition, and historical context. 'The interventions – particularly the installation of handrails and masonry repairs – are essential for safety and structural integrity, and have been designed to minimise visual and physical impact. 'The use of reversible and sympathetic materials, along with the retention of original fabric wherever possible, ensures that the special architectural and historic interest of the viaduct is preserved.'

Scottish Labour MSP Colin Smyth arrested and charged over indecent images
MSP Colin Smyth has been arrested and charged in connection with possession of indecent images, prompting his suspension from Scottish Labour. The South Scotland MSP was arrested on Tuesday and is due to appear in court at a later date. He was first elected as an MSP in 2016 and returned to Holyrood again at the 2021 election. The Scottish Parliament website now lists him as an Independent. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: 'On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, officers executed a warrant at a property on Marchfield Avenue, Dumfries. 'A 52-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with possession of indecent images. He is due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court at a later date.' A spokesman for Scottish Labour said: 'The whip has been removed from Colin Smyth MSP, pending an investigation. 'We cannot comment further on this matter while the investigation is ongoing.' It is understood the MSP was administratively suspended by Labour after the party became aware of the police investigation.

Train services across North West facing disruption after 'delibrate act of vandalism'
Train services across the North West are facing major disruption after vandals cut cables in several locations. Emergency work is now taking place to restore the signalling system for the West Coast Main Line, causing major disruption to service across the North West, to Scotland and London Euston. Network Rail engineers have found that the cables carrying vital information that allows trains to move safely around the network have been cut in several locations along the track at Bamfurlong, near Wigan. Described as a 'deliberate act of vandalism', it is being investigated by British Transport Police and Network Rail is assisting with attempting to identify the criminals. Phil James, North West route director said: This is an appalling act of criminal vandalism and I am sorry for the disruption that passengers have faced today. Our teams are hard at work making repairs which are very complex due to the nature of this vandalism. While this work carries on, train journeys across the North West and on the West Coast Mainline will continue to be disrupted. We are working closely with the train operators to provide what service while the necessary and complicated repair continues. Chris Jackson, Managing Director at TransPennine Express, said: It's really disappointing to, once again, see so many of our customers' journeys impacted by attempted cable theft. As an industry we have worked hard to tackle this issue and will continue to work together to support British Transport Police in any subsequent investigations. I'd like to thank our customers for their ongoing patience as we do all we can to keep them on the move, and call on anyone planning to travel to check carefully for any changes to their journeys. Tricia Williams, managing director for Northern, said: This disgraceful act of vandalism has caused severe disruption for our customers, as we have been forced to close lines and cancel services between Blackpool, Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan. Rail replacement buses are running for customers and ticket acceptance is in place, allowing them to travel via alternative routes with other train operators for no extra cost. We are sorry for the disruption and are working closely with Network Rail so we can restore services at the earliest opportunity.
