FUNERAL BAN PLEA Netflix star urges people who loved 'murdered' mum not to attend stepdad's funeral amid death probe
A NETFLIX star has urged anyone who loved his 'murdered' mum not to attend her husband's funeral - after cops suspect he killed her before taking his own life.
Dawn Kerr and Andrew Searle, who were in their 60s, were found dead at their idyllic French hamlet of Les Pesquies, near Villefranche-de-Rouergue in February this year.

Police initially believed the deaths could have been linked to Andrew's former job as an organised crime fraud investigator - but all the evidence now points to a murder-suicide.
Dawn's son Callum Kerr, who played PC George Kiss in soap opera Hollyoaks and appeared in Netflix's Virgin River, today issued a plea for any friends of his mum not to attend her 'killer's funeral.
The Scots actor had proudly walked his mother down the aisle during her marriage to Andrew in September 2023.

But writing on Instagram, he said: 'In the absence of any evidence suggesting third-party involvement in the tragic death of our mother, Dawn Kerr, the prevailing hypothesis remains that of a murder-suicide.
'Our mother was killed by multiple blows to the head, and Andrew was found deceased by hanging.
'His injuries are consistent with self-hanging, and no defensive wounds were found on his body.
'There is also no evidence whatsoever of any third party's involvement at this stage.

'While the official investigation is still ongoing, we cannot ignore the circumstances as they stand.
'For this reason, we must respectfully but firmly request that our mother not be included in any way in the funeral arrangements being made for Andrew.
'Please do not share photographs of them together. Please do not attend Andrew's service if you were a friend of our mother.

'It would be inappropriate for her memory to be associated with a service honouring the man who, based on all available evidence, may have been responsible for her death.
'We ask for understanding, privacy and respect as we continue to grieve and seek justice for our mum.'

Dawn was found lying in front of her house, partly undressed, while Andrew was found hanged from a radiator.
French prosecutors revealed in February: 'A box containing jewellery was found near to her, but no item or weapon which could have caused the injuries were located.'
They also said: 'Mr Searle, who was found hanged… did not show any visible defensive injuries.'
Cash was found in the couple's bedroom and their home appeared to have been 'roughly searched'.
Police also considered the possibility of a hitman linked to Andrew's anti-fraud work in the financial crime sector - or a botched burglary.

Andrew Searle is suspected of killing his wife
His 21-year career at British banks Standard Life and Barclays included spotting accounting irregularities linked to organised crime groups.
Investigators found his mobile device proved 'particularly helpful', after he was spotted making animated calls in previous days.
An investigating source said in February: 'There is a mine of information and recent calls made by Mr Searle which are providing vital clues.'
Andrew and Dawn were labelled by local friends as being a 'popular' and 'happy couple'.

The bodies were found in the French capital on August 13 in Choisy-le-Roi. One of the victims died from strangulation while another had suffered "violent injuries", the local prosecutor said on Saturday. It is currently unclear how many of the four victims the man is accused of killing. The first body which was reportedly submerged for a shorter time than the others was identified as a man aged around 40 who lived in the local area. His corpse showed signs of "violent injuries", before another investigation was opened into a second body. The suspect is now set to face questioning during his arrest over the four dead bodies. He was taken in custody on Wednesday morning, Le Parisien reported. Cops were joined by river brigade authorities who scrambled to bring the bodies out of the water last week. A source close to the investigation told Actu17: "There are three men of African descent and a fourth of North African descent." The witness reportedly sounded the alarm after making the gruesome discovery at around 1pm last Wednesday. More to follow... Probe into ‘horrific' death of video streamer after weeks of violence and humiliation
Prosecutors ordered an autopsy and opened an investigation into the death of the 46-year-old man in the village of Contes, north of Nice French authorities are investigating the death of a man during a live video stream on the Kick live streaming platform, where he had regularly been shown enduring violence and humiliations. Prosecutors ordered an autopsy and opened an investigation into the death of the 46-year-old man in the village of Contes, north of Nice. Clara Chappaz, junior minister for AI and digital technology, said Raphael Graven, known online as Jean Pormanove, had regularly featured in videos on Kick, where he was physically assaulted or humiliated by co-streamers as viewers watched live. "The death of Jean Pormanove and the violence he suffered are absolutely horrific," she said on X. Kick Francais said on X it would cooperate with authorities and was undertaking a review of its French content. "Our priority is to protect creators and ensure a safer environment on Kick," it said, adding that "all co-streamers who participated in this live broadcast have been banned pending the ongoing investigation". Kick is an Australia-registered live streaming platform that shares revenue with its content creators. Chappaz said a judicial investigation is underway, that she had referred the matter to digital and audiovisual communication regulator Arcom and that she had filed a report to Pharos, France's internet portal for reporting illicit internet content. She said she asked Kick for explanations, adding: "the responsibility of online platforms for dissemination of illegal content is not optional: it is the law". Yassin Sadouni, a lawyer for one of two co-streamers seen abusing Pormanove, said on BFM television that Pormanove had cardiovascular problems and that the violence in the videos was not real but acted. "All those scenes are just staged, they follow a script," he said. French media have shown excerpts of hours-long videos during which Pormanove is seen suffering blows, insults, strangulation, dousing with paint and oil and being shot at with a paintball gun. It was not clear from the video excerpts if Pormanove voluntarily subjected himself to the violence or was forced to endure it, nor whether the action was real or staged. Pierce Brosnan talks ageing: 'I don't see myself as an old man'
While many of us still think of him as James Bond, Pierce Brosnan is taking on a new case, this time as a pensioner trying to solve a murder in a new Netflix movie. The film is an adaptation of Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club, which focuses on a group of older people in a retirement home who get dragged into a real murder case, and decide who better to solve it than themselves. The Navan native plays Ron Ritchie, a retired union leader, but when chatting to Saga Magazine, he revealed that despite being in his 70s, he doesn't' see himself as an old man. Helen Mirren, Ben Kingsley, Pierce Brosnan and Celia Imrie in The Thursday Murder Club Pic: Netflix He shared: 'I don't see myself as an old man at all. But I suppose I would be considered an old man by some and I am getting older, that's for sure. So The Thursday Murder Club dealt with all of those intricacies of the heart that are so fragile to look at sometimes.' The film itself highlights a lot of the things people go through as they get older, and some of the more difficult aspects of that. Brosnan added: 'It will bring great comfort to people who are getting old. We don't really look after the elders in our society, they get pushed to the side. It's a story of dignity and hope.' Helen Mirren, Ben Kingsley, and Pierce Brosnan in The Thursday Murder Club Pic: Giles Keyte/Netflix The Thursday Murder Club was first published in 2020, and spawned a hugely successful murder mystery series that now includes four titles, with the fifth due out this September. The film follows four irrepressible retirees — Elizabeth (Helen Mirren), Ron (Pierce Brosnan), Ibrahim (Ben Kingsley) and Joyce (Celia Imrie) — who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun. When an unexplained death occurs on their own doorstep, their casual sleuthing takes a thrilling turn as they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands. The movie is directed by Chris Columbus and also stars Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant, Paul Freeman, Geoff Bell, Richard E Grant, and Ingrid Oliver.
